I believe the Topic is worded extremely poorly... I don't think anyone's arguing whether it's right to objectify women or not... They shouldn't. Point is whether men actually do? That's the question to be debated upon.
Team A said 'you're saying we'll rape a women" this is the prime example of strawman fallacy. It means to refute or misrepresent the given argument. They didn't even mention rape neither were they able to explain themselves properly. The 2nd girl in team A talks like a politician and I am a 100% sure that she's a hypocrite. Secondly a girl wearing a revealing dress will get the same kind of reaction like when a guy will wear any kind of of cloth in front of naked tribal people. We live in a civilized society and we wear clothes so obviously people are gonna look if you wear booty shorts. Males will get attracted to a women. This doesn't mean everyone is gonna harass you, even if someone does I guarantee you that the other people witnessing that will come to your rescue. Now 'I am sorry you can see my arms, when men's body part are shown they are seen as mere human beings' and 'we have the right to dress the way we want, you want us to say nothing when we're being denied of our basic human rights' this is called using your victim card when no one even mentioned human rights.
Shockingly, adults would allow a discussion among students about whether objectifying women is acceptable. It's deeply disappointing to see teachers influencing young minds in such a negative way. However, I was impressed with how Team A held their ground and presented intelligent, thoughtful arguments. Feminism is about treating everyone with equal respect and dignity, regardless of gender. Restricting how women dress or when they go out is a violation of their fundamental right to express themselves and experience life freely. This approach unfairly shifts the blame onto women instead of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions. Consider this: if a man were attacked while wearing shorts at 2 AM, no one would question why he was out at that time or what he was wearing. The same standard should apply to women. If society insists on playing moral police, then perhaps we should ban clubs, impose curfews, restrict body exposure, and prohibit activities like drinking and pornography-for everyone, not just women.
If women have the right to dress however she wants then she shouldn't tell or try to teach men how they should think. Now a days, women are roaming half naked in the name of freedom and feminism, tells "it's my choice". Then they should also accept the choice of Men how they should think.
Is women objectifying bad? Yes Do women objectify themselves? Yes(Instagram, Only Fans,PB even Beauty pageant who thinks they are paid just because they are women? No lol they put a thirst trap here) Do men objectify women? Yes(Yeah there are are men who objectify women some objectify subconsciously but the real problems is if he's taking out his desire on a woman who doesn't consent)
@@malovikaroy9738 obviously did I deny? But why only Instagram stuff I also brought only fans here if you don't know what Only fan us then lemme tell it's a site where girls most like sells their nude images for money? But how often do you see guys doing that? Even porn main faces are women. Why only talk about Instagram stuff. How often will you see a guy has a only fans where he sells his nudes?
Team A is full of contradiction...she says"It's a woman's choice if she wears a bikini to a stage" The next statement she makes "men objectifies women to make profit by displaying her body on stage" So by that two statements, she meant a woman wearing a bikini to a stage is objectifying herself by choice...So it is self objectification so why blame men for that?
Objectification is when you look at a human being like an object to be used for some purpose and your don't consider how your actions would affect that person both physically and emotionally. The debate is much more nuanced than how these school students did it. I don't think a person can objectify herself. Can you think of yourself just an object and not consider your feelings?
@@expeditioner9322 I don't get it lol. If objectifying is treating others as objects, i don't think any sane men would objectify a woman except for some psychos and rapists. Btw, every individual have their opinion and way of thinking. If i see a girl dressing inappropriately ( lets say a bikini to the college ) , as any rational person , i would immediately react by thinking of her as some crazy weirdo who doesn't know how to dress rightly and i would try my best not to look at her. Idk what is objectifying here? Ofcourse , there are people who naturally think that she must be showing her body in public on purpose and she is shameless. But it is their genuine reactions, you cannot control them. You can only control how you dress up to place. I still don't get how do people treat women who dress inappropriately (in their pov) as objects .
Introvert doesn't have anything to do with it you can be very comfortable on stage and confident it must be that you are shy but hey you can work on it 👌
I don’t agree with team B They r making points which make no sense Team A r fighting for there rights But team B is indirectly against them fighting for there rights
Team a was bold and they were eloquent and they knew what they were talking about. Team A won surely for me and the confidence both of the girls had was fantastic. This is how our women should be.
I’m sorry India. Now y’all are getting angry feminists as well. Good luck Edit to add: I’m sure if those boys tried to leave the house with their butt hanging out of short shorts and wearing ser through shirts theirs dads would have something to say about it.
I don't know how much you know about Indian history. But there was a time when when women in southern India would walk topless and it was totally acceptable. The thing is societal norms keep changing with time. One then wonders why women in those times could walk topless and not get objectified and raped and now they can't.
with an intention to prepare our students on the same topic i observed this video,,Dear sons and daughters the purpose of clothes is to cover the body ,and to get protection from All types of weather conditions. The way of dressing should be Neither distract others from their work and Nor disturbed us from our work,Except No Restrictions.it applicable for All.
Suppose a man wants to wear revealing clothes, then also his parents will talk to him about not wearing that, because it will degrade his image and so the parents'image. Yes ,everyone has freedom on what to wear but to dress neatly becomes very important ,that is why stopping someone when his her dressing Style is bad or revealing, is right
All the points aside can't we just appreciate the fact that how well these guys and girls are saying their things they have such good conversation skills And a person who lacs it i appreciate it and i must learn from them
How Team B debated is exactly how you should not debate. Their debate was mostly on emotional appeal. The purpose of a school debate is to teach logical argumentation. For example, Team B's argument that you are only emotionally affected when you have guilt. What is the logic behind that? Are we emotionally affected only when we have guilt? Then they claimed it is right to objectify women in some situations. What are these situations? And why is it right?
We agree with you. Unfortunately, not all debates adhere to strict debating norms. A debate like this one gets us more eyeballs and could make the whole exercise of debate popular, but may not serve the expectation of a good debate. Nevertheless, this could also inspire more people take up debating and when that happens we may be able to bring in more formality and desirable techniques into it.
Actually your position in debate means a lot. It can change results i mean you are in support or in against means something. Tomorrow’s my debate is on women empowerment, and I’ll be saying against the topic😂, and mentally I support their empowerment. Currently I’m like why the F I’m doing this😂
Hey guys I need some help here! So it's about a relationship with my one and only ex. so she publically abused me for asking ( some might say forcing )her not to wear one piece at a hindu Mehandi ceremony of my sister i wanted her to wear somewhat traditional or casual rather than going one piece. So I asked her not to come if she's gonna be wearing a one piece but she did and when I asked her to leave as clearly she was not fitting and my aunt also told me to ask her to leave she humiliated me at the very function and went on to tell all my friends, colleagues, neighbours and since then I am suffering and it has affected my social life a lot. Do you people think I was wrong? I keep asking it to myself several times a day and it haunts me....
Relationship goes both ways.. if she's not listening to you or doesn't cares about your dignity or decent demands.. walk out of relationship. That's toxic feminine
It really depends on what the clothing is and whether it's appropriate for that social settings. For example, say she picked a ghagra, and if it's pretty common for a person to wear ghagras where you're from then it's probably okay if she picked it. If the problem you have is if by wearing a ghagra she attracting a lot of attention from other guys etc, then I'd say you're being possessive.

