Hey jt did you use the factory exhaust rubber isolators or are those metal brackets bolted straight onto the engine mount? Thanks!

I did away with that setup long ago and have a stainless Vibrant resonator with 2” inlet/outlet, hung from the bumper with rubber H mounts. It ended up being more reliable than the factory setup. I need to make a new vid and delete this one.

So almost 3 years later, how do you like your AAZ? I'm contemplating converting a 1.9L wbx.

Its an AHU. Its been phenomenal. Almost 60,000 miles and not even the slightest hiccup out of it, ever. Has run perfectly 100% of the time, in the most grueling conditions, from 10F to 120F. Funny you asked this on the exhaust vid, because the exhaust is the only thing thats given me any sort of trouble, the pipe cracked close to the turbo, on one of the bends the fabbers made, so i fixed that and put a much lighter resonator on there instead of the heavy Magnaflow. That was 15k miles ago maybe, nothing since. Actually i need to make an updated exhaust vid to reflect that

@@jtlachappelle great, thanks for the update! Awesome that it has been so reliable. What kind of fuel economy do you get? I take it the louder engine noise isn't too big an issue? I'm thinking I will buy marine diesel engine insulation and go nuts.

@@jtlachappelle btw, I have a magnaflow stainless on my 1.9L wbx, and it came in perfect polished condition. I think you got a bunk one.

Who knows on the polishing. All i know is the picture i clicked on to order it was polished and bright, and what i received was definitely not. And then they were total dicks about it when I called, so Magnaflow can go eat shit , wont buy or recommend them ever again. Assfaces.
Dont worry about the noise. If you watched my other vids youll know that i have an open K&N air filter on it, makes a great racy sound, and contributes to getting 35 mpg

@@jtlachappelle "the pipe cracked close to the turbo," and thats where they all crack, even on standard TD engines. VW never cured it, you will never cure it.

Not "burn marks", oxidation colors. OK, what do you expect for that price? Price SS tubing in a mill finish then check the price polished. That should bring you into the real world. By the by, I've never seen an OE Vanagon mounting scheme which mounts the muffler from the inlet/outlet - the mufflers are hung from the bodies of the mufflers. Since you are the God of Exhaust Design, maybe you should be working in the VW Engr. Dept.

If a manufacturer puts a picture of a highly polished product in the description of the product, I expect what comes in the mail to be highly polished. Shut the fuck up and get the fuck out of here

Reading your shit again because i cant believe anyone can be this stupid.....so your argument is that because the price of polished stainless is so high, its ok for them to mislead and cheat the fuck out of people by showing a pic of a polished product and then sending an unfinished product? WTF...nice logic, what kind of fucking idiot are you? Dude get out of here.
And burn marks: slag marks from the welds you dipshit. Stupid, stupid people i have to deal with...
