Barring injuries, this year is on the coaching. I'm still not sold on DA as a HC. As a defensive coordinator, he's really good. But to be the head coach, the ones that are successful tend to lead and demand the best of their players. I see DA as more of a strategist and not that demanding leader that coaches like Payton are. So it is a good fit for Carr to be there and for Gruden to help tune the offense to fit those players. I'm short, Carmichael got some terrific help. Dennis Allen was Carr's coach his rookie year. He lost his job 4 games into the season after an 0-4 start. He is NOT an offensive minded coach and he needs to rely on his OC to run the offense. With Gruden in the corner I've a feeling things will be ok for Carmichael. Besides, with the Gruden offense and Carr allowed to read the defense and call an audible to exploit it (something McDaniels chewed Carr out for doing despite Carr winning three games with game winning drives, two in overtime), then you will be in good hands. But his secret weapon is that he blocks like a Mack truck, something Waller never could do. It is no accident that when Waller was injured early in the Dallas game (essentially missing the game) and being out for the next five that suddenly Josh Jacob's running became unstoppable because he had Moreau in to block for every run. Once the Raiders saw that, Moreau played the entire last game of the season even though Waller was back, but Waller played horribly dropping 7 of the 9 passes thrown to him..Moreau vastly outplayed him. Last year Moreau was the starting tight end with Waller injured yet again and missing virtually the entire season. What happened? derek carr is a generationally bad quarterback inside the redzone as well, and unless pete carmichael is not a puppet, i don't see how he helps carr much jameis is probably better than carr anyway, but both options clear timid andy dalton, so i suppose they'll be better off by default
Derek Carr is a generationally bad quarterback? You gotta be on something to write that. Not a single analyst, player, GM, or head coach has ever said that about Carr. He's had multiple 4,000 yard seasons with mid or lower tier receivers, he was in the running for MVP in 2016, he holds most of the Raiders franchise records for QBs, and he is on the all-time NFL qb lists in multiple categories. He did all that with defenses that were worse than any other qb has had to endure. When Drew Brees had similar defenses, he had all but 1 losing season. C'mon man, do better.
@winnumber101 of course you don't. Generationally bad is a ridiculous statement. Everything that I said factors into that stat. Does Carr still score touchdowns? Of course. He has 217 so far, putting him 38th all-time. Every single quarterback ahead of him on that list has played more seasons.

I'm a "Raider for Life" (age 72) HOWEVER: I'm SOOOOO Excited about the prospects of THE SAINTS this year. Of course, I'm a BIG CARR fan but also ANY TALENT from BYU is STELLAR in my book. Jamaal WILLIAMS and Taysom HILL are exceptional talents and even better as HUMAN BEINGS. I have been pushing FOR YEARS for KYLE VAN NOY (also a superior BYU talent) to JOIN UP with DEREK CARR not because they are long-time BESTIES~~ but because VAN NOY is an incredible DISRUPTOR on the line. Responsible Civil Actions, to me, determine the CHARACTER of a TEAM as a whole and the success it achieves. People like Kamara (imho) DO NOT belong in the NFL. You really don't need that kind of stain on your team. Just sayin'...... GO SAINTS. There's no substitute for WINNING. 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Looks like my Saints have a real chance this year to do sum great wit DC, AK, jimmy G, olave, thomas, and a backup RB with Williams? Our offence gonna be nasty
Sure- they look good on paper, but they always do. They've got to play the games, and back-ups need to man-up when there are injuries. Otherwise, it'll be SOS - Same Old Saints.
