so happy to see someone else picking up sanderson's work!! although its *technically* part of his secret projects, it's one of the only books not part of his greater cosmere works and is a standalone universe! it's not one I would personally recommend people pick up as an introduction to his work, but I hope you enjoy it! if it isn't to your taste, I always tell people to read the original mistborn trilogy!! it has a much more authentic look into his writing style and is one of my favorite series of all time!

The Stranger is indeed good. Camus never missed to be fair. Love his stuff ❤ EDIT: Oh yes, Orwells 1984 was good too. You should read Brave New World by Huxley. Even Handmaids Tale by Atwood. All relevant to our times

Girl! It’s Jan 29th when I’m rewatching this and my tree is still up. All the other Christmas decor is down, but I’ve been delaying the tree. It give such nice ambient light that I didn’t want to take it down. But I will today… the storage boxes are waiting by the tree. I read someone in the comments mention Nettle and Bone, and I also absolutely loved that book and would recommend to anyone wanting to read more of her works. as a fan of Brandon Sanderson, I did not particularly like Frugal Wizard's Handbook.. but I am looking forward to your journey with his books! Most fans would say you can start with Mistborn: The Final Empire if you reeeeally want to start immersing in the Cosmere, but honestly for new readers of his, I always highly recommend Tress of the Emerald Sea, followed by Yumi and the Nightmare Painter 🥰
I would spend forever in that library. Mine Library is so tiny and the whole fantasy section is one shelf lol and they don't carry a lot of romance either, but it is also attached to the middle school here

If you like retellings Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles is great. Cinder is a retelling of Cinderella set in the distant future after WWIII and colonized moon. Scarlet is a Little Red Riding Hood retelling. Cress is a Rapunzle retelilng, and Winter is a retelling of Snow White but she has a twist that all four characters/stories are happening at the same time, and they are all connected to one another. It's a great series.
