    What is the mechanism of vaccine induced myocarditis and how many vaccinated people are walking around with mild asymptomatic heart damage?

    • @Zidana123
      @Zidana123 3 года назад

      "What is the mechanism of vaccine induced myocarditis" Unknown
      My _personal theory_ would be something like loose spike glycoprotein (or some spike glycoprotein subunit) travels to the heart, binds with ACE2 receptor on cardiac cells, the resulting glycoprotein-ACE2-receptor complex is flagged by the immune system as not-self, eliciting production of antibody against this complex. Because of individual variation, some subset of individuals produce this antibody while others don't.
      This proposed mechanism would also explain why Corona-chan herself induces myocarditis as well as why people who have been exposed to Corona-chan and are then vaccinated are more likely to develop myocarditis. They are being exposed multiple times to the spike glycoprotein.
      "how many vaccinated people are walking around with mild asymptomatic heart damage?" Unknown and unknowable, unless large segments of the population are screened for it. Should also be specific here and note that myocarditis is not itself the same thing as heart damage. If myocarditis is severe it _can lead to_ the formation of scar tissue, which damages the heart.

    Something to consider when looking at the numbers. Prior to the adenovirus vaccines, Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia was exceedingly rare and was typically only seen in patients with Heparin exposure. Myocarditis is much more common (3.1 million cases in 2017) and it’s generally seen more often in young men. With it being a more common ailment in this particular population prior to the mRNA vaccines, it might be more difficult for the regulating agencies to determine if there is significant increased risk to young men with these vaccines.

Many in India who could got their 2 shots sometime back, which is good, and now more than a billion are in the waiting list. Local governments just like in US have taken over and have put the necessary lock downs. My friend said India has become one huge family, and who ever can help are helping out with oxygen, medicines, ie whatever they can to help out people. In New Delhi, Sikh community has been supplying oxygen and food to the needy. There are millions behind the scenes who are doing a lot to help out people to ease their pain! Hopefully this virus will soon end in India and the world over. Keeping fingers crossed.

    • @Zhiperser
      @Zhiperser 3 года назад +2

      @@davidbarry6900 I don't think they care about social minefields as much as you might think. The problem is more likely that they aren't sure if it's hormonal or not. If it's hormones you could recommend trans people taking HRT to go with their transitioned sex recommendations, and if not then to take the vaccine recommended for their birth assigned sex. The risk is small enough that letting someone choose between the two isn't unreasonable. What we don't need is a blanket statement for everyone.
      Perhaps the risk is small enough that they'd rather not say one way or another, but it would be nice for some more detailed recommendations.

      @musarimassakhi4845 3 года назад

      @@davidbarry6900, your comment is insightful. Sadly, such hesitation is borne of ignorance, perhaps due to the siloed nature of knowledge in different sectors. I suppose this is where translational research scientists such as Dr C. become an important bridge.
      Indeed, gender responsive vaccination is potentially a politically explosive issue. However, the speed of adaptation to life with Covid evidenced in early 2020 suggests we have the global capacity for adaptation toward potentially life saving gender policy and practice if needed.
      Should the public sector remain hesitant about making bold statements, one hopes that the emerging Covid private sector will drive change, if only to protect bottom lines. One motivation toward shared problem solving is that for minority communities worldwide, including LGBTQ, lack of clarity on gender specific safeguards may further compound preexisting factors underlying vaccine hesitancy. That is one issue government and private industry can agree needs addressing.

    What worries me is that more people appear to have had severe reactions than actual Covid itself. In my small family and friend circle we've had
    3 deaths within 3 weeks of vaccine. 2 in their 30's and one who's 65. All blood related. Stroke and Heart attacks
    Where I work there's been two more deaths from heart attacks. Again, one in 30's which is being investigated but recently had vaccine.
    And now my dad's friend died following the vaccine who was healthy, didn't smoke or drink. Vaccinated then immediately felt sick then suffered a stroke dying the following day.
    To my knowledge, NONE have been reported / yellow carded linking to vaccine. I can't confirm that for all of them but at the time, none of them were considered to be vaccine related.
    And yet, with Covid, the opposite approach was adopted. My mother is pressuring my dad to have the vaccine which he doesn't want (moreso now his friend has died) and my mother still has headaches every day following her 2nd 4 weeks ago. To me, this is deeply concerning and I'm now extremely hesitant.

    From politifact: “Walensky didn’t give a percentage for CDC employees, saying they have the option to report their vaccination status but that "the federal government is not requiring it, so we do not know."”

    Thanks as always John. I have a question about the numbers. The data today regarding TTS and the Jannsen vaccine referred number of doses (7.4 mil). The data from Israel and the Pfizer vaccines referred to 5.8 fully vaccinated people. Wouldn't that mean 11.6 million doses? If so, the number of cases of TTS per dose are actually quite comparable between the two studies.

