I still like my old sbc engines as well. It all depends on what you want to do. Building a nice roller sbc you looking at probably close to $4-5k on a conservative side vs grab a $3-800 5.3 slap her in throw a cam in and have a nice cruiser with a little power
Not really. I grew up on small blocks and I love them but they can NOT take the power an LS can pound for pound right out the scrap yard. Try to make 1000hp on an old stock small block and your gonna scatter the bottom end everywhere. An LS will do it easily. And I’m a certified mechanic. Like I said, love small blocks but the LS is Stronger
