  • Last time out in Assetto Corsa Competizione on Low Fuel Motorsport, I was a triumphant race winner. Today, ive got a real opportunity to keep that hot streak going in the Go Setups GT3 Sprint at Zolder.
    I’m starting from P4, and I’m only a few tenths off pole position. It took me 157 attempts to win my first ACC LFM race. It couldn’t happen again, could it?

    Guilty of chuckling when the board flew onto your windscreen and you crashed into the wall , Fantastic way to start the video if not the race 😆. Not enough is said about the quality of the editing , Tv Cam etc, it truly delivers a racing experiance in its entirety 👌. Top top production! . Absolutely brilliant mate , and your driving was great too under pressure 🍻

      Hahaha what a nightmare! I thought if I carried on driving as fast as I could on the grass, the bumps would help bounce the boarding off… trouble was, I forgot about the walls 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thank you for the kind words too, much appreciated.

    You never fail to put us in the seat with you and take us along for the ride with yet another exciting and immersive CR Simracing production. Excellent coverage and some superb racing. I know it is not a favourite track for many but because of its tight and short layout it never fails to provide some close exciting racing. Thank you Chris

      Thank you Nij, funnily enough Zolder is one of my favourite tracks. I’m very much in the minority! But I always seem to go well here… when I saw it on the schedule, I felt quietly optimistic that I’d have some decent pace. Just a shame that I couldn’t quite maintain my one-lap qualifying pace over race distance.

    Wow, another great race, Chris! And once again, I shake my head at the quality of drivers in LFM lobbies. That pass on you in the chicane was stolen, and any gentleman racer would have given it back. Unfortunately, there's no live race control in these online lobbies, so you didn't even have that to hand down a penalty to him. The first race incident didn't look intentional... just very unfortunate. At least it happened on lap 1 so you you didn't waste much of your time. Anyway, glad to see you got a top-5 finish! Hard fought and deservedly won!

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  3 месяца назад

      Yeah I was hoping/expecting to get the position back. One of the few times when I wished there was a slowdown penalty! Usually I find them a hassle in the other sims, but it would have helped me out there! Thank you Eric 😃

    That second race was the best of yours I've seen. Definitely from a spectator's perspective 😂
    There were multiple times when you were a bit more aggressive yet still very safe. Six months ago, you would be ~ 5 positions further back, even w/ the same pace😢, easily giving up positions or wasting effort trying a pass were there's very little chance of success. Instead several times here you set it up several corners in advance then made the pass where there actually is some possibility of success 😂

      Thank you! Yeah I definitely feel like I’ve made some real progress in the past month or two. Changing cars has really helped… I feel far more comfortable in the Lambo, and it’s helping me drive far more confidently.

    Great job. You're lapping faster than I am as well. Think my fastest is around 1.29.7. Picked up some podiums and a wet win this week already, mainly thanks to my ELO being tanked by idiots around Spa. I've just noticed the WIDE range of ELO in that race. You beat people with ELO as high as 1600!! Impressive. Most impressive.
    Your race management seems to be improving as well but spare a thought for the guy leading the entire race I ended up winning this week. Wet race. Two seconds clear towards the end of the last lap and I'd gone into race management mode. Then on the final straight before the start/finish straight, I see him go into the pits!! He got a drive through. He starts ranting on chat about a back marker causing him to get a track cut warning. So I looked at the replay - yes, the back marker was being a stubborn idiot but was as quick as we were and wasn't causing him to lose any time but he was getting wound up, flashing his lights and eventually caused him to cut the middle chicane on the last lap. If he'd just looked at the timer, he'd have seen I wasn't catching him and could have just stayed where he was and chilled out his way to the win.
    Back markers do seem to be a bit of a problem around here. Last night I had one who was quicker than me almost run into me a few times trying to get past. But I was using my noggin. The guy behind me in the race had been catching so I made sure I was in front of this stubborn back marker to act as a buffer between me and the other driver, who was probably raging.

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  3 месяца назад

      Zolder is always a good track for me, I usually go well here in any sim. Plus, I’m really getting the hang of the Lambo now, so feeling a lot more confident.
      Backmarkers are always an issue at Zolder though, combination of a short lap and narrow track with lots of chicanes. Luckily I didn’t encounter any in the races, however qualifying was very tricky… I had to abort several laps when I caught up with people going slow on the racing line (presumably to give themselves a bit of a bigger gap to the car in front).
      Definitely pays to be sensible, sounds like you had exactly the right approach. Congrats on another win! I wondered if I may get one too, but I wasn’t able to consistently produce my one-lap qualifying pace during the race. Been a very good week of racing so far though!

    Once again you had me on the edge of my seat with your racing.
    Intense side by side action, as one guy has said beautifully, the work that you must put into making these videos.........its just fantastic.
    Brilliant, absolutely brilliant 👏 👏
    Can I ask........? Since you now use 'Go-Setups' have you found your times have improved?

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  3 месяца назад

      Thank you! Ahh I don’t actually use Go Setups… they just sponsor the LFM races this season, so I give them a shoutout. However I have started using some free setups I found on RUclips from a guy called Fri3d0lf… he shares quite a few ACC setups so, if he has one on the combo I’m racing, I’ll use that. If not, I just go for default. I’m definitely getting faster, but I think it’s more to do with the change in car… the Lambo is much better for my driving style, and has helped me raise my level a bit 👍

    This trotthain overtake was full on purpose. Does lfm do anything against this? But a nice race. 25 minutes pure pressure. I couldn't stand this xD. The TV cam is also really good. Loved it. Commentary was on point. As always 🔝🔝🔝

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  3 месяца назад +1

      I guess you probably could protest it with LFM for them to look into it. But really, it’s a shortcoming of ACC. You will get a track cut warning, but that’s all it is… a warning. You’re allowed 3 warnings, and any after that will earn you a drive through penalty. But some people abuse this… it effectively means you get a few ‘free’ track cuts to gain time. Thankfully it’s only a minority though!

    • @TobiDnz
      @TobiDnz 3 месяца назад

      @@chrisrogerssimracing If it's an intentional track cut you can definitely report it on LFM. But it is hard to prove when there is only a single instance ... could have been an accident. Great racing and commentary, thanks for another superb video.

    I like zolder, but the two times I started this week in rookie season I got blapped in lap 1 both times. (and both times not my fault). I reported this, but it doesn't makes the race enjoyable. I will never not finish a race even if I am dead last like the first race on Zolder after 3,5 minutes repair time.
    Rookie series, now I get why people say dont race for positions, just survive without incident to get to 5+ SR :D
    Anyways, I love your videos! They are sooo good, entertaining and enthusiastic! fells like we are watching a live race on tv!
    I stream my races on twitch but maybe I should entertain the idea of doing some youtube videos aswell. It takes a bit pressure off of me to read the chat and interact with people so I can focus on the race. Hmmm

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  3 месяца назад

      That’s exactly why I only make edited videos, and don’t do live streams! I need to fully concentrate on my racing… if I try to read chats or interact while driving, I’d spend more time crashing than racing 🤣 Yeah it was a blow in race one, I went back out after repairs but was 2 laps behind everybody else. Ended up finishing 17th out of 19… thankfully two people DNF’d!

    • @DeeJOldskool
      @DeeJOldskool 2 месяца назад

      I try to do that, to get out of rookies but can't help get involved with the thrill of the race. Doesn't help that there are many people happy to stay in Rookies and race aggressive. I got out of Rookies previously and then had a really bad race, back to rookies and the next track I kept losing it into the wall so was back down to 3 SR
