I'm not sure why your channel suddenly got recommended but I'm glad it did. Thanks to you I know about this game now that somehow went under my radar for years. Bought it and I have a feeling it is going to become my life for the next while.
Haven't seen much of the game, yet. It looks like this is basically Terrafirmacraft, but in an open source engine? Cause I've seen it as a Flatpak and in the AUR as well. The similarities are eerie sometimes, like the prospecting and chiseling. Maybe I'll check it out.
i thought this too when i first heard about the game, and found out it basically is from an outsider's perspective, so much so this game started off as vintagecraft, a mod for minecraft that permissively was aiming to become a spiritual successor to TFC with it's own twist (back when TFC was stuck in 1.7). Turns out according to other random people on the internet the lead dev supposedly got frustrated with minecraft's modding capabilities and ended up making an entirely new game instead. i ended up buying the game myself and while the similarities between TFC and vintage story cannot be denied, VS expands on many of these mechanics to be much more immersive and overall more fleshed out, and of course they do still have unique mechanics not found in TFC at all (clayforming and smithing are two that come to mind). ironically for the two examples you mentioned: they have two prospecting systems ingame right now, the default one is a RNG-based mechanic that works nothing like TFC's prospecting, and the second one is exactly like TFC's version with a configurable range (which is disabled by default). chiseling is pretty much the same, except it's a 16x16 grid and you can add other other blocks into a chiseled block (i.e. you can chisel marble, but then fill the chiseled parts with another block like basalt, or anything), this basically allows stuff like miniature pixel art and completely customized blocks. i'd say it's definitely worth checking out, especially so for people who like TFC or even people who enjoy older versions of minecraft over the newer updates.
@@materexpolska9924 hopefully in future installments, they’ll add the necessary mobs or models for just that. For now, 1.18 is planned on expanding the lore and 1.19 is a “dejank 2.0” for optimizing. Correct me if I’m wrong. Right now, mods like Rails & Mine-carts and Primitive Survival add more to the game, which I do recommend doing.
@@materexpolska9924 the roadmap for VS has steam power as the end game goal. Boats and minecarts too, with improvements to its mechanical power system.
Hytale is going to be based off this game and apparently a Hypixel dev actually took part in creating Vintage Story (from what I know) cant wait for HYTALE!
So It's safe to use still hot parts that come out of the anvil?? And even so, you can just throw them in water to cool them down anyway? Ok, that's nice xD

The stone skipping I feel is a bug, because spears do it too, and when thrown a lot more downward.

Yeah, some say it's based on Terrafirmacraft, but now this is a standalone game. If you're tired of Minecraft, I'd say this is worth checking out :D

That's what i though but TFC have engineering, trains etc. While Vintage Story dont. No horses, tamable wolves or so