And also She humiliated him Infront of people and be clearly gave her a choice but she wanted Drama lol. How is it possessive if she's given a choice. And also he probably knows she doesn't need to come to a wedding to get attention from other men(By the way why is it wrong for a man to not want her girl getting attention from other men at all? But when girls literally wants access to everything a mans privacy that's seen as nothing). He stated there are aunties probably he wants to save her from their judgment not because he's controling so your argument is useless
Firstly the statement for the debate must be: "Should women dress modestly or not" And I think that there are some points against team A that I will state: 1.If you won't go nude in public, why won't you? cuz you want to obey societal construct of appropriateness right? So when you want to comply with those standards of modesty set up by society why would you violate them in the first place? 2.Men and women are biologically different. Women too watch porn: they comprise 40% of porn viewers but 95% of porn addicts are men. Why? because men are visually stimulated towards sex due to evolution. Women aren't as much. 3.Yes women are raped in whatever they wear. And of course sexual assault is always the perpetrator's fault even if the victim was nude no one has the right to violate her boundaries. But here we are talking about what's preferable to wear so that the least people get uncomfortable with you or sexualise you. Nonetheless men need to change cuz it will be better to the society in a long run. On the ground what works best is that men monitor themselves not women censor themselves.
1. first of all BOTH MEN AND WOMEN don't go nude in society ... So ur point should be equal for both of them ... BOTH of us don't go nude outside bcz we want to get DRESSED as we want... not to show OUR BODY .... when a PATIENT visits a DOCTOR the doctor OBSERVES his / her body ... but doesn't sexually objectifies him/her bcz its our need ... when u wax ur body u show ur body parts to the experties ... they don't objectifies u bcz its ur choice to be waxed .... when someone is raped and threw in public with out a single piece of cloth people are more curious about the case how mant people raped her or from where she is etc but she is not objectified physically at that moment bcz of the atmosphere created over there.... so society should also accept and they should also give respect the choice of others in the society ... when in a SOCIETY u don't have this much understanding and freedom this SHOULDN'T BE CALLED A SOCIETY ... 2. men are visually stimulated -- so thats their weakness so this doesn't mean women should cover themselves not to stimulate MEN ... its men's problem they should control it... 3.u see u have told PEOPLE GET UNCOMFORTABLE WITH YOU ... means the problem lies in the PEOPLE... not in the wearings ... when a mother breastfeeds her baby others humiliate her ... even her breasts catches many eyes right ?? isn't it the need of the baby ??? even if someone gets uncomfortable he/she should adjust a little bit .... we are living SOCIETY yaa?? then society should help us by doing this little... if someone is uncomfortable about that they should think about the atmosphere and upgrade their mentality ... **** THANK YOU @trom boner this is not about arguing with u .. I was just trying to cross-back ur points... ☺☺

