I'm new to graphics, just purchased Affinity Photo and Publisher just a month ago, I'm having a fun time learning and I appreciate your videos and the way you teach, clear and easy to understand instructions.... I just want to say thank you.
I say get all 3 I use Affinity Photo for editing Photo I use Affinity Designer for Concept Art, Logo's I use Affinity Publisher for Print design, Poster's, Chruch Programs, Books, Web memes, Web Backgrounds, Concept Art Backgrounds, etc. Side Note Affinity Publisher is the sleeper App in my Opinion. You can use it for more than just print work, you have access to all the tools form Designer and Photo into one program.
I'm glad I invested in the entire Affinity Suite: If you jump between Photo & Design a lot, the best way to do it is through Publisher's hub, even if you never lay out a page in your life. I like Publisher for poster design work - anything where text & images are involved (like comix!)
Hey! Yeah the link in Publisher is great, you can do anything! I love to use publisher from time to time for certain things, so easy and clean! thanks so much for watching Celeste!
So it's more like : Affinity photo >>>>>> Adobe Phtoshop + Lightroom. Affinity Designer >>>>>> Adobe Illustrator. Affinity Publisher >>>>>> Adobe Indesign. Thanks for your tuturial man , it just helped me see clearly.
@@bydesignmethodYou're welcome but sadly i just un-installed it unfortunately, it doesn't support Arabic not even the fonts, i guess I'm stuck with Adobe.
Thanks so much for all your videos. I have used photoshop for years, until...... I now have affinity trial versions. I was deciding on which and watching your other videos. This helped a lot. The way you share and teach, for me is perfect. You don't go to fast, or to slow and your brilliant!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate you watching my videos and taking a moment of your own time to leave such a wonderful comment. I'm so glad you find them helpful. Thank you!
Nicely done, this video is exactly what I was looking for. I only need Photo but will purchase a V2 Universal license based on what I learned here. I was wondering if you have any idea on when V3 will roll out. Thanks again
Hey, Thanks so much for watching. The universal license is the best choice in my opinion. V3 shouldn't be out for a least another 2-3 years based off the timeline between V1 and V2.
The videos are getting more professional, great presentation. I'm not up to speed with Ps these days. How would you say it compares to AP? Maybe a comparison video??? tap tap tap🙂
Hey Steve! Thanks for the wonderful comment! PS is definitely making some big leaps with the use of AI which I hope to see with AP sometime soon as it's becoming industry standard. I still find PS slow and clunky though. Will consider a comparison for sure! need to spend more time in PS myself to freshen up.
Affinity still has lacking a lot of features and it has some slight flaws that adobes stuff does better. Ill have to wait for it but for now in the professional environment I just cannot rely fully on it. But I have big hopes for it
@@JuhoSprite That is a fair comment. Affinity is missing some features for sure, Adobe is an absolute power house with features. Too much AI in my opinion but this is the world now. Thanks for watching, I do appreciate it.
I'm so glad it helped, if you have any questions just let me know! happy to answer. Thank you so much for watching and taking a moment of your own time to leave me a comment. Truly appreciated.
@@bydesignmethod Appreciate it! I see you have a beginner guide video for Designer, which I'll be watching tomorrow some time, since it was my final choice. I'm sure I'll have a few questions afterwards, as I'm more comfortable using Procreate but I wanted something solid for the PC too.
Am here asking myself the same thing because I wanna do graphic design like flyers and posters by adding shapes manipulating images but I don’t want to use photoshop I don’t know which one to use either photo or designer🤷🏽♂️
Hey 876! Both work awesome for posters. I think you would be best with Designer - it has the pixel persona so you can edit photos but it has all the full features of a vector software. Create really cool shapes, unique cools like the knife tool, etc. I personally love Photo and use it for everything but Designer really opens up the creative doors with the tools it has.
Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed it! I think you'll really like Affinity, it's very powerful once you get used to it - fast and smooth too!
Affinity Photo in all of those cases. It's my favourite for most projects. Unless I'm creating a magazine, a brochure or some sort of need for vector graphics (working with brands on logos, etc) my go-to is always Photo. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! Very concise and straight to the point! I have a question, though. Which one would be best for comic lettering? I would buy all the licenses and not worry about it, but because there's no pricing in my country's currency, it would blow my budget way too hard, so I can only afford one of them, maybe two if I REALLY push it.
Hey, I would suggest Affinity Designer for what you're going for. Designer lets you alter text much more than Affinity Photo, it also has artboards to lay out different styles in one document. I love Affinity Photo, but Designer is a real powerhouse for creativity. Happy to answer any questions and thank you so much for watching!
@@bydesignmethod Thank you for answering so quickly! You just gained a new subscriber! I guess I'll go with Designer, then. I was really on the fence on whether Designer or Publisher would fit my needs the best, but Publisher seems to be a bit too on the "normal book" side of things. Maybe I'll eventually just get all three of them, but right now, just Designer seems to be enough for my current needs.
@@alguem5996 It's tough because Publisher is also amazing and you use Designer right inside the Publisher workspace (but you would also have to own designer) the two together is a powerhouse!
but for landscape design? at th moment i use photoshop and i do collage method and with Ai i do concepts. can i do these things with affinity? adobe is becoming soooo expensive and bully like window
Hey, Affinity Photo is the closest thing to photoshop available. It does lack some features but is very powerful. Affinity Designer is used for actual concepts in architecture with scale/measurements. The cool thing about designer is it has a 'vector' workspace by default for all vector graphics and a 'pixel persona' for pixel graphics (like having a light version of Affinity Photo built into the program)
