I love this dynamic. these guys are rowdy. i just now found this and am loving the fact that there might be more of their music i havent heard. thankyou for not singing or soloing....
The primary "riff" is only similar to LA Grange due to its rhythm. Raconteurs riff goes down one whole step while La Grange riff goes up to the 3rd and 4th- then back down.
wow! I love how Pat and LJ just open up the song. Although I think Jack is playing along too. Anyways, for some reason the bassline/riff reminds me vaguely of La Grange by ZZ TOP. Don't ask me why just does. I LOVE THIS BAND!
@vinniedurrant It's the b-side to the single Steady As She Goes, at least for a couple verses, there might be a different b-side for a different version
@1stp4ward well, it belongs to one of the "steady as she goes"-single cd's. you have to look on the Raconteurs' homepage, there under "discography" you can see some Stedy As She Goes singles, mixed with "Store Bought Bones" or this song, "The Bane Rendition"
@IWasBored12 yeah i just want the cd this song is off if there is one but this song the bane rendition is the alternative tune to "store bought bones" when they play it live.
@zepheadGT3 lol, the same thing happened to me! Saw you posted this 7 months ago, and I still can't find it on itunes or amazon. maybe cuz it's a bonus track.
You can get it on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Steady-As-She-Goes-Raconteurs/dp/B000EU1LP4/ref=tmm_acd_title_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= I got mine there years ago.
Hey guys, I've been trying to look for a way to download this song, but haven't found a way. Does anybody know of a safe downloading site I can use? Be it free or with a pricetag?
WoW! Hell Yeah! Love The Raconteurs! Been listening to The Raconteurs, Hey You!, My Chemical Romance, Sick Puppies, No Doubt, and Blink-182.... Hey You! is still pretty new, but they're waaay dope. Pop/Rock/Punk with a real cool edge. Plus they've got a cute chick singer :-) .....check em out..... search "hey you band taking over"
What kind of assholes release a song you can't buy unless you want to shell out $17.00 for a 2 song cd from Amazon? I mean, seriously, what's the point?
I love the fact that even though it's an instrumental, it's still a distinctly Raconteurs-esque song.
I walked down the aisle to this song in my wedding. Best choice I’ve ever made, other than the bride. It was legendary.
This is my favorite Raconteurs song. So sad I lost it for a few years.
this is such a cool song!!! i first head this on Pandora, and went to look for it on itunes, but couldnt find it!
OMG, thank dude!!! I was searched it for long time ago
This song just feels so bad ass ! Wooh The Raconteurs rock!
I love this dynamic. these guys are rowdy. i just now found this and am loving the fact that there might be more of their music i havent heard. thankyou for not singing or soloing....

TheSunflowerdaisypoo call it a day is a great one too!
Thank god... BEAUTIFUL!
This is amazing
Yeah my first thought too! La grange. I was waiting for the whole riff to be played, maybe as a tribute..
One of my favorite instrumentals.
Magnificent!
So good.
Reminds me of a Clutch instrumental!!
some 60 's vibe
this is song to listen to as you dance down the street dressed in a suit
This band rules!
Pure genius
@vinniedurrant It's the b-side to the single Steady As She Goes, at least for a couple verses, there might be a different b-side for a different version
This is great!
Good mix.
Does this remind anyone else of Green Onions by Booker T and the MG's? Both are awesome.
@1stp4ward well, it belongs to one of the "steady as she goes"-single cd's. you have to look on the Raconteurs' homepage, there under "discography" you can see some Stedy As She Goes singles, mixed with "Store Bought Bones" or this song, "The Bane Rendition"
The Bane Rendition is the best rendition
@IWasBored12 yeah i just want the cd this song is off if there is one but this song the bane rendition is the alternative tune to "store bought bones" when they play it live.
This is the Best Raconteurs song UuUr
damn smooth
They both have distorted organs, and have that jazzy rock feel
It was, but it doesn't seem to be there any longer. The Steady as she goes single seems to have disappeared entirely.
Classic
@zepheadGT3
lol, the same thing happened to me! Saw you posted this 7 months ago, and I still can't find it on itunes or amazon. maybe cuz it's a bonus track.

Excuse me, but why is Jack in the background, barely visible?? hmmm? Get that boy up front! xD

Hey guys, I've been trying to look for a way to download this song, but haven't found a way. Does anybody know of a safe downloading site I can use?
Be it free or with a pricetag?
Or you could just buy the CD single from the Third Man Records online store for $5...
Store bought bones demo?
No problem, man.
it reminds u of La Grange because the intro and; cut?
Isnt this from a 2nd released cd from the racs, something like the b-side version of the title: broken boy soldier?
Cant find it anywhere.
I think it sounds very similar to spirit in the sky by Norman greenbaum
it is
Incase it is off itunes just rip it from youtube.
Bane?
heylo
Benson looks yacked out of his mind in this photo lmao ;)
Hm, I knew those riffs from the live version of Store Bought Bones sounded familiar...
this song is so cool! someone accidentally pressed dislike
The only way I could find it is off of imports from the UK.
If only this song was on broken boy soldier
Sectillion it is, but only on the japanese version :(
@BeatMalll explain?
BANE?
WoW! Hell Yeah! Love The Raconteurs! Been listening to The Raconteurs, Hey You!, My Chemical Romance, Sick Puppies, No Doubt, and Blink-182....

The only song to ever defeat batman.
"La Grange"? Is you? kkkk

Two great songs, but not the same.

What kind of assholes release a song you can't buy unless you want to shell out $17.00 for a 2 song cd from Amazon? I mean, seriously, what's the point?

This is pissah.
