    Those parameters are spot on mate. You've cycled that tank like a pro! It's all about the 1 drop per gallon of ammonia, that's where I went wrong and had a 40 day battle to cycle the tank. Great video. 🙂👌 Loving the channel.

      Hello Jay, thank you so much for the comment, appreciate your support, I have seen a few people mention in their videos that you should cut the dose down now, you were one of them, my tank cycled in just under 2 weeks, I was really happy, thanks again mate.

    I know this goes a bit back, but yes, the program works!, depending on the filtration and media you can cycle as fast as 10 days correctly. Thanks for the video!

    I will be completing the cycle soon. I won't be able to get fish for another 2 weeks, do I continue to dose 2ppm ammonia and how often?

    Your tank is cycled but i think its a light cycle. It’ll cope if you introduce fish in slowly so that the bacteria can build up to cope with the extra load as you add them in.

    Alright mate I’ve been fascinated with this method of cycling. I am putting together my first build in 2 weeks time, Waterbox Marine X 60.2. Really wasn’t keen on waiting 3-4 months like my mate did for his tank to cycle naturally but informative and evidential videos like this have put my mind at ease and gave me confidence that I’ll successfully cycle in a fraction of the time. 1 little question though, when you were adding your additional ammonia drops is it still a full dose like the first dose or is it scaled back a bit? I am currently on the lookout for live rock which I am finding hard to come by 👎

    • @BeardedReef
      @BeardedReef  2 года назад

      Hello mate, yeah Dr Tims is brilliant, I will be using it on my new tank too, does exactly what it says it will, ive also got the marine x 60.2 which arrived this week, when I add the Ammonium Chloride I only add 1 drop per gallon at all stages, not the 4 drops that the instructions say, if you add only 1 drop per gallon you will be fine! Live rock seems to be a thing of the past now, I prefer to start off sterile as I know there are no pests and I can control things a little better.

    I left my filter and wave maker on in a 13gallon, I added Dr Tims about 6 days ago, should I add another bottle and turn filters etc off? I have been getting Ammonia and Nitrite/Nitrate levels on all my tests so I know there is definitely something going on. Thanks!

    • @BeardedReef
      @BeardedReef  3 года назад

      Do you have all your filter socks/floss/sponges and so on still in the tank? You need to remove them when cycling the tank

    • @RaptureSniping
      @RaptureSniping 3 года назад +1

      @@BeardedReef I had the black sponge that came with the tank. I have the fluval 13.5 g kit. So yes I did have everything running. I added the entire small bottle thru out the course of the week which I was told to do by that at the store when I purchased it.

    • @BeardedReef
      @BeardedReef  3 года назад

      Don't listen to your store, always follow the instructions on the bottle, you should have removed the black sponge as per the instructions too

    hi mate, Good video as usual. I have finally managed to get enough RODI made to get my tank filled. Whooo, that was done around 8pm last night by the time I mixed salt and got the temp up etc. My PH is around 8.2, Temp is 26 and salinity I lowered slightly to 1.024. I am going to leave it a few more hours before I throw in the One and only and the amonia, which I bought about 2 weeks ago, thinking I would of had water in well before now haha.
    I like the idea of the Spreadsheet. I will do that as it will be so much easier to follow. will let you know how I get on mate.

    • @BeardedReef
      @BeardedReef  3 года назад +1

      Thanks mate, that's really good that you are ready to go, just make sure you only add 1 drop per gallon of Ammonium Chloride and not the 4 drops that the bottle says, will.work perfectly if you only add 1 drop per gallon

    I fault Dr Tim's crappy directions. Overdosed my 15g with 4 drops per gallon not realizing that it shouldnt be higher than 2 ppm.
