- A rare sit-com from 1967 starring Reg Varney, Pat Coombs, Desmond Walter-Ellis and June Whitfield, focusing on miss-matched neighbours.
Out of the three original series spanning 23 episodes, only 7 are known to survive; one episode from the first series and all six from series two.
How wonderful thank you. I noticed in the first episode about the car. there were 3 people from dads army in the show. wonder what happened to peter Jones? Once more if you have any more I would love to see them. Thank you. 5/feb/2021
Loved this as kid. I rem episode when the pretended to go abroad
this is a rare treat thank you
I just notice that during the credits there're using the same font style as they would later use in Dad's Army.
never heard of this before.
Me neither until I added it to my collection..! ;)
Jimmy Perry acted in this.....David Croft produced it.....the genesis of Dads Army.
I like on the buses, but this is rubbish.
Watch something else then
Terrible acting
It's a particular style. The standard sitcom was written and acted a bit over the top. I watched this in the 60's.
Seemed to have little rehearsals as I heard a few almost fluffed lines, but I guess that makes it more realistic than today's overly polished and almost robotic delivery of line's.
Agree it did seem as though they were reading quickly from a dog eared joke book, far to many one liners being fired off
wow you have made my year I've always wanted to see beggar my neighbour as I think Reg Varney and Pat Coombs are two greats of comedy. I wonder if all the other episodes from Series 2 will ever become available do you have any more episodes.
Thanks for your kind comment, it's always nice to have positive feedback. This is all I have of the series at the min I'm afraid, should I get anymore, you'll find it here :)
+British Comedy Rarities thank you very much I'm a massive fan of classic Ray 60s comedy there's also a sitcom from the 60s that featured a belief in the starring role Joanna Lumley that's another one been waiting to see
cheers for upload reg varney is a legend