      I'm scheduled for my second dose 7 weeks after my first.
      I reckon spacing the doses so very close together as 3 or 4 weeks has made adverse reactions to the second dose worse.
      There is already a study out that the 12 week spacing produces a stronger mid-term immunity (nobody knows about long term immunity).
      I expect that in 2022 the recommendation will come out to space out the vaccine doses by 6 to 8 or 6 to 12 weeks, but officials will want more and stronger data to make that call officially.
      This is just my opinion as a layperson closely watching the situation.

    • @cyberfunk3793
      @cyberfunk3793 3 года назад

      @@Lost-In-Blank I reckon the exact opposite: the side effects will be worse after the longer spacing because the body has had more time to build immunity. The studies show the first shot increases efficacy long after the 3-week mark, it's just getting started building immunity at that stage so it very possible if not even likely that also the side effects will increase with longer intervals up to some point where it levels out.

I had really mild fever the next day after the shot. But I felt something is off. I felt like my brain is behind my body and felt dizzy with movement. I started to be really anxious. After 3 weeks of the shot, I developed tinnitus. Now I'm 8 weeks after the shot and still feel dizzy and hearing constant tinnitus. I'm really scared for my life. It took 3 months of slowly doing gentle exercise and building up to get my HR back to where it would normally be.

      To me it suggests that my bodies reaction to covid and therefore the also the vaccine causes heart complications.
      My resting heart rate is about 55bpm and my heart tends to react pretty quickly to increases and decreases in rate. I cycle 200km and climb up and down mountains with relative ease - so I wouldn't describe myself as unhealthy.
      Given that this issue seems to be cropping up mostly in younger males this tends to tally. (NFL and the US army have reported cases of this with both the virus and vaccine)
      Obviously it's possible that there's an underlying issue... Just as there may also be an underlying issue with those who experience clotting issues with AZ/Covid.

    I was wondering if there are any other reasons why people are getting side affects. For example immediately after being vaccinated people will do extreme things like take illegal drugs, get drunk, take a big dose of vitamins or antibiotics , fast for 24 hours, do some sort of endurance exercise etc etc etc. There are so many variables for example does smoking make side affects worse. With all of the different behaviours going on post vaccination it seems the vaccines themselves are well and truly safe enough. For me I experienced vivid anxious dreams for the first 2 nights post vaccination. This is what always happens before I get a cold or influenza. It is always a sign of my body reacting to an infection however there was no illness and no other side effect.

    A couple things from the CDC’s COVID-19 VaST Work Group Technical Report;
    “Within CDC safety monitoring systems, rates of myocarditis reports in the window following COVID-19 vaccination have not differed from expected baseline rates.”
    “Information about this potential adverse event should be provided to clinicians to enhance early recognition and appropriate management of persons who develop myocarditis symptoms following vaccination.”
    So while the rates of myocarditis that they are currently seeing is NOT any higher than would be expected in the general population background rates, the VAST Work Group decided to note it in the meeting minutes so that clinicians would be on the look out for a POTENTIAL problem. Basically they’re giving clinicians a “heads up” and probably having them ask myocarditis patient’s about their vaccine history, just in case the numbers begin to increase above the typical background rates.

      Medicina article:
      Outcome Reporting Bias in COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Clinical Trials By Dr Ron Brown
      www.mdpi.com/1648-9144/57/3/199
      "Abstract :
      Relative risk reduction and absolute risk reduction measures in the evaluation of clinical trial data are poorly understood by health professionals and the public. The absence of reported absolute risk reduction in COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials can lead to outcome reporting bias that affects the interpretation of vaccine efficacy. The present article uses clinical epidemiologic tools to critically appraise reports of efficacy in Pfzier/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccine clinical trials. Based on data reported by the manufacturer for Pfzier/BioNTech vaccine BNT162b2, this critical appraisal shows: relative risk reduction, 95.1%; 95% CI, 90.0% to 97.6%; p = 0.016; absolute risk reduction, 0.7%; 95% CI, 0.59% to 0.83%; p < 0.000. For the Moderna vaccine mRNA-1273, the appraisal shows: relative risk reduction, 94.1%; 95% CI, 89.1% to 96.8%; p = 0.004; absolute risk reduction, 1.1%; 95% CI, 0.97% to 1.32%; p < 0.000. Unreported absolute risk reduction measures of 0.7% and 1.1% for the Pfzier/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, respectively, are very much lower than the reported relative risk reduction measures. Reporting absolute risk reduction measures is essential to prevent outcome reporting bias in evaluation of COVID-19 vaccine efficacy. "

      January 4, 2021
      blogs.bmj.com/bmj/2021/01/04/peter-doshi-pfizer-and-modernas-95-effective-vaccines-we-need-more-details-and-the-raw-data/
      My interpretation is Pfizer cooked the figures by setting the endpoint by specifying PCR confirmed disease and thereby can ignore the additional 3,410 symptom disease cases split 1594 / 1816 vaccine/ placebo, resulting in relative risk reduction of 19% instead of the published and promoted 95%. Very disturbing!
      The Pfizer efficacy percentage is calculated as:
      162/170 x 100 = 95.29%
      In other words, 170 people instead of 3,580.
