    Opinion:
    There should be a separate group for track day cars.

      Sir Sleepy
      Yep I agree. Put the Vulcan, Zonda R and P1 GTR in that class, then add the Sesto Elemento and LaFerrari FXXK too, as well as many other track hypercars like the 599XX, MC12 Corse and Enzo FXX.
      Would also be nice to have the F1 GTR and F50 GT, but they were made for racing. I think they would be Gr.1 cars.

      I've only taken my P1 GTR up to around 252 mph at Le Mans. This was with full downforce and the car bounced off the redline at least a couple times, so I'm not doubting it could go even faster.

    untuned on hard tyres, with me driving, the p1 and zonda r had almost identical times around catalunya and around kyoto-miyabi. But put softer tyres on and the mclaren starts to destroy the zonda. you can though tune up the zonda and tune down the mclaren so that they weigh the same and with the same power.

  • @EpicB
    @EpicB 6 лет назад +8

    This car's downforce seems underrepresented. It's fast but it understeers more than I'd expect. Still, I like the car. I'd expect this thing to have at least GT500 level downforce but it's more like GT3 downforce. I'm not too bummed out about this one being in Group X. Most prototypes would probably slaughter it anyway.

    • @notsparkytooth2645
      @notsparkytooth2645 6 лет назад +5

      No way it'd have GT500 downforce looking like a P1 with a few extra aero bits, those cars are straight silhouette racers after all. More GT3 levels seems accurate.

    • @Zeenithian
      @Zeenithian 6 лет назад +3

      You're imagining too much downforce for this vehicle...

    • @IDyn4m1CI
      @IDyn4m1CI 6 лет назад +1

      This cars downforce shouldn't even be adjustable and its still absurdly quick on a straight line. At least you can't adjust it in AC and it will not get even close to 232mph on the final straight in the Nordschleife. And no, this thing doesn't have nowhere near GT500 or DTM levels of downforce

    • @MrAyybee2cold
      @MrAyybee2cold 6 лет назад

      Naveek Darkroom less downforce than GT3 more than GT4.

    • @projectr2451
      @projectr2451 6 лет назад +2

      Vinícius Sales
      Yep, I doubt the P1 GTR does 232mph on the Nürburgring in reality. Assetto Corsa feels like it has the most realistic performance for the P1, P1 GTR and LaFerrari FXXK.
      There was an acceleration video that is now deleted, but in Assetto Corsa, the P1 did 0-100km/h in 2.8 secs, 0-200km/h in 7.0 secs and 0-300km/h in 16.4 secs. The real life claims are 2.8 secs, 6.8 secs and 16.5 secs respectively. So the game is very close to the real life counterpart.
      As for the P1 GTR, when I drive it in Assetto Corsa on Monza, my highest trap is 199mph (320km/h), and there’s a real life video where it traps the same. But in GT Sport and Project Cars 2, I manage higher than 205mph (330km/h). I wish GT Sport had KERS and DRS features. We should be able to deploy it manually like in Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2 and even Driveclub.

    As someone that is a bit of a Cam Am expert (which means I’ve read Pete Lyons book on it so many times the binding was ruined) I’m wondering about your statement about McLaren vs Chaparral. The only thing that I can thing about your story is the Chaparral 2J “sucker car”, but McLaren never produced anything like that nor anything with a moveable aerodynamic device that the 2J was banned for

      Naveek Darkroom - It would hold it’s own imo. I’ve been using the 787B today with the lowest downforce, sports medium tyres and detuned the engine to 648hp to best match the actual performance of the 787B and it’s a fun battle not to be last... usually with the Nissan GTR-LM and other 787B in the race. Would’ve loved to see what the P1 GTR could do...

    I trialled this out vs the 650s GT3 and the GTR BMW McLaren.
    This P1 is similar to the Vulcan, with respect to its braking. Seriously bad!! Even the Aston can get used to it with earlier braking.
    Catalunya it's shockingly bad, at stock setting ( no BOP option!! ) iffy on the first corner before the straight in 1st gear you can here it othe auto drive it spits and really can't get it to be comfortable, no grip at all on RH tyres. Had to use RSS to even get it to handle the track. Tried it on Interlagos, slightly better, but still nothing like Chris Harris demonstrated on Top Gear. Maybe its the Akebono brakes lol 😉