team a is right, idk how is a debate. im not a feminist at all i think all women should strive for modest. but it is mans fault completely if he rapes or assaults a woman.
Most customers of beauty products are women. Women spend 3 times more time selecting a dress, or any kind of body decoration than men. Women decorate their body much more than men. There was some survery conducted in Uk which showed that even though children were not exposed to any kind of toy advertisements, The toys that they chose to play with perfeclty correlated with their gender. Girls chose toys meant for girls and same goes for boys too. Most toys for girls are nothing but beauty objects. So yes from these above facts I mentioned , I believe that men don't objectify women, women objectify themsleves.
It's not objectification. Objectifying women means seeing women as toys that is only to be valued on their looks. Not their soul. We should not objectify women. Women are humans too.

Short Skirts at the parties at 2 am in the winters is her own choice? I mean why, weather is chilled outside this completely shows they're not comfortable but still they wear short dress, for what? Confidence or to show your body openly!! Disgusting
The moral blame still lies on the person who decides to rape, harass or misbehave with someone because they're wearing revealing clothes. Sure it might be the case that in certain instances, women might be wearing certain types of clothes to attract a potential partner sexually. But that's upto her. It doesn't make sense for a person to be mad about someone wearing short clothes.
@@MostLucid Rapists are Rapists by their mindsets, they don't rely on what the lady is wearing either shortskirts or winter jackets. It is totally different matter to discuss. But don't you think it is complete idiotic behaviour to use their body as exhibit for others ? Here i m asking this over morals !!
@@ashutoshdwivedi5148 A lot of people dress up on certain occasions specifically to attract the attention of people of the opposite sex. I don't think there's anything immoral about that. Why do you think a lot of guys go to the gym? For some people its health related reasons but for a lot of people its to look attractive
@@Egg-wt1pk Objectification is when you reduce women to nothing but objects of sexual desire while ignoring their character, personality and worth. When you dress up in a sexually appealing way you're expressing one of the different aspects of your character which is sexuality. If a guy goes to the gym and expresses his sexuality by posting a picture of his abs on social media, you would not say that he's objectifying himself. He'd become an object if he's perceived by people as nothing but a piece of meat with no other function.
honestly, the definition of the word, objectification is never really positive to begin with and also throughout history, women and objectification has never been a positive connotation when it came to women and their mental health. our society on a global scale is still far more degrading towards women choosing jobs or career choices where they objectify themselves or choosing to express themselves far more then men.
@@deekshachitturi2854 Great assumption there, so I guess judging people by their choice of words is something ok for you to do, while I am not allowed to do the same
Lol, what jobs are men even doing that they objectify themselves in, if men were actually doing those type of jobs then they would be looked down as well.
If we as a society were really concerned about safety, we would have enforced stricter laws against the wrong-doers rather than "sometimes" objectifying people "when it's necessity." This topic is not even worth a debate.
Understand the fact that how much ever the strict laws we enforce, criminals are still gonna do the crime, they have a completely different mentality than us. So its better to take precautions for such things. Not everything has to be taken on Ego.
Team A is just quackery garnished with beautiful, "brave", "powerful" words. Their arguments had little to no logic. Just full of emotional drama. I dont know why the hell these so called debate competitions are full of drama nonsense. I mean if you are good at drama, just go and do drama and dont come to debate. Absolute bullshit. if the girl can wear bikini in public it's their desire then we the men can start wearing underwear in public without wearing anything even the woman shorts are like our underwear size even the rape cases also increased day by day, why because of you shortening of dresses day by day
This is a great issue but let me explain it simply. Example an actress wearing less clothes for Item song and then saying that men just objectifying us and want to see that then it is wrong because ultimately it was she herself who choose to follow the way based on the men's criteria. So objectification is mutual and if you say that wearing any cloths is a choice than yes it is but then by that logic polygamy and going topless is also a choice, pornography is also a choice. Yes i totally agree that women should wear what they want but what i say that there should be some limits to any choice. Example its my choice to hit a women if she hits me but is it good? Similarly offering seats first to women then is it any discrimination to men? No. Therefore going topless and polygamy or sex bussiness is wrong. And hence there are some clothes which are said not to wear not because its a restriction but as a prescription of your limits.. There must be some morals and etiquettes in our society.
