Using global eq settings can be handy, but has some drawbacks. For example, if you, like i do, use acoustic tones, whether using the built-in acoustic simulator or a real acoustic guitar, any high cuts applied in the output section will just kill acoustic tones. So although its a pain, i have to do 90% of my EQ on a per rig basis.
