    Does it make a difference if I'm left handed (hold stick in left?)

    Do left handed people find it easy to learn the FMA techniques ?
    Thanks

      Most FMA train both left and right. Training your no dominant hand makes your dominant hand even better.

    Balintawak looks deadly why? Because of the stick use, you can also use your hands, this prob can be utilized in MMA, no sticks but instead fists I saw the insane hand reflexes.

    Basic strikes of Balintawak Escrima differ from Modern Arnis. There are interchanged order of strikes although all strikes and the same.

      Theyre the same. The only difference are the footworks.

    What do you mean by "chamber"?

    • @Ragman-s1s
      @Ragman-s1s 11 дней назад

      Chamber back the opposing arm/hand brother (so it is ready and can deflect/check/block or strike with power if need be) 🙏

    Ano po ba ang kaibahan ng kali,eskrima,balintawak, and arnis? Wala kasing nearby place na pwd ako maglearn ng art na to sa lugar namin. Kaya nanonood nlng ako ng videos about it.

      Thank you for watching the video. Balintawak is limited when it comes to videos. Most of them don’t want their material filmed and put on display. And each linage has a different approach to teaching and methodology. What part of the Philippines are you at?

      @@CodaCombatives i am from Columbio sultan kudarat. I was a taekwondo practitioner during may high school and college days. I even represent caraga region during my college. I stopped playing since 2012. Now, when i saw videos about this martial art. I want to learn it first so that my coming child will see me doing it and can encourage my child to do the same. I want my child to have this filipino spirit.

  • @DefenceLabDeutschland
    @DefenceLabDeutschland 3 года назад

    Are you a beginner? 1 and 2 target the head. Protect the center line. Drop on 8 and 9. Rotation.

    • @CodaCombatives
      @CodaCombatives  3 года назад +3

      No I’m not a beginner, though this was filmed earlier in my Balintawak journey. I was going over what was taught to me by Manong Sam Buot. I am now under GM Bobby Tabimina, he stresses the core fundamentals of random, on target, real time and under stress.

    What's the differences between balitawak and das system?

      Balintawak was found by GGM Anciong Bacon after he left the Doces Pares which he simplified and direct without the twirling and fluff. There are different linages of Balintawak which some emphasis the Grouping system and the other focuses direct teaching of Anciong which was installed to the student 1 on 1. My linage now is Tabimina Balintawak System founded GM Bob Tabimina a direct student of the late Anciong Bacon. ruclips.net/video/a_GHmyGZe4M/видео.html

      Thank you for your reply. So, to simplfy it, das is more to double sticks and single stick drills, on the other hand, balintawak is more to close rang single stick drill, am I right?

    Is balintawak the most deadly style of escrima?

    • @CodaCombatives
      @CodaCombatives  4 года назад

      I like to believe predominantly all Eskrima is deadly when you take all the fluff out of it. Balintawak is simple and direct to the point. Some linages teach it differently the popular ones tend to use the grouping system which you learn certain attributes as you progress through the system. The other is direct installation by your instructor and can’t be taught by the masses or on video. Let me know if you have any questions or want me to link you with one of our chapter heads.

      @@CodaCombatives well actually im debating to myself on whether or not I should learn kali or this. What is your opinion?

    • @CodaCombatives
      @CodaCombatives  4 года назад

      I have experience in both. The style of Balintawak is effective. Don’t fall in the rabbit hole if you really want a combative Art I would check out Balintawak. If you want to memorize patterns and look good go with Kali. This video might help you. ruclips.net/video/a_GHmyGZe4M/видео.html