Objectification isn't a new thing. It didn't suddenly appear with item songs or short dress. It existed even before they become a thing. Objectification was always present in movies and even in non item songs. It doesn't matter if the actresses wears traditional or short western dress. Somehow the focus will end up on breast, waist, hips from all different angle. Watch 90's and some southern movies and u will see it. It's actually more than the issue of short dress it's about how the lady is presented through camera work and surrounding. Since the whole purpose of a today's item song is just to get cheap views by attracting as much perverts as they can so the makers knowingly make the girls wear short dress then objectifies them using camera and surrounds them with only boys just to ogle at her, sings lyrics that r derogatory. This creates a subconscious mindset in boys that whenever any girl even if by little is exposing her skin ogle at her , that she is like an item girl. Now to understand why objectification is less about short clothes and more about camera focus and presentation of the female through lens watch Wonder Woman (2017) , Birds of Prey (2020), Zack Synder Justice League (watch the clips of Wonder Women and Amazonians) and even some female kpop music video like Twice , BlackPink. U will see even though they r wearing short dress the camera focus is never on breast, hips, waist or captures them in typically objectifying way. It's always stays clean. WW and BOP were both were directed by women meanwhile the kpop videos mostly by men and so does Zack Synder Justice League. So why is that the women directors were able to make a whole 2hr movie without objectifying the actress even though they were wearing short dress through out the movie same with Zack Synder and the directors of kpop mv but here we r miserably failing at it?! Why instead of calling out the men who r controlling everything behind the scene and using shortness of a dress as cheap way to satisfy and justify their immoral ideas and pervertness we blame everything on short dress??!
@@Vor567tez yes dress should not be shown for cheapness. You have given good example. But you didn't Understand my point. The point is that objectification cannot be done by one gender. Example if men say that women only want money then its not correct because you yourself allowed that women in your life. You should have confirmed that is she behind your money or you. Yes there will be some goods and bads in society in both genders but its first upto you what you will promote. So Objectification is a two way process. If your are shown vulgar by any one you should object it and hence should not promote it. And when it comes to clothes the one's which are not even clothes cannot be called clothes.. Because the meaning of cloth is to cover your body but at the same time you are wearing just few pieces and naming them as clothes which is duplicitous. So if a girl or a boy wears less clothes then appossite gender should not assume that he/she is doing that because he/she is vulgar or item but at the same time the less cloth wearing people are duplicitous. Also less clothes has no limits. It can result into topless and going nude as happening in many countries. It leads to vulgarity and increased sexuality in society. So what we should do? So here comes the necessity social values. A man should be taught that if a women wears any clothes or remain naked see her as body and not an attraction or any object which for your playing(sex game). So she may not be doing it conciously so let her be as she is. Similarly women should be taught that if men become horny and watch porn there testosterone level will reduce which will ultimately affect the upcoming generations. So wear clothes which are modest and so expressing that your body is not something that anyone can look. Yes when you are at home, at gym, swimming pool, playing tennis or any physical games then here comfort is necessary so wear whatever you want may be skirts, shorts or naked. Here men need to understand that they should not be near to such places. Its there duty to remain as far as possible.. Still i want your opinion atleast reply as you are convinced or not
@@__vaidic__purush_ I understand ur point and it's true that some woman too objectify themselves which actually makes this an issue of behavior than clothes. But perception is very important in objectifying something. In summer days so many men roam here just wearing underwear and noone, no man or woman will neither eve tease them or call them perverts bcz the perception of society towards male wearing short dress is neutral. However when a woman wears a short dress even if it's far from being provocative or her waist is showing in saree suddenly alot of men will eve tease her or ogle at her while others including some woman will say she is attention seeker. Despite her behavior was modest. Why such difference? So yes not whole male gender is to be blamed but it's definetly the fault of certain perverted men who got enough power and control to spread their ill perspective and now it's affecting whole population and the cycle continues.
@@Vor567tez here you should obviously make them wear full clothes. Men are less shameful and self controlled hence make mistakes but just to make equality you should not do the same stupid things that men are doing. somewhere you have to see the difference between diversity and discrimination. males will do mistakes because he is less controlled but you being more strong here should sacrifice for him and should not do that which make him go towards sexuality. hence you should wear clothes a little bit more. Its same as that a men should preserve a women and should not slap girl in return even if she slaps and also keeping girls first and also offering girls to sit on the seat by remaining himself standing because its not matriarchy or discrimination but diversity. how? because here women are less physically strong, they already feel much pain every month(periods) and so here males should bear physical pain and preserve women in their weakness.
@@__vaidic__purush_ basically, men should help women in terms of physical strength and women should help men when it comes to mental strength. 🤔 Then we can have a balance in society.

