- Metal Gear Solid Director Teases His Vision for the "First Great Video Game Movie"
Jordan Vogt-Roberts has been trying to get a Metal Gear Solid movie made for the past five years, during which the Kong: Skull Island director has gotten the direct blessing of the franchise's creator Hideo Kojima and commissioned a slew of concept art from numerous artists, some of which he's been teasing out on social media. Still, there's been no official word from Sony-who own the rights to Metal Gear Solid-that a film based on the long-running, critically acclaimed video game franchise has been greenlit.
But when Collider's own Steven Weintraub sat down for a one-on-one chat with the filmmaker-as well as a glimpse at some of that gorgeous concept art-we got the clearest idea yet of where in the development process a Metal Gear movie currently stands. (Check out the video above for the full, in-depth discussion.) A script, written by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), has been submitted to Sony. By the sound of it, the studio sent back notes and Vogt-Roberts and Connolly are in the middle of another round of revisions. And according to the director, that script is wild as hell.
Check out what Vogt-Roberts had to say in the video above. In addition to talking about the cool concept art he's released online, he also discussed all aspects of getting a Metal Gear movie made. Here's what was discussed:
How long, exactly, has Vogt-Roberts been working to get a Metal Gear Solid movie made?
How many-and which-characters from the games does he plan to include?
Does he believe there's been a worthwhile video-game movie yet?
Where do you begin when adapting the complicated history of Metal Gear Solid?
Which particular entries in the franchise was he interested in examining for a film adaptation?
How do you make a film that appeals to both the hardcore gamer fans of the franchise and casual audiences?
How much did knowing the movie would have to be made at a cost affect the screenwriting process?

“Metal Gear is such a strange fusion of things and my job is to protect that fusion” He’s got my vote
You could say he got your "Vogt".
I just hope this guy gets to make the movie he wants and the studio doesn't interfere
Well it's their money, they'll definitely interfere. I think the trick is are they all on the same page before the camera's roll.
Rohit Rajput you should add "too much" bc the studio will definitely... be involved
if kong made more money he would have full creative control. since kong underperformed he will have the studio on his ass.
public domain that was the studios fault. If they had picked a better month to release it, it would've made more. That March was loaded(Beauty and the Beast, Logan, Power Rangers, etc.)
Yello Duzzit well the studio is sony, so I guess they're definitely gonna be involved
I'll remain cautiously optimistic, but this guy really seems to love and understand the series. And that gives me a lot of hope!
I REALLY hope he sticks with the soundtrack of the game, ESPECIALLY if it is going to be based on Shadow Moses
nope.
bad idea.
it's a new medium. the soundtrack can't be the one from the game. at best, open the movie like MGS1 with "the best is yet to come" but the movie MUST diverge from the game sound track. this is exactly what video game movies do wrong. they do too much to remind you it's based on that game.
the MGS movie needs to be an entirely new experience, new sensations, newly evoked emotions.
i would not take his statement on the plot to mean "based on this game" and instead, it means "this is our frame work, let's make it amazing". i'm thinking he's opening with infiltration, exposition, and after a couple of minutes, immediate danger and then relief as it passes by only to reveal one soldier (snake) behind enemy lines, alone, forced to deal with OSP.
oh, and he mentioned Metal Gear.... NOT Metal Gear Solid. the original 2 games are the least known among the players. true fans like myself know he will be focusing on Big Boss-like instructions just to get Snake to kill him.
i hope he makes a brand new Metal Gear experience while maintaining everything that is expected of something using that title.
