Surprise! RHOA Star Crashes Riley Burruss' College Graduation Party
On the eve of Mother's Day 2024, Kandi Burruss hosted an extravagant college graduation party for her oldest daughter, Riley Burruss. The event took place at the Self Made Studio venue in Atlanta, just days before Riley hit the New York University commencement stage. Attendees included Kandi's husband and Riley's stepdad, Todd Tucker; Riley's stepsister, Kaela Tucker; and family matriarch Mama Joyce Jones. A few Bravolebrities were also present, treated to custom drinks, live music, and cupcakes decorated with Riley's photos.
The event space was decked out in NYU colors, violet and white, and featured multiple banners honoring Riley's achievement. One poster showed a younger Riley in a power pose with the words "Day 1 CEO" written above. There was also a large photo wall that showed Riley rocking NYU-branded gear as well as her cap and gown.
Riley announced her college acceptance in late 2019, months before her high school graduation. She had applied to other schools around the country, but NYU was her first choice. Riley began her college journey studying nutrition, but eventually changed her major to music business. She spoke about her career aspirations during a 2022 episode of the AOL web series In the Know, explaining why she was so drawn to the entertainment biz.
Riley Burruss reflects on her college experience back in February when she was preparing to kick off her last semester as an undergraduate. She said that time has literally flown by, and this past senior year has been so confusing. She is now dealing with the pressure of doing the school work and having to figure out the future after school.