This wt equality in women minds .
My personal take on this is If you wear a skimpy outfit to a club and then men come up to you, staring at you, then it's not their fault, because men have been biologically wired to be attracted to the other sex. That's why many industries like the porn industry are thriving. That's why Instagram models are a thing. If you present yourself as an object, then you will be treated as such, much like pornstars To a lesser extent, a girl wearing a skimpy outfit to a club. Ppl are looking at your body, because the dress you wore is displaying your body. Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't wear dresses like that, as long as it's appropriate in that scenario, wear whatever the fuck you want, but you can't stop other ppl judging you or staring at you, that's why you can't be offended by that You can't eat the cake and want to keep the cake for later, you can't get everything you want in life, that's not how it works. Btw same goes for men as well, it's just women being objectified is for some reason a bigger issue than men, when both should be equally discussed, that's why I mainly took a female example instead of males
No someone wears whatever he/she wants unless it is fully not allowed. And it's their fault that they see women as object. Have you ever seen a woman seeing a man in LUX cosy underwear as a object? No. But some man do see woman in Jockey underwear as object. See the difference?
@@godtrxgaming7715 Well everyone has the right to think whatever he/ she wants. No one is allowed to change anyone's thinking without the person's permission. The thing is.. Men are more sexually charged than women... And studies show that men are more sexually attracted at younger age and women are more at mid 30s..now its ohk to be sexually attracted to someone..

