The only thing that concerns me is the coaching and what they do with those weapons. In a perfect world, Allen would be back at Def coordinator and Gruden would be HC.
I think Allen is the better leader over Gruden at this stage. Gruden would make an amazing staff addition however
Nah, I had concerns over DA but he led the team to a 7-10 record with Andy Dalton of all people. Payton went 9-8 a year before with Jameis/Taysom. That’s not a major drop off at all, then the defense finally came together towards the end of the last year. If the D can get their turnovers then this should be a great year for DA. He got some nice local talent that Payton wouldn’t/didn’t make too.
Penalties and injuries.. that’s what you’ll see from the saints again this year

Derek Carr is a damn good starting QB. Idk if they can win it all but the way their division and conference is shaping they could very well be in the NFC championship game. Derek Carr is definitely good enough to get them there in that conference

Im a raider fan but born and raised in Bakersfield so i always root for carr when not playing the raiders. Imagine the saints and raiders in vegas for the big game, odds are slim but that would be crazy
Disgruntled 30-year Raiders fan here - I like Carr a lot but my biggest complaint about him in the last 9 years has been his pocket awareness. If he's got that fixed and starts avoiding pressure better, he's going to be really good this year.

Hard to criticize the play calling when the o-line is struggling 🤷🏽♂️ I just felt like the whole organization struggled with Sean not being in the building, that guy was the saints for 16 years and was gone overnight but you don’t replace a guy like that overnight, he’s one of the great ones smh if he would have let the player personnel handle the draft I think we would have more then one Super Bowl I think if Drew would have left a year earlier we would have 2 or 3 Super Bowls because Brady wanted to play for Sean Payton in New Orleans smh he is a great coach but was ok at best picking players especially early in the draft, seems like he was better in the late rounds and free agents, rookie free agents 😂

Our offense is stacked, the only player that isn’t a starter is Keith kirkwood and kendre miller. All the rest of the back ups could start all season and you’d have success with.

Derek last year had to NFL rushing leader. A top 5 slot receiver in hunter renfrow. A top 3 NFL TE Darren Waller...and the NFL top rated WR Davonte Frickn Adam's. One of the least sacked Qbs. We didn't make the playoffs.

I'm not gonna lie Andy Dalton had a perfect TD drive in the preseason with the same offensive weapons last year. I'm still holding out on Carr till he proves me he doesnt lpse us games with interceptions like Dalton did to us in the Arizona game last year.

Ive seen many analysit say saints will easily pick off 10 wins if they can stay healthy. Just enough wins for a division win, and a playoff spot in 3rd round. Carr just didnt have the o-line protection he did with the raiders. Which made him vulnerable to sacks, pressure, and bad judgement calls. Saints have ALWAYS had good defenders. And even tho they were terrible last year, their defense ranked topped 3 best in NFL, even with injured players. And their o-line ranked amongst the top as well. Their only struggles was recievers and QBs. Which seemed to be addressed so far this year. Also the saints have what no other team has, player diversity at their fingertips. Where lots of players can switch around their roles without issues. Trainable for any messed up situation ahead. These guys are hungry for another good season. And ik they at least want another division win

I think Carr will be a better QB with the Saints but be warned Carr will lose trust and does not have good pocket awareness. He is good when everyone does their job but when the play breaks down he panics and can not process new information quickly. Pretty much Carr will only be as good as the players around him. He will elevate good players but will make bad players worse. He will not take over a game and will it to victory. Raiders fans see him as the most frustrating QB because he will play like a top five QB for a stretch and then crap the bed when you think he has turned the corner and you end up with 6 to 10 wins. Hopefully this will change with Saints since he will not have to play as many cold weather games. If you want to know a secret he is one of the worst QBs in the league when it gets cold.

Sorry I've never really watched Jamis play - Is he a mobile QB/Redzone running threat? Carr would struggle in the Redzone sometime and we used Mariota as a Utility/Gadget... But I guess you have Hill for that (in fact, I think we were copying the way Hill was used with Mariota back then) Anyway - I'm guessing Carr will keep Jamis off the field this year - which is a shame because he looked good. But good luck to Derek - he will be missed.
The Saints may do well in the NFC considering how weak the conference is but they barely beat the Chiefs' 2nd and 3rd strings. Mahomes played a total of 6 snaps.

Derek Carr never had good offensive linemen with the raiders. Carr always had to score 25 to 30 plus points a game for the raiders to win. Raiders defense was any good either. Derek Carr is a good quarterback if you give him time.

Most Raider fans have watched Carr since the 2014 season.
He flashes here and there, outside of the 2016 season Ive never seen Carr win more than 6 games straight and that's at his very best. He's older now and I think he'll continue to struggle against top defenses. Certain teams out there have defensive packages that just shut Carr down. "Happy Feet" = no deep balls.
Well considering when a player has a poverty defense and incompetent coaching staff it will be hard to win 6 straight and your only going to see flashes of the talent. Because there isn’t a way in football for someone to sustain talent in a poverty situation. The flame will die out eventually if there isn’t gas around it.

Until proven differently and Im curious to see how it goes for Carr over the next two seasons but there is a blue print out there on how to play defense against Carr.
Most likely he will have his hands full against certain defensive schemes. Even the return of Chucky to Raiders, Carr seemed to show signs of struggle like he did in 2017. As a Raider fan I'll never forget the 2017 season it was week 3 against Redskins- right then Carr's passing game was exposed and it was up/down ever since. Pretty much modified versions of the "Tampa Two" or 2-deep Safety or just a fast Secondary unit like KC had in 2016 when KC swept the 12-4 Raiders the best offense they had since the SB
A number of reasons outside if Carrs control. If the raiders won all of the games that they had a double digit lead in the half, then they would have made the playoffs a second year in a row. But Carr was sabatoged by mcDaniels

Carr can move the ball Ive always said that for years on other channels but in the Red-Zone is where Carr seems to hit the wall and of course Raider's defense has been close to Zero for too long. Im not here to bash on Carr Im just stating he never really got over what he was weak at with the Raiders and I thought for sure Chucky was going to take Carr to next level, but hey... I wish him well with Saints. Im actually looking forward to Raiders vs Saints withing the next couple years. But for my Raiders we look good right now smoking the NFC West 9ers and Rams, next is Cowboys.
