As a Mexican woman I don’t understand this, the point of a career is to go on a journey like a Videogame. You lvl up and eventually earn a place in the lvl 100 table. Hearing there are no women in valve would make me want to be that one woman but based on merit not a handout. Based on a hard journey lvl up through my career only to finally end up at valve having earned my place. To actually make a difference in any industry takes work and effort. Lots of blood sweat and tears pouring into your work. If they want to be that diverse person making a difference you have to be good at your job. People cemented in history as important people to their industry showed exceptional work if not beyond. Many people of all races talk proudly of them. Most of the world allow people to sit and actually have functioning workers unions ( unlike america ).

If that’s their strategy it seems to be working that when you hire people according to their skill set, then it’s successful. And then you look at the companies such as Disney that hires by “public sentiment” & the DEI mobs of the world which ruins companies such as Marvel.

Steam being run by less than a hundred people is actually really nice to hear. So many tech companies have a bloated staff full of unnecessary people, thousands of employees whose jobs don't actually contribute anything of substance. Considering how many people are out there using Steam and how many games are on it, under a hundred people sounds like a very modest number.
