This is much similar to vedic yajña ceremony, usually called havan or Agnihotra.

These people welcome her wholeheartedly. She is shown their traditions that they hold sacred. Only for her, mock them at the end with her inane reply. How inconsiderate and disrespectful to mock someone's spiritual beliefs. It would be like if asked the same of her God saving the world after she prayed out loud. Or why God is allowing suffering and children starvation in the world. The sheltered child finally making her way through the world. Seriously, you don't know how someone will react if you are dismissive or disrespectful to them and offend them. (Thank goodness these men are not the slightest bit affected by her.) I would be afraid to be asinine in the middle of no where and not knowing my way back out or my current location. Probably never crossed her mind. I guess that's just me..

Totally agree & felt the same way with her snarky comment of “so that means we’ll get world peace?” It made me feel second hand embarrassment. I am a Guatemala 🇬🇹 native, although not from the same traditions as them, it’s still something I respect as it were/are beliefs and rituals of the great Mayan ancestors. How lucky to be able to be a part of what she was a part of.

The Maya still live there... The original Mayan people still exist and still live in Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico. There are various groups of Maya.

I guess what she means is that they have lived in that particular area (lake Atitlan) for 5 thousand years, but in fact they have been in America, Guatemala 🇬🇹 even before Aztecs, 2000 yrs B.C

If the priests asks you to sleep with him to make the demons go away. Run like the spirit. He is crazy. All nonsense. A piece of history better left in the cupboards.
