Is this purely a software update or does it need new hardware as well? Will this work with my existing 16MP-AF (and 64MP-AF when it's ready)?
I have the same question. I bought a bunch of 'em in the kickstarter.
It works with all existing 16MP-AF cameras, support for 64MP-AF will be available in the coming weeks.

@@ArducamOfficial Nice news. Looking forward to the update, as autofocus is nice on the cameras, but currently quite slow making it's use challenging with moving objects