Kojima has toyed with concepts of links and connections before Death Stranding. he wanted to get away from metal gear and was ultimately forced by fans to make games. even with a bad reception of MGS2, he made 3, peace walker, 4 and 5(I & II). this movie is no different for Jordan. he wants to make a game which is fundamentally Metal Gear while introducing a new way of making movies. more than once i've played the games just to sit back and enjoy all the cutscenes, because, like a good movie, i get drawn into the game and i "feel" like i'm responsible for what happens.
seminal moments may need MG sound cues, but in the end, i expect it to become its own beast. also, knowing jordan is exploiting the internet to get reactions and see where the film is going before finalizing the script, i bet he's reading things like this, taking it on board and making the best experience possible... the fact is has the blessing of Kojima, means i'm just waiting for the movie and anticipate greatness. Kojima has literally helped a generation grow up and understand the toils of war and the pain of life. his choice to endorse this, only strengthens my hopes of a good movie.

Since I don't have the patience to read an essay in the youtube commenting section, I'm gonna kindly ask you to shorten that.
If it's going to be based on Shadow Moses or any of the actual AAA titles than it SHOULD DEFINITELY stick with the original score. However if it is based on Outer Heaven OR Zanzibar then I have no issue with them changing the music. The ORIGINAL(ps1) score for Shadow Moses was PERFECT.

*"so, you "kindly" ask, and then you respond, and you do both with a derogatory tone"*
Derogatory tone? Sorry if I offended you. It's nothing personal I'm just not autistic enough to waste my time reading OR writing essays in the youtube commenting section, and neither are the vast majority of normal people who use this site. Good luck getting people to read your post and have a nice life. Try leaving you room once in a while, it's nice outside.
You gonna talk about your jeans?
they could make music in the same style as MGS1 for sure. or orchestrated versions of framiliar background musics
Holy shit. I love hearing this guy talk. I really hope he can deliver an amazing Metal Gear Solid movie!
Let's just hope he can make a "solid" delivery in this project.
In Jordan Vogt-Roberts we trust!!!!! This guys passion, love and insight into the games gives me hope for the movie. Big shout out to Collider Video for giving him your platform to spread the word, such a meaty interview too.
If Jordan gets to make the movie HE wants, then I have nothing but faith in his vision. But it's Sony. With games, they are amazing partners and truly trust/support their developers and allow them the time they need. They're COMPLETELY different when it comes to movies, which is why I'm worried. Hopefully they don't interfere too much.
Alex Love
It's a coin toss, Sony is no different from WB and Fox when it comes to these things. Even Disney.
Plus if Konami without Kojima will have anything to say about it...it's gonna be hell trying to get this to be Kojima approvex
Sony is bad for musicians too. WB has been pretty good for movies.
Alex Love I agree 100%. Robert's said himself he thinks it should be R rated. But the way he was talking about the rating, you could tell the studio wasn't going to let him do that. It's too risky and they're going to be greedy and money driven for the fact they think a PG-13 rating will draw in more ppl and be "kid friendly". That's what scares me the most. The Metal Gear franchise deserves that serious R rating.
Oh god let's hope man.
Its incredible to hear the passion when he talks about MGS, as a life long fan I have the utmost faith in him. He's tight with Hideo Kojima, and probably knows the source material better than most and you can really see that with the way he spoke about the moment of Sniper Wolf's death
I love that he said he wouldn't want to mess with the essence of what Metal Gear is when it comes to the casual audience. If he gets the chance I have no doubt he'll do the fans and the franchise justice.
So best of luck trying to make this come into fruition. And Jordan if there's one thing I want you to do with this movie, its to... *Make me feel it! Make me feel Alive again!* :D
Did I hear him talk about the originals from the MSX? You got my attention, Jordan...
*My Personal Metal Gear Movie Dream Cast:*
- *Scott Adkins* as Solid Snake
- *Boyd Holbrook* as Liquid Snake
- *Steven Yeun* as Hal Emmerich aka Otacon
- *Deborah Ann Woll* as Meryl Silverburgh
- *Brett Cullen* as U.S. Colonel Roy Campbell
- *Joe Manganiello* as Gray Fox aka Cyborg Ninja
- *Adam Croasdell* as Revolver Ocelot
- *Jason Momoa* as Vulcan Raven
- *Morena Baccarin* as Sniper Wolf
- *Bill Skarsgård* as Psycho Mantis
I love listening to Jordan. He seems like a really cool guy.