Youre essentially just hyping up a bunch of mediocre and unproven players. And their HC is still Dennis Allen. Yeah their defense will be pretty good but that about it. Offense will be dissapointing and Derek Carr will prove the type of player he is once again, MT will either regress or get injured. The Saints arent wining more than 9 games and I can say that with confidence. This isnt the Payton era anymore
Will be interesting to watch how the Honey Badger intercepts the leading Qt. back Mahomes. He may give Mahomes fits. Mahomes will probably tell Coach Reid. What possessed you to trade the Honey Badger??
no payton. no drew brees? get over it saints are not the same they are 3rd in division at best. look at how much the panthers and falcons did this offseason then compare unbiasly to what tge saints did this offseason when we all had same record last season, then tell me saints still going to be on top. falcons took 3 of you ppl on defense including yalls defensive line coach who done alot for your defense is now our defensive coordinator
I appreciate the confidence but I am gonna hold back any positive feelings until we're actually dominating. Like it or lump it our offensive coord and DA were absolutely awful and it shows. Equally our entire D Line has switched out on the off season so we need to see if they gel and Penning also has to have a breakout season for us before we can say with any confidence that we're gonna make a splash this year.
I agree with everything you are saying but I would add that saints lack depth. Every year the starting roster looks lit but we never end the season with all starters healthy. Since we have been trading up in the draft every year, the cupboard is empty in that respect. The safety position is a liability and if we can’t stop the run, it doesn’t matter how explosive the offense is, it will be a long season. I too reserve judgement. Everyone is crowning them division champs but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone sneaks up.
@@jackhunter4534 I really could see Atlanta doing it tbh. They have all the pieces there. Their main issue is they choke like a toddler with a lego set. But if they can just get a small bit of luck they could easily get the top of the division. Especially now with the Bucs being worthless
Watching CARR for the last 9 years, I can assure you that he, alone, will make up for whatever frailties exist in the Saints coaching ranks. CARR is one of the best in the NFL for his moxie in Audible calls at The Line. I have no doubt that the Saints will take the Division this year. If the team would pick up Kyle Van Noy, that would go a long way in cementing the Saints Defense as Number One in the League. (Derek and Kyle are "old time buddies") Raider 4 Life. USAF VET
This is the same thing that was said last year and the year before that and the year before that. Every year analysts and arm chair qbs in New Orleans say the Saints are playoff bound and going to the SB before there's even been a snap. I don't doubt they will play better this year but as for the rest we're going to just have to wait and see.
This team is nowhere close to a “deep” playoff run. A team primed for one of those would be the equivalent of having a proven coaching staff, we saw a very strong Saints team in 2017-20 be their peak, but it wasn’t quite enough (though to be fair they got robbed against the Rams). This current team still isn’t CLOSE to that level they were before. Would like to respectfully address a few things. Firstly, the staff, which you had labeled as a group that “we need to wait and see.” True, but I just can’t ignore the all too evident red flags with both Dennis and Pete. Dennis should be a top 3 worst coach atm, there was many instances of his dishonesty with the whole Jameis Winston situation during the season, where Jameis was mistakenly telling people he was being sidelined because of his injury, which didn’t seem to be the case because of the hc. I think there’s a very *obvious* reason this guy can’t withhold any semblance of consistency as a hc, he simply doesn’t have any alpha in him, and the answers he gives as to why they lose seem to be jumbled, like he picks new excuses depending how they lose. The way they seemed to pick up more juice towards the end of the season looked to be a good sign (although they beat a Minshew-led Eagles, lowkey Hurts would’ve bopped them), but that final game against Carolina kinda puts the nail in the coffin. It’s not that Dennis doesn’t understand football, he is just that type of clumsy person mentally who can’t take on that adversity, and lacks accountability for when things do go wrong. Among my peers on the sports coma show, I heard that nobody was holding any player meetings during the Saints struggle portion of the season. That just tells me the leadership was also very much lacking in the room as well, maybe Carr can change that for them, but I think that will depend on if he even plays well or not lol. You see, the problem with Derek Carr is that we know he has had seasons where you can plausibly put him on that Dak Prescott, Kirk Cousins or Matthew Stafford echelon, but it’s like boxing / MMA where what have they done most recently? Carr in 2022, simply did not play good (though a lot