those ''cliffhanger'' in the k12 music videos are because these music videos were taken directly from the k12 movie, in the actual movie there is no cliffhanger at the end of songs because the story goes on passing through the musics from the album
My interpretation is: *Cage:* her experience in the music industry and how she is treated as a latina. she is told to dance sexy as latinas "should" dance provocative. she is also in there with an asian and african american so maybe she is saying that minorities are treated different. the principal's son with the money is her label only caring about her making money. the classmates are the people who criticize her while she works her ass off. *Detention Room:* detention is a metaphor for depression and how everyone just wants to medicate instead of listening to us and taking mental health seriously. we are told to cover up our negative feelings. When she regained her powers, it showed that she realized what she had to offer and she was free. She left detention and the cage. (I'm guessing she has more involvement now with her label than before)

3:25 I would like to point this out, as I do when I see creators reacting to this song. One day I was watching this scene and I was zoning out staring at the screen. And I noticed at the time that I put the Melanie Martinez dollars were lip syncing the words. I watched the scene multiple times to confirm it and they are lip syncing the words.
After the 1st day back to homeschool, I was so ready for another video. Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a safe & exciting celebration. Great song! Great video. ❤️
Something interesting about this video is that in this other scenario of the cage the only three girls who are being forced to dance are: One of Asian, African American and Latino ethnicity by Melanie. This is a critique of this idea that people of the aforementioned races have to care how they look, how they dance, and how they sing, especially Latin Americans.

Thank you for clarifying! Those non-resolving cliffhangers were really annoying. Now it makes more sense to watch the movie version
@@TwoOldDudes if you guys hadn’t done them all in the same day, you’d have known after the first video lol
@@TwoOldDudes the biggest example is Wheels on the Bus and how the bus swerves and the clip ends. the film continues what happened with the bus.