Metal Gear is my favorite video game series, and I really hope he gets to make this movie.
Agreed. He seems the right man fir the job.
Great interview, keep this kind of stuff coming!
He is so passionate about metal gear. For sure I want to see this new frontier he's taking us.
I want him to get this right so badly i love Metal Gear
please do the game justice... please don't fail... please please please
E B impossible. Needs to be a series imo. A film won’t work.
Mozart Lalanne No!
Tom Romero an 8-10 hour season that focused on one story? Season One Virtuous Mission/Operation Snake Eater?? Season two Shadow Moses Incident??? Same actor for Naked and Solid?
I just don’t see how a film/film franchise will ever satisfy both the fans of the original series and new comers. At least w more time to explain/explore on tv it will have a chance.
Mozart Lalanne That wouldn’t make sense.
Mozart Lalanne For example: Episode 1 starts off with the Virtuous Mission. And then it ends with the nuke. Oh but wait, you have to wait however long it takes for the next episode to come out. That’s very dumb considering the fact that every person who played MG knows the story.

this gut has one of the craziest beards in all of beardness
Kind of reminds me of Obama
Edit: Osama
Edit 2: ??
Chiki Briki yeah, cause he’s the only other guy to ever have a long beard.
Yeah I never knew a gut could have a beard
Nebuchadnezzar II
He's not a gut. He's a guy.
Metal Gear Solid is already a movie
Violent Messiah it is but i hope he could make something that fans havent seen. Like the events of the original metalgear game on msx.
Completely agree. A movie isn’t needed. All we’ll get is the bare bones.
wow, if Sony lets this guy do his thing, i think it's in good hands.
Vogt-Roberts is absolutely right about how we as audiences NEED to be transported to new worlds and it is up to these filmmakers to work hard to take us there. THe MGS world is such a rich universe with amazing and complex characters. The games narrative is proof of it
All I wanted from the Metal Gear franchise going forward was a remaster of some sort of the MSX games. To see Venom Snake die at the hand of Solid Snake, and to see Naked Snake and Solid's interactions in MG2. Once we had something like that, I was willing to let the franchise rest. I would have been content.
Jordan Vogt Roberts, If your film covers these events, even briefly, I would be the happiest fan. A fan who is complete, and with nothing more to ask for.
Yason You
In many ways, Kojima in V leaves that to our interpretations, how those MSX events unfold is different for every player and in a way, so too is the entire series. This movie will be Jordan's interpretation and I cant wait for it cause he really seems to get it more than even most fans.
He said he will
He said he will
He said he wanted to go to the original metal gear too
I just heard about this movie and watched this interview... I cried.. I respect you for trying man I can feel the passion.
Seeing people walking around wearing big boss T-shirts would make my day
I certainly hope they touch on Major Zero more in the film. He is the main antagonist but they barely show him throughout the franchise.
Gal Gadot as Sniper Wolf 🐺
I hope it has an intermission that says, "Insert Film Reel 2"
I think adapting the original nes game would be the best way to go. It introduces Big Boss and Snake. Your free to make changes and have your own vision. You can add stuff like Big Boss having a metal arm, and doing MG 5 tricks. You can give the characters more depth. Whereas the other games after are very much movies in game form, so adapting them would be like taking a 6 hour mini series and remaking it into s 2 hour movie.
The Happy Chatter I think the nes version would be ideal to reach casual audiences and fans
The nes port wasnt made by kojima and isnt canon.
The real version is on MSX
Psycho Mantis appears
“put your food on the floor and I will movie it with my mind”
Then an earthquake starts in the theatre
the words he said about when you kill sniper wolf are so true
Another great interview. I sure hope he gets this move made, ‘cause I want to see it.