of people use the Raiders’ staff as the scapegoat), but the way he played was like bottom 5 level, he should *not* have been that bad even if he’s sensitive about the coaching. I’m not saying Carr will be this bad, but if he doesn’t improve significantly from that, then the Saints are in more an even more nightmarish season, because that was worst than what Dalton was doing, considering Dalton was working with rookie WRs + rotational o-lineman, meanwhile Carr had Adams/Jacobs/Renfrow/Waller/Kolton Miller, etc. The way I see it, Carr can *maybe* be decent again, but even if he’s back to his old-self, what then? He’s a 10 year vet and never won a playoff game, and this is one of my main concerns when you claim this Saints team is primed for a deep playoff push. About the weapons, I very much like Olave and Shaheed, but I don’t rlly view Olave as a true #1 receiver (alpha guy like Jettas, Chase, Adams, etc.) Olave has a very diverse route tree, but isn’t very dominant when he needs to go get the ball, and not much of a threat when it comes to YAC. I agree Carmichael needs to use Shaheed more tho. Jamaal Williams is decent, the things I hear is that his path to the leading TDs last season seemed pretty easy considering he wasn’t the one doing the heavy lifting when it came to the run attack for the Lions. Still, we’ll see what he could do here. Ngl too (this might make me seem like a hater but hear me out lol), I think they passed on a few guys who are better than Kendre Miller in the draft. Tyjae Spears the Tulane kid was still there, Roschon Johnson from Texas (a personal fav), and Tank Bigsby from Auburn who did a lot of heavy lifting for Auburn’s offense. This might seem too nit-picky, but in the Saints’ eyes, I believe they think they’re getting a premiere potential future starter with Miller, I just believe there were guys who are simply better than him that they passed on. I’m glad you too acknowledge the weakness the Saints’ D-line has. To put it bluntly, I think it’s gonna hold this defense back too much. In football, the trenches are where it’s more important, and if you’re not disturbing the QB enough, teams simply are not gonna be *afraid* to play you. Cam Jordan is good for his age, but he just came off a season where he was below 10% pressure rate, that’s below average for DEs. The guy who led your team (and the guy who all Saints fans collectively do not like) Davenport, struggled when it came to finishing plays, but was actually the one who could disturb the QB the most in that group. As a side note, that linebacking group, was pretty much half the sacks the d-line had, how does that even happen (that’s good for the LBs but not so good at all for the DLs). The guy who had like 8 or so sacks with Demario Davis, also left your team to go play for Atlanta (Kaden Elliss). To me, Elliss seemed like the better player compared to Pete Werner, but maybe I’m tripping. The corner room is like the only *scary* thing about this team, but now we gotta see how Alontae does in his second year, because Saints’ DBs don’t have the best track record in this department, sucks they also lost defensive coaches Kris Richard and Ryan Nielsen, so the development is gonna be kinda wonky. To wrap this up, I do think there is a scenario where the Saints do make the playoffs, but that’s kinda of a best-case scenario in terms of if Carr can play good, the coaching shows some semblance of consistency, the defense overcomes their weak-link in the trenches, and of course the overall health of the team. I do think there was times where the Saints could’ve faired better (last season) if their health was better, but there were also times where they were on the lucky side too I would say. Anyways, worst-case scenario is that Carr plays like he did last season, Dennis a jumbling mess again, we play the game of “Where’s Waldo(MT)?” for the 20th time, and this team could end up with a pick that leads to Drake Maye or Caleb Williams territory. Median-scenario I would say, is similar to last season, maybe with an added W. Although, I still have them missing the playoffs because I’m higher on both Atlanta and Carolina than you seem to be. I understand you’re a Saints channel, so you’re probably not caught up with what they’re about to do, but I ain’t about to go into what I think about that (unless someone asks perhaps lol), this already too long as it is.
@@DerekwhodatCarr111 And you base that claim on what? Playoff record?..Overall stats? Are you a Raider fan? Take a look at the stats. I've already grown tired of hearing about how Carr never had "Good" teams behind him. last years Saints? 7-10, Now tell me, using some stats why Carr is "Better"...lol
The problem with Carr is one game will throw for 250, 3tds, 0ints. Then the next game throw for 100 yards, 0tds, 3ints. Also if u pressure Carr he will get happy feet and make dumb mistakes. Ever since he broke his leg he hasn’t been the same
Ever heard of the offensive line? Some actual analysts seem to think it's worth talking about. In fact it may be possible that having most of your starting line injured for most of season could have maybe kinda sorta had something to do with the O's problems. Sorry but that pretty much invalidates the rest of your take in my opinion.
