Therizinosaurus is a herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous period, about 70-66 million years ago. It is known for its incredibly long claws, which could reach up to one meter in length. These claws were likely used to strip leaves from trees and vegetation.
Therizinosaurus was a theropod dinosaur, but unlike other theropods such as Tyrannosaurus rex or Velociraptor, it was not a carnivore. Instead, it had a beak-like mouth and was adapted to a plant-based diet.
Therizinosaurus was also a relatively large dinosaur, reaching up to 10-12 meters in length and weighing up to 5-6 tons. It had a long neck and a small head, which was perched on top of a long, curved neck. Its long arms with sharp claws, combined with its large size, made it a formidable herbivorous dinosaur.
Despite its unique features, very little is known about Therizinosaurus. Its fossils have been found in Mongolia and China, and scientists continue to study and learn more about this fascinating dinosaur.
