    Update: October 16th 2020. One of the 60A bushings exploded. Not the fault of Innovative at all, I took the set of "250hp" rated bushings and ran them at 400+, and ran them hard. Launches, flatshifts, the whole 9 yards. So my feedback here is make sure you are choosing the correct bushings for your power level, I should have left the black 75A's in.

      Oh.. didn't see this until after I ordered a set of 60A.. hot side or cold side that exploded? maybe a hybrid (75 on one side. 60 on the other) could work? 🤔

    • @TheCarPassionChannel
      @TheCarPassionChannel  3 года назад

      @@Baj79 It's only going to be a possible issue if you're running above the recommended power or if the car sees heavy track use. I can't remember off the top of my head which mount it was, but there's certainly one side that always fails first. I made a couple videos prior to the Tuscon Dragway 1/4 mile where I pull out the mounts, show their condition, etc. If you have time you can scroll through that and see which side it was

    One thing I noticed with my innovative mounts is that the brackets were actually shipped to me backwards like yours in the video. Don’t know how that happened but I spent a substantial amount of time trying to figure out why my engine would not fit where is needed to be… then I watched your video on them. So I agree, innovative needs a diagram or something included with the mounts

  • @andrewcowden9704

    You probably want to put a locking nut, a lcok washer or at least threadlocker on the through bolt. As much NVH as the BP produces, that nut is likely to find its way onto the highway in short order. You'll likely have to go with a longer bolt if you add a locking nut or lock washer.

  • @HooverTuber
    @HooverTuber 5 лет назад

    IDK - I'm not a fan of these types of mounts because I feel like there is a hinge effect, where the torque axis of the motor (along the crank) forces these type of mounts, that have bushings connected by a bolt along the axis to swing like a hinge. The video sort of proves my theory because every mount showed the same amount axis rotation, but they did differ in vibration because that is related more to the actual bushing hardness. Why re-invent the wheel? Just go with Jaguar V8 bushings designed for higher torque at about 1/10th the price of these custom pieces. The Jag bushings bolt right up to the stock Miata motor mounts. A lot of racers run these.

    What about the Mazda factory competition mounts?

    • @Nasonix2
      @Nasonix2 4 года назад

      @jsr462 I used the Mazda factory rubber mounts 40% stiffer or so. It feels good at first, light increase in NVH but it fades completely away about about a week. The performance enhancement over the factory rubber mounts is existing but definitely not for track use IMO. If you autocross / canyon drive the car with factory power levels, you're probably fine with a 1.6l and the MFC rubber mounts. But IMO if you either 1) race on a road course or #2 have any power adders on your car, the factory mounts 40% stiffer didn't cut it for me personally...
      After about 2-4 weeks I was missing shifts again. Not as bad as before but still not great. Then I got the AWR mounts right after I boosted the car. The NVH is pretty severe but could be a lot worst. After a few months of driving on the AWR mounts, and especially this past year, I still have major trouble with the 2nd to 3rd shift for some reason... Sometimes it's even hard to find 2nd from 1st... I'm at 190wtq/220whp on a 1.9l GT2554r
      Also running Delrin Diff bushings with the 70duro AWR engine mounts you'd think I should be fine. But I still seem to never make 2nd - 3rd whenever WOT it misses about 9 out of 10 times... so IDK..
      I'm getting to the point where I might try and custom fab a tranny mount to keep that flippin shifter where it needs to be!?
      Good luck out there yaw lol

    So far, the 01-05 is not mounting properly on Driver's side. Dipstick does not allow the mount to sit flush on the block and will NOT bolt up. OEM bracket has notch by dipstick that allows it to bolt up just fine. Design flaw. 01-05 guys, including MSM, be aware.

    @TheCarPassionChannel are these the old awr bushings or the new larger design ones? because that might make a very big difference! the new ones with the larger bushing might be in a sweet spot between the innovative 60 and 75. and better rated to handle the horsepower as well

    So, what happens when you lower the engine? Does the transmission sit an an angle? Will an under skirt not fit anymore? What happens?

    6:35 haha true words ;D I tried to do the coolant reroute yesterday, when the second screw of the thermostat housing instantly snapped in half :/ Any CPC pro tips for fixing it or shall I just drill it out and tap a new thread?

    Hey King, I’m purchasing some mounts at the moment and can’t find any info on them. I have a VVT 96 NA8, did you use the mounts suited to the car or engine? Cheers

    Do you think the height on the innovate mount could be adjusted while on the car? Take the center bolts out, jack car up and then re-insert? Or would that be too hard to align everything?

      Keep your eye on AWR over the next month, I've heard they're working on a new mount that could be exactly what you're looking into

      I have those and I love them. No increase in nvh that I've noticed, but I also know I have a miata not a Bentley. Motor stays in place and makes shifts alot easier

    How long should it take to do the whole replacement without boning up the assembly?