This gone be a breakout year for my bro Z-Baun Or in one of my hoods we called him “BaunDeer” The division is wide open It’s really between the saints and panthers this year 💯
I hope ypur right, He better or he is getting cut after this season. He might not eveb get a oppurtunity to show he improved and get cut anyway. Trust me alot of people in N.O. are ready to open up his roster spot and get someone else in there that can contribute.
Carr has had mostly offensive guru head coaches to work with and he’s never been considered a top 5, usually not even a top 10 qb. Now, he can’t rely on a proven offensive scheme. I think he will disappoint.
I love how Carr with the Raiders is washed up and not even a Top 20 QB in everyone's eyes. Then he goes somewhere else and he's a Top Ten if not higher that was "just in a bad situation." Have fun with him, he'll do just enough to make it close for the Saints at the end of the year, then he'll shit the bed. He also does good enough that the Saints will cling to him for too long.
I do not think this team will be any good at all. Maybe if MT stays healthy, but this team just seems mid to me. At the end of the day, it always looks like lots of teams will be good in the offseason, we just have to see how they play come September.
@@DerekwhodatCarr111 uh-huh ok man, cuz clearly everyone here is unbiased. What did I say that was wrong? I don't think anything I said was a crazy hot take. But one and done in the playoffs after Carr has a three turnover game. Carr will have 4,300 yards, 26 tds and 13int if I had to guess. Maybe 8 fumbles lost.

derek carr is a generationally bad quarterback inside the redzone as well, and unless pete carmichael is not a puppet, i don't see how he helps carr much
jameis is probably better than carr anyway, but both options clear timid andy dalton, so i suppose they'll be better off by default
@@dl9232 you didn't even finish reading the sentence, i don't have a response for you
@winnumber101 of course you don't. Generationally bad is a ridiculous statement. Everything that I said factors into that stat. Does Carr still score touchdowns? Of course. He has 217 so far, putting him 38th all-time. Every single quarterback ahead of him on that list has played more seasons.
Dude stop smoking that nasty stuff no way Jaime Winston better than DC#4😂 so stop it🤣 i can't stop laughing 😆 people these days🙋

Another amazing video
I'm a "Raider for Life" (age 72) HOWEVER: I'm SOOOOO Excited about the prospects of THE SAINTS
this year. Of course, I'm a BIG CARR fan but also ANY TALENT from BYU is STELLAR in my book.
Jamaal WILLIAMS and Taysom HILL are exceptional talents and even better as HUMAN BEINGS.
I have been pushing FOR YEARS for KYLE VAN NOY (also a superior BYU talent) to JOIN UP
with DEREK CARR not because they are long-time BESTIES~~ but because VAN NOY is an incredible
DISRUPTOR on the line. Responsible Civil Actions, to me, determine the CHARACTER of a TEAM as a
whole and the success it achieves. People like Kamara (imho) DO NOT belong in the NFL. You
really don't need that kind of stain on your team. Just sayin'...... GO SAINTS. There's no substitute
for WINNING. 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Looks like my Saints have a real chance this year to do sum great wit DC, AK, jimmy G, olave, thomas, and a backup RB with Williams? Our offence gonna be nasty
Is it FB SEASON YET...??!?!??!
51 MORE DAYS BUDDY!!
What does everyone think with Jon gruden coming back to coach the saints with his quarterback Carr
You can tell it's training camp, every team thinks they're winning the Super Bowl.
no payton. no drew brees? get over it saints are not the same they are 3rd in division at best. look at how much the panthers and falcons did this offseason then compare unbiasly to what tge saints did this offseason when we all had same record last season, then tell me saints still going to be on top. falcons took 3 of you ppl on defense including yalls defensive line coach who done alot for your defense is now our defensive coordinator
I respect it! Personally, I feel as if the Saints have all the pieces needed to go crazy. Now, they just need to execute
Hopefully Pete will put up his copy of offensive NFL coaching plays for dummies this season
Watching CARR for the last 9 years, I can assure you that he, alone, will make up for whatever frailties exist in
the Saints coaching ranks. CARR is one of the best in the NFL for his moxie in Audible calls at The Line.
