Love the shad lures for northerns. They eat them up, and it's usually not to hard to unhook them. The minnow lures can be a problem, as they tend to get the rear treble down their throat or in the gills.

Just curious. Why troll with the 300? Kicker should push that boat 5 mph right?

At Max throttle, maybe it would push it 5mph. We would definitely be working it really hard. The 300 does it without skipping a beat and you can make tighter turns with the big motor which really helps when you're trying to hug a weed edge.
