Zealantis has nice utility in marincess since the effects lock you into water and you’re actually not able to summon back your opponent’s non-water monsters.
@@endofuwu2146 It is because the effect of Zealantis says to summon as many of those monsters as possible. As the player that activates the Zealantis is the one that has to special summon back the monsters, if they have restrictions to the monster they can special summon that turn, it could basically become a board wipe.

Ever realized that this phrase can ALWAYS be said? Like, if you have a 50/50 question and you choose one answer and it's the wrong one, you can always declare that you should have trusted your gut feeling, because both possible answers were 'gut feelings'.
It would be awesome if Konami gave quizzes just like this in Master Duel that go more in depth with certain ruling circumstances that you may or may not run into. This way more people can be taught how to better themselves with their deck and find some new combo's along the way.

I think that the convulsion of nature rulling makes sense actually, think about it: Those rullings needs to be as generic as they can be and if you think about a card that revealed more then one card from the top of your opponent deck while convulsion of nature is on the field, it would be weird to assume that the second card is revealed since its face-up but not visible. Meaning for me that revealing is more like 'accounting one card existence' then 'been able to see a card front'
Not really. Logically, you can't reveal something that's already known. It's literally konami said so. If a card revealed multiple cards from the top, imo it would make more sense if you just can't activate that effect.

If a card effect says "reveal a card from your hand" you would be able to reveal a card that you just added to your hand via search and your opponent already know that is the only card in your hand, therefore, revealing is ,again (for me), "accounting one card existence" and not simply "making something unknown known". If convulsion of nature said "Turn both players decks upside down revealing them" them the top card would be considered revealed and the effect would not work because the cost was not possible to be paid.
@@sonikblade It's not the same. If you add a card, even if it's your only card in hand it's still considered unknown by the game. The same if you flip face-down a Machine type monster, you can't activate System Down to banish it only because you've seen that it's a Machine type monster.
Question 7 is EXACTLY why I feel the rulings in Yu-Gi-Oh can get beyond stupid... in any other card game, the rule would be "DO as much as possible", and that case, you check the top, but do not summon since you cannot due to lack of room... yet here's Yu-Gi-Oh forcing a discard for some obnoxious reason which isn't highlighted anywhere on the card itself...
The Zealantis question is also why using evenly matched against a field of small floowandereeze birds does not banish them face down but face up and will return to the hand when they can, take note of that if you use evenly matched.
Convulsion of Nature was one of the first cards I tried to look up in Master Duel only to learn that the card doesn't exist. I might assume that it's because they didn't want to program the deck being backwards or something.
It's a real shame because I would absolutely love to build a deck with no wincon that only has the idea of sharing is caring with like convulsion, respect play, that bell, gift exchange and whatnot where all we do is share cards and card knowledge.
Question 5 is actually such a good question for the upcoming format - in the start of the Damage Step, if you for instance use Forbidden Droplet and send Agido or Kelbek to mill 5, their triggers can go off before the end of the Damage Step, as can any effects that trigger after those mills eg a Tear fusion effect
the thing about convultion of nature is that it's not Keword revealing the card. like you couldn't pick it up off the top of your opponent's deck to make sure you know it's effect because then you'd reveal the next card beneath which is still supposed to be secret information for the time being
Technically, the last ruling also applies to parasite paracide, a card to ever end up face up in your opponent's deck if convulsion of nature is not in the deck

Question 4 kinda tripped me up not because of any thing mentioned but because colossal fighter can miss timing and there is effects happening so I thought it would miss the timing and be banished.

I’ve been getting heavily into Spyral again on Master Duel for the first time since 2017. I’ve unintentionally found some weird interactions and i hope they come up here.
The "face up does not mean its revealed" makes much more sense when you understand the meaning of "revealing" Basically revealing means giving that card's information as part of the game, even tho the card is face up in your deck, you as a player cannot read the card therefor is not a "revealed card"

According to the 2021 rule revision the 5th revision says that in the rule book there’s a section where it says main deck, and it should be deck, therefore it includes the extra deck, I know that Spyral Resort must shuffle back a main deck monster to fulfill its maintenance cost but with the wording on that rule revision now I'm confused, in the video they say it still works like that but I'm not sure if that changes something.
idk if its cuz im a casual and so i dont see it the way a veteran player would but i think the reveal distinction konami ruled makes sense, even if you wanna argue it's a technicality. its an example of ygo not having keywords working against it; it is about the mechanic itself of revealing a card to your opponent, not whether or not your opponent could maybe see what card you have on top of your deck from sitting in front of you due to the fact that its currently flipped up.