I have no doubt that the Saints will take the Division this year. If the team would pick up Kyle Van Noy, that would
go a long way in cementing the Saints Defense as Number One in the League. (Derek and Kyle are "old time buddies")
Raider 4 Life.
USAF VET
Dominate ? 😂😂
Saints fans be delusional, they got a ways to go until they are on top again.
Sorry the Bears will dominate 2023
This is the same thing that was said last year and the year before that and the year before that. Every year analysts and arm chair qbs in New Orleans say the Saints are playoff bound and going to the SB before there's even been a snap. I don't doubt they will play better this year but as for the rest we're going to just have to wait and see.
HE WILL GO TO THE PLAYOFFS BUT WHO CARES ITS DIFFERENT IN THE AFC WERE WAY BETTER HE ISNT READY FOR THAT
I think our team is really good we just need our coaches to really need to do good job
Tyson Hill wide receiver number 3
They brought back Jimmy Graham.
With a 9 yr rookie QB😂😂😂😂😂
Saints may win their division, but will end up getting curb stomped by Philly, Dallas, or SF.
nah that wont happen. falcons and panthers are a better team. saints so used to being on top like when they had payton as coach and drew brees as qb.
And a real coach and not a poseur.
UnderutiliZAtion lol
Keep. On. Dreaming
Great video
Slow your roll
Unlikely???
Who dat !!!!
Because 1) Carr is soooo much better than Winston? Dalton? 2) Dennis Allen is twice the Coach Sean Payton is? 3) We'll suffer ZERO injuries? 9-8
Carr is 100% better than Winston and Dalton. End of story.
Ever since he broke his leg he hasn’t been the same
Fake narrative that isnt backed by any stat or film, he actually was better in 2019, 2020 and 2021

Dude, if you never mention the O-line, you're just pretending to analyze the offense. The O-line play could put the Saints at #30 or top 10.
Im ngl bro. I completely forgot that existed 😭, but I don’t think it should change too much. I feel the o-line gonna be somewhat decent
Ever heard of the offensive line? Some actual analysts seem to think it's worth talking about. In fact it may be possible that having most of your starting line injured for most of season could have maybe kinda sorta had something to do with the O's problems.
Sorry but that pretty much invalidates the rest of your take in my opinion.
regardless of the oline, we didnt have a very good qb and limited weapons. not a huge factor imo

I think you will be disappointed at the end of the year!
Cause you’re smoking dope
Carr has had mostly offensive guru head coaches to work with and he’s never been considered a top 5, usually not even a top 10 qb. Now, he can’t rely on a proven offensive scheme. I think he will disappoint.
I love how Carr with the Raiders is washed up and not even a Top 20 QB in everyone's eyes. Then he goes somewhere else and he's a Top Ten if not higher that was "just in a bad situation."
Have fun with him, he'll do just enough to make it close for the Saints at the end of the year, then he'll shit the bed. He also does good enough that the Saints will cling to him for too long.
Carr can't win a playoff game get over it your not going unless you buy tickets
got to make it to the playoffs first lol
I do not think this team will be any good at all. Maybe if MT stays healthy, but this team just seems mid to me. At the end of the day, it always looks like lots of teams will be good in the offseason, we just have to see how they play come September.
Tell us you don’t know football without telling us you don’t know football.
@@DerekwhodatCarr111 uh-huh ok man, cuz clearly everyone here is unbiased. What did I say that was wrong? I don't think anything I said was a crazy hot take. Saints hater here no their not 7-10 season incoming baby
It’s great to watch these as a raiders fan. Oh how many off-seasons I’d get hyped every year just for Derek Carr to underwhelm. The good thing is, saints have a defense. Bad thing is, Derek plays to the level of his competition. I think you guys make the playoffs still because the conference is weak. But one and done in the playoffs after Carr has a three turnover game. Carr will have 4,300 yards, 26 tds and 13int if I had to guess. Maybe 8 fumbles lost.
