Richter this time (not as by Bach or Beethoven) completely free .... as he would be the composer himself .... fantastic moments of music ... so precious ....
Fritz Maisenbacher, Prokofiev himself has recorded these pieces. Richter’s interpretation and tempi are quite different from the composer’s. Sometimes the character of the piece is entirely different in the two interpretations. Generally, I prefer Prokofiev’s interpretation who plays his pieces very freely, in an almost improvisatory style and always with a strong sense of directionality. But, as you have mentioned, Richter is quite superb in his playing. Definitely one of the best ever performances of the Visions Fugitives.

Хочется добавить: как же мы не ценили своих гениев и не смогли обеспечить им достойные звукозаписи для жизни в веках! И ведь это не какой-то провинциальный зал, а главный зал всей страны!
В студенческие годы люди ночь стояли за билетами...проникали без билетов,лезли по водосточной трубе БЗК зимой, проникали без билета через окно мужской курилки... сейчас страшно посмотреть... видел,как целые ряды слушателей медленно покачивались,как в сомнамбулическом трансе,когда Рихтер исполнял медленные части сонат Бетховена!такое было воздействие!
