    Would've been much easier to unbolt the manifold from the down pipe first.

      To be honest it might have been fine the way you took it off because the down pipe is in a tighter spot as well sometimes those bolts break

    Im going to do this to my 89 civic I bought for 1000 bucks. Only has 125000 miles on it. Going to get torxe headers for it. Flat black. Its a 1.5 SOHC and its seriously lacking in the power department. Also going with a K&N cold air intake and new throttle body. Hopefully that will give it a little umph.

    • @jadehorizon1881

      Jade Horizon Yeah also going to get a nice exhaust kit for it too. So all in all it will run me about 600 bucks for everything. Which is cheap as hell. Was also looking at rebuild kits for the engine also. Only $120 for that. But the engine is still in great shape. No knocks or pinging at all.

    • @jadehorizon1881

    Hey so I just got an Srs exhaust manifold and I'm having some questions about the O2 sensor. I'm having to relocate the sensor to the down pipe but my old sensor doesn't reach far..so I was looking at some sensors and was wondering if a "downstream sensor" would reach all the way down

    • @jadehorizon1881
      @jadehorizon1881  3 года назад

      Yeah, the one we had just barely reached. I’m not too sure if the downstream sensor would reach, I would recommend taking some measurements first. If you know how to solder (actually pretty easy and inexpensive) I would suggest just extending it yourself.

    • @jadehorizon1881
      @jadehorizon1881  4 года назад +2

      Jesse Gunn we left the stock one on yes, and the laws in my state are pretty lenient. Here we do not have to get emissions checked. If you want to get more power of course I would suggest a high flow cat and a full exhaust. He isn’t really after power with his civic though, just wanted to clean up the engine bay. Different countries and/or states/provinces have different emissions and automotive laws, so you should check that out first. But usually if you have a catalytic converter you should pass emissions.

But the car will go in limp mode and won't go over 15 miles an hour until I let it sit for a while then it will drive normally in the light will go back off. UnderTheHorizon he said he couldn't fit the o2 sensor and put a bolt that came with it where sensor goes, and his check engine light is on. His asking if you know how to resolve the plroblem.

    • @jadehorizon1881
      @jadehorizon1881  6 лет назад

      Oh well the check engine light is on because he doesn't have his 02 sensor screw in. Does it say what the issue is? Is the o2 sensor too long, are the threads different, or are the wires not long enough. There should be 2 spots to put the sensor.

    • @jadehorizon1881

      We didn't weigh them but the old one was cast iron and the new one was steel so theres a pretty significant difference. My guess would be close to 10lbs.

    Did the computer freak out when you ditched the O2 sensor?

    • @jadehorizon1881
      @jadehorizon1881  5 лет назад

      We didn't ditch it all together, there were 2 places where the O2 sensor could be put. So we just relocated it to the lower spot.

      Just unravelled the tape and pulled the wire down a little farther, u can avtually get quite a bit of slack. But you can also buy a longer one.

    What about the sensor on the manifold?

    • @jadehorizon1881
      @jadehorizon1881  6 лет назад

      Stock, the sensor does screw into the manifold but on the new headers we installed, there was an option to put the sensor on the down pipe. We wanted the bay to look more clean so we re-routed the sensor to the down pipe. That's what your question was referring to right?

    • @igpp694

      did you need to make any mods or the lenght was enough to get there ?

    • @jadehorizon1881
      @jadehorizon1881  6 лет назад +1

      No we didn't have to do any mods, but if you noticed when we were attaching the down pipe to the catalytic converter we did struggle a bit because it was slightly shorter than the stock one.

    • @Alejandromolina849

    • @mattr6128
      @mattr6128 6 лет назад

      I've got a crack in my exhaust manifold 2001 Honda Civic I was told that I should just replace the whole thing with the catalytic converter and manifold all in one piece. If on the road too long I get a check engine light p1361 top dead center sensor noise. Should I replace O2 sensor and camshaft position sensor when replacing this manifold and catalytic converter

    • @jadehorizon1881

      I believe his goal was just to make the engine bay look a little better. As for the gutting, also not for speed or weight savings he was in the process of adding sound deadening. :)