The guy talks and he is regurgitating MGS
the guy love this game.
I hope he give us the film that we need so bad
Frosty really needs to quit the whole "gonna be serious now", or "all jokes aside" and than continues the dry humor. Makes him seem so unprofessional
I am fully committed to this movie after this interview. Hes focusing on all the right nuance and his idea of leaning into the unique qualities of the MGS series is incredibly spot on. He described just what I subconsciously wanted from this movie. If any Sony execs read this, they need to trust this man.
He needs to make a short film of metal gear. Just a sequence showing what he can do
Destructus 86 Agreed. Something like what Nathan Fillion just did with Uncharted. It'll also be really good to make a short because if it gets widely recognized and loved, he'll get more creative freedom with it, ala Ryan Reynolds with Deadpool
He already made one! twitter.com/VogtRoberts/status/1021483556592398342?s=09
haha!
Imagine the Metal Gears in live action like REX, RAY, and Gekko. Hopefully we get to see REX vs Ray on the big screen.
Less is more for the first installment. Retain a sense of believability and save something for the sequel.
Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima nominated Hugh Jackman, Viggo Mortensen, and Luca Marinelli for the role of Solid Snake. And Jordan is friends with Hideo 👍🏼
I don't know why but I can actually see Batista playing Vulcan Raven!!
I’ve been gaming and watching movies all my life (33 years old) and I’ve never “got” MGS - I understand why others like it, buts it’s never clicked with me personally.
Listening to Jordan talk about MGS and feeling that genuine passion come through in his words makes me a believer in this movie - I think he can create something that appeals to everyone and that faithfully recreates the sci-fi craziness that is Metal Gear.
If this gets green lit I’ll be closely following it’s progress and you have 1 cinema ticket in the bank already.
Good luck Jordan!
Difference with MGS and other games is that it is very story based and centered around fear of nukes. If they center the movie around those ideas and how the U.S aren't the good guys we think we are. then it'll be really good. Also shoot the fighting action scenes like John Wick. Minimal cuts, let us actually see the action.
Kenny Richter MGS has so many messages BUT it always leads back to interpretation. Interpretation of characters motives and most of all, the interpretation of the Boss's will
CQC! I really hope they do a good job with some CQC. Get the guys from “the raid” to show them how to do the best fight sequences!
When you said a fighting scene with minimal cut, somehow I imagine a CQC fight between Solid Snake and Cyborg Ninja from MGS 1. That would be awesome!!
What fights do you cut for time, or cut completely? You have Ocelot, 2 Raven fights, Mantis, 2 Wolf fights, 2 Snake fights, and Fox. IMO, I think you cut the first fights with Raven and Wolf, and the last fight with Liquid can be done quickly. Or perhaps combine 2 battles together?
@@ryanpratama5635 solid snake doesnt use cqc dude. He stated in mgs4 why he never used it before that game
I love the point he makes that ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, ‘Kubo’ and ‘Snowpiercer’ are all excellent video game movies....I love his thinking, he seems like a pretty passionate guy....
Hearing Vogt-Roberts speak about this project is like listening to a geeky fan. This makes me very excited.
I don’t see how they can make this movie work but Jordan seems like a real fan and I’ll be there opening night for sure.
My thoughts exactly
"I think there is a way to lean into all the oddities and the quirks and the idiosyncrasies that make up Metal Gear..."
So you're confirming that there will be a scene with a guy shitting his pants.
love the games and Jordan certainly knows what he's talking about. He sold me on his understanding of the characters and the concept art is stunning. Get this movie made.
finally after 21 years....there is FINALLY hope..jordan..."your pretty good"
The way he describes the Sniper Wolf feels aftermath gives me hope that he will keep the game's core theme of "war isn't glamorous" at heart, but the idea of Gray Fox fighting a superior miniaturized and fully autonomous REX model called GEKKO when the Shadow Moses Incident was all about REX being the new and devastating tech makes me very afraid that the plot is going to be swiss cheese.