The ruling for question 8 part 2 encapsulates everything I hate about Yugioh rulings. The funny thing is that Alex's final complaint was that sometimes, Konami just decides you just can't do something for some twisted reason. Ironically enough, in that particular question it was the opposite: Konami just decides you CAN use Double Helix for some twisted reason. Yugioh rulings are quite frankly incomprehensible.
But the Super Agent Last Resort Question You asked is different than the scenario. The attack had already been declared in the scenario, destroying last resort after declaration does not change anything and it will still attack directly. If in the event of a replay, it would no longer be able to attack directly.
Another scenario for question one involves Gladiator Beast Tamer Editor, if it goes to the GY and gets special summoned back, it can activate its extra deck special summon again. P.S. Sam and Blue-Eyes..........It should've been Destiny Heros!!!!!

About that dmg step question, i have a somewhat similar scenario, but that resolved a bit differently. So, in duel links, i was facing the npc playing trickstars using an aromage deck. I had more lp than my opponent and attacked their foxglove witch with my rosemary. Even though rosemary effect says that "while your lp is higher than your opponents, if a plant monster you control attacks, the opponent cannot activate monster effects until the end of the damage step", the npc still managed to use foxgloves witch gy effect. Shouldnt foxglove witch gy effect be stopped by rosemary's effect? If not, why it still works?
Wow that first question had me hella confused, coz I thought the question was going to be can u use spyrals effect after it was hit with book of moon, which I thought u couldn’t coz I thought that it prevents the resolution of the effect. Would that of only been the case if book was used and spyral tried to use the effect on the turn it’s summon after being booked?
I hope we get a rulings explanation in the future from Konami, especially with cards involved in question 8. I will keep my hopes low on that, but they do exist
I have a few theories - One is that Spyral Double Helix doesn't reveal as cost (like Dangers), for instance. My big suspicion though is that Convulsion of Nature just straight up isn't considered to be "revealing" anything though

coder I think moving forward you should change the ask a judge lifeline for something else pretty much every time someone tries to use it they end up not doing it because the question they thinks is too straightforward.

There used to be a kid that cheated at Yugioh on the playground. He always said the dumbest "rulings" that never made sense to anyone with more than a month's experience with Yugioh. Unfortunately, the people who crafted the intricate and sensible rulings at Konami were infiltrated by that guy who cheated on the playground back then. We can curse him for the absolute illogical rulings that have no explanation besides ""Konami" says so.".
Ask for a judge ruling should be the same as if it's unable to be answered reverse a point that was minus over because usually when people have to ask the judge in this case it's just asking how it resolves so if that's the case it should be redacted but instead as a point reversal if a judge cannot answer but that's just my opinion for season 3
So this leaves me with a question.. If the agent can no longer attack directly when the equip get's destroyed as it was already attacking. Then why can masked her anki still attack directly if you imperm it on attack declaration? Or is that like.. a whole different kinda thing?
If you imperm Anki on attack declaration it can no longer attack directly and a replay occurs. If you forbidden chalice it during the damage step then the attack goes through as well as dealing full damage since the fact that halves it is negated. Don’t ask e why but those rulings are official(in the OCG anyway ,TCG doesn’t have official rulings because konami is a joke)

Wow that first question had me hella confused, coz I thought the question was going to be can u use spyrals effect after it was hit with book of moon, which I thought u couldn’t coz I thought that it prevents the resolution of the effect. Would that of only been the case if book was used and spyral tried to use the effect on the turn it’s summon after being booked?

I have a few theories - One is that Spyral Double Helix doesn't reveal as cost (like Dangers), for instance. My big suspicion though is that Convulsion of Nature just straight up isn't considered to be "revealing" anything though

coder I think moving forward you should change the ask a judge lifeline for something else pretty much every time someone tries to use it they end up not doing it because the question they thinks is too straightforward.
At this point the ask a judge lifeline should just be a Skip the Question lifeline

11:19 that’s wrong the card say if it destroys a monster by battle then you can banish that monster and one other card meaning cause colossal Resurrects itself you can only banish the face down it doesn’t say you HAVE to banish the monster to be able to banish the other card

There used to be a kid that cheated at Yugioh on the playground. He always said the dumbest "rulings" that never made sense to anyone with more than a month's experience with Yugioh.
Unfortunately, the people who crafted the intricate and sensible rulings at Konami were infiltrated by that guy who cheated on the playground back then. We can curse him for the absolute illogical rulings that have no explanation besides ""Konami" says so.".
Ask for a judge ruling should be the same as if it's unable to be answered reverse a point that was minus over because usually when people have to ask the judge in this case it's just asking how it resolves so if that's the case it should be redacted but instead as a point reversal if a judge cannot answer but that's just my opinion for season 3
So this leaves me with a question..
If the agent can no longer attack directly when the equip get's destroyed as it was already attacking. Then why can masked her anki still attack directly if you imperm it on attack declaration? Or is that like.. a whole different kinda thing?
If you imperm Anki on attack declaration it can no longer attack directly and a replay occurs. If you forbidden chalice it during the damage step then the attack goes through as well as dealing full damage since the fact that halves it is negated. Don’t ask e why but those rulings are official(in the OCG anyway ,TCG doesn’t have official rulings because konami is a joke)
