For the plane crash at mach 1 use logic to force flight at a set height and use the grid from the test map to collide. Should work since you got rid of a dimension using the logic
They could also get a 3rd player in there with a firework launcher to give a point they should be aiming for. I'm not saying that'd be more reliable, I'm saying they need every help they can get when 3D space is involved.
0:33 for anybody wondering I am pretty sure that going supersonic under water never has been achieved before, due to the fact that the water resistance is way higher than the air resistance, also sound travels actually faster underwater wich would require a even faster speed for supersonic.
you've gotten great at going supersonic, so a hard challenge for you would be to reach water supersonic speed, which is about 5200 km/h. you could try to reach it in air and land in water, going supersonic underwater for even just a moment

This could be a series of handshakes through ascending dimensions, so now all you have to do is figure out mach handshakes in the fourth dimension!
You know what could be an interesting idea for a video? Building a smaller version of the Lockheed CL-1201. It's a design for a VTOL aircraft carrier plane.

Ok so here's an idea to make non test map supersonic collisions easier. You have a person set in a location and you both place a beacon on that person in that spot. Then when you guys just aim for that beacon spot.

For planes, you could use an altitude sensor to keep your planes at exactly the same altitude and use the test map grid to line up horizontally (You’d have to have a really stable plane though)
You should do a battle where you start at 0 or 1 power core and every round add more and more power cores, and if you want a further twist, make it so you switch build every round as well, adding on to your opponents design that you will use

The inaccuracy of aiming for the names was because your seats weren’t at center of mass when steering so when you turned you’d move the other person’s point of aim further away from where it was.
Have the bottom aero-dynamics pull you down and the second to bottom aerodynamics push you up (just a little more than the one's pulling you down.) Then the boat should slot into the surface of the water.
For the planes you can just use a target. In the danger zone there are these rings of fire so you can both fly through the same ring of fire, Khan from the one side and you from the other, so you both collide on a spot you both know how and where to hit. Should be easier than any logic blocks or other fancy stuff
Do the maps loop when you reach the edge? If so, and if it's not a crazy distance to travel at mach 1, you could just keep looping until you guys course-correct into one another.
You could use a gun to give you a hint where the other guy is as you're getting closer to each other. But the window on that might be too small to make a difference.
The seat has bright green aerodynamics so it wouldn’t change and the performance would be worse on the vehicle because it is just more unnecessary weight added

It could be separate evolutionary paths (each player sticks with the same plane they had from the start but changes it each round) so that there's more diversity and like reactionary evolution and stuff Eg if your opponent uses thrust vectoring, next round you could put on an emp instead of an extra smart cannon

Trailmakers is a game ruined by bad developers, and your main game, scrap mechanic, you’ve just lost all want to even TRY to make stuff in anymore. Scrap mechanic has tons of possibilities. Way more than what you’ve done. Your laziness has turned your content stale and not fun. I think it would be best for all of us if you took a couple months break from RUclips and got your life together - you haven’t given us a good video in over 2 years.

technically accounting for salinity and temperature it could be significantly higher, about 5500 km/h

Small Idea for AIming: Why not put a waypoint where the opponent is and aim for the waypoint instead of the name?

Using a bridge opening like a stunt spot would give an "easier" approach to collision at mach 1
