    Very interesting method of storing sugarcane. The videos I've seen bury the sugarcane in the ground. Your method is easier. Where do you store the container with the peet moss/sugarcane?

      You can just put it in a cool dry and out of sunlight as much as possible and they should do great.

      Just to follow up, can the sugarcane be stored in an unheated garage using this method or should it be brought indoors? The garage can get down to below freezing at times in zone 8. Also, would it be helpful to put shrink wrap on the ends to hold in moisture?

    Find green papaya salad (Thai) or achara (Filipino). Both are so delicious.

    Hey brother young papaya is good eats.
    I’m half Filipino, and it’s good in chicken soup called tinula and also a pickled side called Atchara !!
    It’s about the concept- I’ve seen an Aussie dehydrate them into chips !!

    Holy cow man! Can you do a video on the papayas? How did you get them to fruit? I have been trying to grow them for 2 years now lol 😂

      I will try and make that my next video. I had to cover it all the way up a few nights got down to 25F. They are not ripening up. I have already started sprouting them for next year trying to get a head start on next season. I also did not know you had to have a male and female plant.

      That would be amazing. How old is the tree right now? Mine hasn't gotten big at all :(

      @@GardenForaged I planted it in a pot late JAN of this year. I don't have the means to over winter it so was trying to grow it in one year.

      @@sweethomealabamahomestead4504 that's great to know. When did you plant outdoors? Is it mostly in full sun? Mine didn't grow very much. But I'm guessing I didn't give them the best growing location 😞

      @@GardenForaged I put it in the ground around late April. Yes full sun. I'm starting them now in the house trying to get a head start for next season.

    Thanks for sharing. I live in zone 7b, and I'm thinking about planting some sugar canes this spring. Is there a variety that you would suggest?

    • @sweethomealabamahomestead4504
      @sweethomealabamahomestead4504  Год назад +1

      My are doing great, but I don't know the variety. I do now there are chewing kinds and juicing kinds and mine is the juicing since I could not find the chewing type.