Metal gear changed my life, it marked my childhood. Im a die hard fan of this franchise, my favorite one. I trus this man, he seems to understand what the fans want. Hope Sony dont mess it up. Hope u the best.
I trust him and his beard
The first line needs to be “Kept you waiting huh?” Also I’d love a David Hayter cameo with the snake voice or he himself
Shieeet! I wasn't expecting this interview . I'm happy it exists, really excited for the MGS movie.
Clint Eastwood's son legit looks like Solid Snake, am I right?
I REALLLLLLY could not of said it better, I was blessed with this series and now I think he can carry it.
I like the word military surrealism, I get the feeling he wrote his dissertation on that
This game has so many intricate pieces it's gonna be so hard to satisfy all of us fans of this franchise
Big Boss and Snake should be the centralized characters, their story told through multiple movies explaining their relationship as father&son and how it evolves into a battle of ideals vs orders, loyalty vs the mission, and blood vs bond.
*The whole world needs this to happen!*
We need the following concept art: solid snake fighting grey fox bare handed on a minefield. Not relevant, just for the wallpaper ^^
0:31 "This thing"....THIS THING? BITCH this is a masterpiece!
He's going to do a big montage. I can hear it in his explanation.
i think he'll turn it into a franchise
this guy knows what he's talking about..LEGIT! he knows Metal Gear, it's beautiful the way that he talks about the franchise and i cannot wait to get another update about this movie
Great interview. He's certainly passionate about it. The concept art looks incredible. Unfortunately, just because he understands the game doesn't necessarily mean he's going to deliver an A+ movie.
I'll be rooting for him.
Brian Mills I've heard it said a lot of the times those who are the most passionate are the ones that fuck it up.
Revisiting this after the recent casting of Oscar Issac. I’m a massive metal gear fan and this video gets me so hyped
MAKE THIS MOVIE, SONY.
AND LET JVR MAKE IT.
AND DON'T SKIMP ON THE BUDGET.
You won't do any of these things because your film division sucks but please do and be good for once.
I'm glad they got a director who trying to protect Metal Gear Solid and who's going to stay true to what it means to all of the fans.
13:20 its kinda like a mystery modern military horror version of the matrix
Such passion. He Understands that this is a big movie and knows he has a lot to prove even going as far to say that this will be “the first great video game movie” and I support it all the way
Jordan V-Robs is trying to make the movie that gave you that feeling when you saw the first Matrix! Which ever studio gives this man a budget and get's the ef out of his way is on their way to a $Billion$
We needed this guy for the Resident Evil films.
The love and respect this guy has for the games gives me hope. I will buy a ticket just to support it and hope I’m not wrong
I think if the movie format is cut into flashbacks to big boss timeline and focuses on solid snake discovering more and more on his journey while still showing flashbacks to his former missions, the audience can know the substance which is involved. Basically bits of mgs 4 with mostly mgs 3/mg/mgs 1 era flashbacks can work well in my opinion. Very little screen time on old snake and the war economy future, dispersed in little bits.. and heavy lore flashbacks. It's the only way to cram all the information into one film. Unless he goes the approach to primarily feature metal gear solid only, which can work. I'm guessing based on the concept art, he wants to do mgs 1 with metal gear/mgs v remixes. I think the studio will let him have creative freedom as long as he shows em cool pictures and summarizes what's going on. They will be like "oh cool those mechs look awesome and that tech he's using is badass. Approved."
I had given up on the idea of a metal gear movie years ago, but this guy seems to know what he's doing. He has my attention.
