I love this man. He did not pretend to be a saint. 4:08 I always thought so, too. First spiritual awakening was in Paris. This city is very good for creativity, writing, meditation, silence. It vibrates very differently from other cities. The only other place in Europe where I felt a deep vibration, was Roma. But Roma makes me passive. I was just happy doing nothing, absorbing the energy of this “eternal” city. Whereas Paris seats down beside me and says: write, create, meditate.
Wonderful dharma talk that radiates the Zen-Dharma Spirit both in his words and in the pregnant spaces between the words. Thanks for sharing this auspicious video! Gassho!
The purpose of balancing the body is to free the mind from the care for the balance as it is part of its daily job. But for western people to sit crosslegged in balance is very difficult so to try that would only mean more mental effort and pain instead of less. More comfortable postures can be applied as long as one understands the purpose. Laying down is not a good idea as it may block the breathing when the mind is no longer actively controlling it. So it prevents deeper meditation.
This video is treasure for humanity.
