    Some of the coolest, most practical and well-built shop tools on youtube. Respect from midwest U.S.

    • @Hellsong89
      @Hellsong89 6 лет назад +2

      Practical yes, but most well-built... meh. Least one thing is sure he has implemented "if you cant make it perfect, least make it adjustable" method. What comes to belt grinder, i really like Jeremy Schmidt design that has tilting mechanism and looots of adjustment, but then again that is kind stationary build with its own table, where this can be moved pretty easily.

    • @bacstr
      @bacstr 6 лет назад +1

      Hellsong89, do you know how to respect?

    • @Hellsong89
      @Hellsong89 6 лет назад +6

      Do you know about constructive criticism? Also i later checked his other builds and i see lot of potential there. His innovative and has engineering eye for things, but "well built" is not the word i would use, though practical yes.

    • @bacstr
      @bacstr 6 лет назад +4

      Maybe my English is too bad to recognize the constructive part of your earlier comment. If so, sorry!
      But what I am reading is: The tool is not build well and Jeremy does much better, because x, y, z, ...

    • @Hellsong89
      @Hellsong89 6 лет назад +3

      Its slapped together from different found parts, made to fit around there and there is not that much you can utilize it with, but least its mobile.
      Where are Jeremys version is fully adjustable, has plenty of accessories, but is not mobile due its requiring its own table.
      First one is practical, using parts found around him, but built quality is not the best and usability is limited.
      Another is versatile, using well designed and manufactured parts, so for build quality is way better.
      Both are using method of "if you cant make it perfect, least make it adjustable", though Jeremys version is more adjustable by the design.

    Absolutely one of THE better builds I've seen and the finished product looks better than some of the offerings by Rigid, Craftsman, or Milwaukee Tools.
    But not having a welder nor a lathe it is beyond the time I'd need to build it with the tools I do have so will have to stay with a ten inch sanding disc on my Craftsman grinder for now which, for me has done the job for the last forty years or so - same grinder since it has always been properly maintained and covered with a light cloth cover to keep dust out of the motor; plastic covers promote moisture which eventually promote rust.
    Thank you for sharing your expertise since it shows what can be done with a good amount of ingenuity and ability.

      Just buy one. As cool as it is for him to make one, you need the proper saw blade for cutting metal, you need a welder and all the “scrap” metal used. Unless you already have a work shop, it’s much cheaper to buy one for $250 or less.

    • @yoshyusmc
      @yoshyusmc 3 года назад

      @@caps741 I would say most knife makers in the market for a belt sander already have the necessary tools like me. So it is far less expensive to follow this build than buy a new one for $250.

    • @caps741
      @caps741 3 года назад

      @@yoshyusmc maybe but the person I was commenting on was saying they were looking to get one, not replace one. Which implied that they did not already have a shop, with all the tools, and looking to replace one that no longer works. For them not already having that, spending $250 or less if you find one on sale or something, ends up being cheaper.

    A very good video, my friend. Even moments when I didn't understand what you were doing, the next moment it all came together. Very good. I might just make one of these for myself. Thank you.

    Bardzo praktyczna maszyna, energooszczędna, a nie u Amerykańców - a robota bez pierdół i gadań - tylko go go go go!! Kciuk!

    Gratuluje i podziwiam. Sam majsterkuję dlatego potrafię docenić porządną i przemyślaną konstrukcję. Czapka z głowy.

    Well boy you can make anything with this tools and welding skills. Not for the novice without a welder armed with a hacksaw and a hand drill.

    Świetne wykonanie, zazdroszczę taletu... Jedna uwaga, wymień przewód zasilający na trójżyłowy i uziem obudowę, konstrukcja jest metalową i kiedyś może pojawić się napięcie na niej. Oczywiście gniazdko z którego zasilasz musi mieć bolec

    Awesome build might I suggest you put your wheels on an arbor in your drill or in a lathe if you have one, and make them convex so that your belt doesn't walk on you as it was when you were grinding the rust off the OD of that piece of round stock...