The first time I played the first jampack demo disc for PlayStation 1 metal gear was on there. I thought to myself, I'm not gonna play that one because it's a military game and reminded me of medal of Honor games which I thought we're boring and uninteresting. I played it for the hell of it and immediately liked the intro movie of the sub and sending snake in with a torpedo. That was totally amazing to me. It blew my mind and was where I first thought of metal gear as a cool movie. Then you play the first "level" of the game sneaking through the base at shadow Moses Alaska until the fight with Raven in the tank. The whole demo and gameplay was beyond anything I could imagine and from that point I had to get the game and play that Raven fight. It was hard as shit and I think took me 6 mornings before school playing it to figure out what to do (spolier alert: throw grenades on the tank) the gun doesn't work.. it doesn't do anything at all.. this is one of the first things that makes this less of a video game and more realistic. It was really fun just playing that demo and learning what you could and couldn't do in that world. Watching the guards sneeze because they got a cold, taking cold medicine. Then learning that you're not supposed to kill everyone but try to sneak through the game undetected. The whole rest of the game was mind blowing, reality shifting, all the conspiracy stuff and military information. Then the cherry on top, riding the snowmobile off into the sunset in the middle of alaska and that song at the end.. still one of the most beautiful songs ever and in the context just really caps off an amazing experience. And then you get the stealth camoflauge and can replay the whole game invisible.. then you get to play it in a tuxedo for some reason.. To this day it's my favorite game ever. And all from thinking I would never play it or be interested in it. Way back on that first PlayStation 1 jampack. That demo disc is one of the greatest things that ever happened in gaming history. So many good games.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve ever watched.
you literally have the MGS director in your studio pouring hes heart out and your rushing to wrap things up? you havnt got time in the studio?? your gonna regret that once this films out and he dont have time for you...
It's not he's fault, this is how things work
It's 35 minutes long, man. That's a good length.
This guy is the perfect man to make the best metal gear movie, besides Hideo himself. This guy is a huge fan of the metal gear franchise first and foremost. He played all of the games from beginning to end, knows the lore, he respects the franchise and the fans, and he's a huge Kojima fan.
But like I said, there isn't a better person on earth to make a metal gear movie than Jordan, other than Hideo Kojima himself.
I can tell this guy actually knows what he is talking about and has played all the games.. True passion for the MGS series
My dream cast for Main Characters:
Solid Snake - Tom Hardy
Liquid Snake - Dan Stevens
Meryl - Vanessa Kirby
Otacon - Paul Rudd
Revolver Ocelot - Chris Cooper
Campbell - Bryan Cranston
Big Boss - Kurt Russell
I think Keanu would be a better snake
I feel passion in him and I think it's in good hands.
ngl I was originally really skeptical about this movie but after hearing this interview I'm beginning to think this series that i love so much is in the right hands
So glad you're making this movie
Frosty is so rude and blunt. Almost made me turn the video off. He could at least try and act interested
Yeah, Jordan was so eloquent and passionate describing the art pieces and that guy was like "yeah, wathever. Next!"
What the fuck are you talking about? Also, you do realize these are edited, right?
exactly and the way he was rushing him so much. what a prick
Danny Meegan "sure, sure, sure, you sound like you know what you're talking about, let's move on" like what? He's such a shitty interviewer. He clearly gives no fucks, and if he DOES care he's doing a terrible job of showing it. Ruined the whole interview.
Tom Williams what the fuck are YOU talking about? What video did you watch? The guy clearly doesn't give a shit or is just a terrible interviewer " sure"
Really good interview honestly, Really excited to see him do the film, It's clear he's aware of why MGS is so great and not just doing it because it's a popular title, I understand it might not be the greatest film ever but if he can deliver on a basic premise with some amazing action then were set. He definitely has my full support until the film comes out. Although Kong Skull Island didn't do that great, I hope we can get some practical effects here I probably wouldn't like seeing a CGI Rex.
There's only one actor I know who could pull off playing Solid Snake and that's actor Alex O'Loughlin, he did a wonderful job playing Steve McGarrett on Hawaii Five-0. He's the guy Vogt-Roberts needs to cast for this part asap, he has the Solid Snake demeanor and grunty voice and everything.
