Just got my 450L and I'm sorting thru the bags of parts now. This video is Enormously helpful and greatly lowers the intimidation factor of putting such a precision machine together correctly. Thank you!
I really love your video. Absolutely clears everything up for me on my 450L. I swapped out align servos for KST 215 9g digital metal servos. I think in my opinion those are rock solid bullet proof performers they almost never burn out. I am a little leery with align servos they have a tendency to freeze up or burn out like some of the cheaper servos do.
sorry to be so off topic but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Dallas Jayceon thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks Colin! Appreciated, I just buy one from E-Hely (Agus LIE) Jakarta Indonesia. and after my day off from offshore drilling rig i will start to build my small dominator. Thanks and regards, Umar
Nice video dude....i recently got in to helis and i went with the Align 450 DFC,i just can't over the quality of Align products, this one here is going to be my next one, looks great.
Oi amigo me dê uma informação como e fasso pra enroscar as artes preta nós links que vai no servo está entrando torto e o cabo do esc está curto pra levar até o receptor
Hey Colin. I got my pitch links to exactly 10.5mm of metal showing with a measurement calliper. Once I put them on the heli I realized this was way off as I couldn't get anywhere near 0 pitch at half stick. I watched another video which said to shorten the DFC links to get the pitch to 0 but my are screwed in all the way. I had to shorten my pitch links to 32.5mm ball to centre distance to get my heli setup in the correct ball park. Is this wrong?
This is a great video. The editing is done well so it is nice and compact and you can just pause it as you go and it's ready for the next step when you are. I am guessing part 2 would have the electronic setup, but you need to connect the flybarless unit and receiver before assembling some parts, such as the tail rotor servo mount, so it would have been nice to see at least the order to connect everything here. I know this video is old now and we haven't seen part 2, but does anyone have any good setup info or a video on a Futaba 14SG and Align GPro configuration?
you didnt show how you get the tail boom plastic mount inside the frame. im at this point now. and the manual doesnt even show how to do it. it tells you to push the boom into the boom mount first. but then how do you get the mount inside the frame? ive tried everything and it wont clear the little hex nuts that are sticking out the sides of the boom mount as well - the white plastic hex nuts are in the way that the mount screws go through.
Hi Colin brill vids, now will this help me with my t-rex 600l dominator? i cant find alot of vid about the assembly of the 600, take it that there cant be much differance between the 450 and the 600 dominator apart from bigger parts, is that right Colin? thanks again matt
Chances are the tolerances are off on the clone which are causing the bearings to get crushed as you tighten the bolts. This is why it's best to use genuine Align parts.
HI hows it going mr bell u r a true professional heli pilot question ty to bind my 450L up with my DX6 for the first time try for like 3 hours noting 2 beas for my esc an nothing could u plase tell me a couple thinks I my be doing worg thank u
He didn't address it but you won't be able to get the tail boom into the frame if all the frame screws are in tight. You need to spread the frame apart to get the aluminum hex studs into their white plastic housing in the frame. If you have all the frame screws loctited it won't work. I had to take out the back half of the frame screws it order to be able to spread the frame apart. Not a big deal but the manual doesn't show this. Get the tail boom first before tightening down the back half of the frame screws.

@Dallas Jayceon It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out!
@Langston Franco Glad I could help =)
Thank you. No, you do not need to change any ESC settings. I'm using mine at the factory settings.

How do you adjust the motor for proper mesh? Looks like there is no way to reach those screws once the motor is in the frame!

Hi Colin, cool.
Did you finish 2nd part? Do you have a tip how to adjust the clearance between main gear and pinion? JM
Nice build video, thanks for spending the time to make the video, Robert

Thanks for the video; very well done!
This version of the 450 is very impressive.

Hi Matt, the build is quite similar and you can use all of the same techniques. Thanks for the input!
I like the stop motion well done!
hi, nice video!
We need to setup the ESC changing some settings? Or it comes all set?
Nice build video... part 2 coming our soon?
Thank you. This video is userful. I like it. Waiting your next section.
Hi!!!

No... i am still in bay area.
No, I mean back to Google plus. 😊
Hi, Thanks for the video... What´s the liquid used on srews?
Hi hector, that is thread lock to keep the hardware from backing out.
How can I find the spec for the servos so can setup the At7200bx
I have a clone of this model and I go to tighten up the spindle and the blade grips don't move smoothly. is this normal? if not how do I fix this?
Chances are the tolerances are off on the clone which are causing the bearings to get crushed as you tighten the bolts. This is why it's best to use genuine Align parts.
when the second part will be done ???
whatever happened with part 2?
I would have liked to see how you managed the cables. oh well

So basically all the electronics will fit the other 450 yes and clones
i forgot to say super video very detailed thanks
No
really bad guide.
