- From Season 12 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episodes 8 and part of 9: The Three Lives of Thomasina which originally aired in three parts on November 14th, 21st and 28th, 1965. This 1963 theatrically released film stars Patrick McGoohan (The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh), Susan Hampshire (The Fighting Prince of Donegal) and introduces Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber in their first of three Walt Disney Pictures appearances--the other two films being Mary Poppins and The Gnome-Mobile. The film begins with a heartwarming song composed by Terry Gilkyson and then proceeds with the story of Thomasina, a cat whose apparent death helps to mend a broken family with the help of a mysterious veterinarian.
Note: This upload is one of the later airings in which the film was presented in two parts and I've edited each part to include the Wonderful World of Color opening titles and Walt Disney's lead-in for each part. - Развлечения
I saw this movie on TV back in 1966, shortly before my 5th birthday. (The movie was first released in theatres in 1963/1964.) I fell in love with that kitty and told my mom that’s all I wanted for my birthday. I wanted a kitty and wanted to name her Thomasina. So that’s exactly what happened. Had her for almost 15 years and she was the sweetest kitty.
Its so nice to have these videos to watch and travel back to our childhoods for a little while. Thank you for posting them!
You’re welcome! I love this little movie…Ms. Dotrice can act!!
The Vet has a horrible bedside manner. So sweet the kids having a funeral for the cat. I saw this on the Big Screen when it came out. As a child we went to see all the Walt Disney's movies. How sad, what Disney has become now. I would've even take my grandkids to any of his movies
The vet is the amazing Patrick Mcgoohan. Watch the rest of the show.
Oh, I would love to have this in spanish for my mom. She told me it was the first movie she saw in cinema when she was a kid here in argentina; and this is the only source I found of this movie online. Even english with spanish subs would work
I have been WAITING for this one, Brian!! ;-) Patty McGoohan and I go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back! Thanks a zillion for posting it.
Oh, you do? I need to hear some details! Lol!
I've been nuts about him since the Scarecrow years and Ice Station Zebra, not to mention Thomasina. But Ice Station Zebra was my favorite of his...he's ice, ice baby! @@keepingwaltindisney
Wholesome entertainment. A Disney speciality at the time.
Why was the stairway to cat heaven scene left out? That was such a memorable part of the movie. I watched this when it came out, I was 8 and had a cat that looked just like Thomasina.
Probably to make the film fit into two 45 minute segments for television. Running time for the theatrical release is about 98 minutes so something had to go. That’s my guess. I do enjoy that scene, makes you feel Thomasina is a bit supernatural….lol.
Appreciate all the care and attention in editing you pay to these episodes - I notice you somehow found this airing from a Hartford Connecticut TV station
Who are you looking for?
I really feel for veterinarians when they have to put an animal down. I imagine it puts heartache in their souls.
They go to heaven too!
The 1980’s Wonderful World of Disney closing theme music @ 46:41.
I never actually saw 'The Wonderful World of Color' in color because we always had black-and-white TVs. This film is one of my childhood favorites, and my introduction to two much-loved stars, Patrick McGoohan ('Secret Agent') and Susan Hampshire ('Fleur Forsyte.')
I also remember the actress that was in Mary Poppins.
I hope the continuation is on your channel. I hope to see the rest of it later.
Thanks for the upload.💜
It sure is. It’s on the Season 12 playlist!

@@keepingwaltindisney Okay, thank you so much!💜
I laughed at 1:14, when he said that he's a dog man and the cats reacted. 😂
Me, too!!! It was like, “Meow?” 🤣
It's nice that he has cats of his own. But, I don't blame him for being a dog lover. However, dogs and cats get along with each other as besties.
The young actress was cute in Britain's "Upstairs, Downstairs " TV show...... 1970s
My Goodness how is this possible ? me and grandpitaji so alike.... I never saw this clip yet I wrote about cats and dogs a fact in my essay writing, the book of essays
What has a kid just about every black cat I had I named him Thomasina, I even had a cat who disappeared for a couple of years. I said well dumb cat was acting like Thomasina.😊
They cut out the best scene, no Cat Heaven.
They did that for the tv adaptation, which this is. You can find the full theatrical version on RUclips!
I named my cat Thomasina she was black and white🖤🤍🐈⬛
I remember this movie and it's isn't on Disney plus.
Ma come ch no?