Vogt was so passionate about everything he was describing and the other guy obviously could give zero shits.. I am a huge fanatic of metal gear and love how much he loves rex and all of it as much as I do.
Thanks, Collider for this!! Hoping all the best for Vogt-Roberts who seems to be such a passionate fan of the game. What film he is allowed to make.. (:cough Tom Rothman :cough) Keep it up!!
Kojima-san himself gave Jordan his blessing as the creator after he talked to him and read the script. They have since become good friends. As a HUGE Metal Gear fan(Kojima ran MG/MGS Only. Konami can eat it.) I am both apprehensive and Optimistic about this. I seriously hope it turns out well. I'm looking forward to it.
It's going to be a long movie if he does it right. I also think that most of the cast should be relatively unknown. Mainly because I can't think of a single person that could pull off the role of Solid Snake. Let alone Solid AND Liquid Snake. We definitely need a good Shalashaska(Revolver Ocelot) too. I can think of a few actors that could pull off the Older Ocelot, but not the younger version. Nor can I think of an actor that could both play him AND pull off his gun twirling.
He definitely knows what he's talking about..can't wait for casting too
This is the guy to make metal gear
I am legitimately impressed with this interview. This man clearly understands the Metal Gear series and believes it so much that makes me believe in it as well (like even Kojima himself does too). Regardless of what is to become of this movie (also because there is still the studio factor to be accounted for) I want to go support this just because I believe he is putting his best effort into this project.
This could work,I think most movies based on video games were made by directors that weren't necessarily long time players/fans of the game.
are we getting a codec sequence in the game thooo
buibuich probably in a stylized way I'm sure he'd try to include it to where it would work with casual audiences, gotta impress them with the fans or if it's all just fan treatment it's gonna bomb af
Of course The codec is in the games
can't forget about the cardboard box!
Real question is, are we getting the exclamation chime alert when he gets spotted ..❗️
CQC!
I'm a huge MGS fan and I so want this to happen and I love the fact that someone who is a fan and knows the history and games is at the helm.
Just my quick thoughts on some of the casting and of course, this is a fluid situation:
Big Boss (old) : Kurt Russell
Big Boss ( young) : Henry Cavill
Solid Snake : Chris Evans
Liquid : Charlie Hunnam
Young Ocelot: Zac Efron
Ocelot ( old) : Viggo Mortensen
The Boss: Robin Wright
Raiden: Dylan Sprouse
Otacon: James McAvoy
Eva: Scarlett Johansen
Big Mama/Eva: Kim Basinger
Meryl: Jessica Chastain
I like Jordan I liked Kong I thought it was a fun movie but Metal Gear is just on a whole nother level and I just don't think he's that good of a filmmaker yet to try to do a game like metal gear Justice I hope it works👌
You have a chance for a man of his talent to present so much of what he thinks and creates and you pressure him with time. Classic.
insightful, but I'm not sure if it works if a thoroughly American director puts his vision on a Japanese game designer's vision of 80's American cultural tropes.
It may not be as popular with the masses, but I really enjoyed Kong Skull Island. It made a timeless story feel fun again. Plus the way Kong killed the last monster is just 🤯🤯🤯
I pity this guy because no matter how good this MGS movie turns out theres going to be a lot of MGS fans who hate it with a burning passion and right fully so it'll have to be so compressed, a lot of important shits gonna have to be cut out unless you can make like a 4hr long movie then maybe it would be great. Also Collider sucks!
Anybody else hear "enclosure" pop into your head as soon as the sniper wolf pic showed up?
I´m relieved that this guy is the director, he really know and love the games.. METAL GEAR MOVIE should be a trilogy.. the story is so big and complex that you can´t limit itself for only one movie.
The greatness of this saga deserves it
I believe in you Jordan!
Frosty start booking the studio longer. It feels like you are rushing all your guests. Great interview though.
I couldn't hit play fast enough! Can't wait for this game to be finally a film