So by that two statements, she meant a woman wearing a bikini to a stage is objectifying herself by choice...So it is self objectification so why blame men for that?
Objectification is when you look at a human being like an object to be used for some purpose and your don't consider how your actions would affect that person both physically and emotionally. The debate is much more nuanced than how these school students did it. I don't think a person can objectify herself. Can you think of yourself just an object and not consider your feelings?
@@expeditioner9322 I don't get it lol. If objectifying is treating others as objects, i don't think any sane men would objectify a woman except for some psychos and rapists.
Btw, every individual have their opinion and way of thinking. Idk what is objectifying here? Ofcourse , there are people who naturally think that she must be showing her body in public on purpose and she is shameless.
Not at all! You are not wrong. These are some pseudo-feminist who are responsible for these kind of incidents

Team B won in my books
Firstly the statement for the debate must be: "Should women dress modestly or not"
And I think that there are some points against team A that I will state:
1.If you won't go nude in public, why won't you? cuz you want to obey societal construct of appropriateness right?

👎👎👎
Think without bringing femanism in between
Yess that's Shows Your mindset
🤦♂️👎🏻👎🏻
I think in the whole debate team b makes more sense than team a .
So if a girl or a boy wears less clothes then appossite gender should not assume that
he/she is doing that because he/she is vulgar or item but at the same time the less cloth wearing people are duplicitous.

My personal take on this is
If you wear a skimpy outfit to a club and then men come up to you, staring at you, then it's not their fault, because men have been biologically wired to be attracted to the other sex. That's why many industries like the porn industry are thriving. That's why Instagram models are a thing.
If you present yourself as an object, then you will be treated as such, much like pornstars
To a lesser extent, a girl wearing a skimpy outfit to a club.
Ppl are looking at your body, because the dress you wore is displaying your body. Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't wear dresses like that, as long as it's appropriate in that scenario, wear whatever the fuck you want, but you can't stop other ppl judging you or staring at you, that's why you can't be offended by that
You can't eat the cake and want to keep the cake for later, you can't get everything you want in life, that's not how it works.
But before turning someone's thinking into actions, this should be realized how their actions affect others . Rather than changing someone's mindset, a person should be taught to respect everyone, no matter who someone is.
The thing is.. Men are more sexually charged than women... And studies show that men are more sexually attracted at younger age and women are more at mid 30s..now its ohk to be sexually attracted to someone.. But if you do something inappropriate without consent is the prblem. Now, as for the club... Yes women can dress sexily to attract attention or may be express her sexuality... N its ohk to get attracted but degrading her for the same is bad I feel. You can appreciate beauty. But dont really know if I can convey it correctly because I find man attractive so I compliment them. Not in a creepy way obviously. But I don't degrade them.
@@puccaangelina926 I also agree with you but please change the last line from ' respecting everyone ' to ' respecting those who deserve it '
@@212letliveonearth wtf is expressing her sexuality 🤔😏
Western and modern women r just attention wh##es nothing more.
Who tf conducts a debate on a statement like that !?
First you mind your language, please. This debate is not for people like you.
@@verbattle U better learn how to give statements for discussions which can contribute to some good values to the society then I will mind my language . The discussion is obviously not for me if such a statement is given , it indeed suits those who think objectifying is okay . The intro itself shows how its gng to be. Think of why people don't like the statement instead of shutting them up .

Team B hats off for cleverness...Loved it
I don't know what you found impressive about Team B. Was it the loudness? They hardly made any good arguments. They claimed in situations it is rights for men to objectify women but they did not provide a single example. They mostly relied on emotional appeal rather than logical reasoning.

Even a father's sincere correction is portrayed by feminist as objectification

What you put out in the world is what you receive. If you sexualize yourself by your dressing, expect others to react accordingly. The extent to which they react is where the problem lies. Some people don’t understand limits and boundaries. This is not something you can realistically change, not unless mind control suddenly becomes a reality. Avoid putting yourself in situations you know that you would be uncomfortable in. The world is not a safe place. Don’t fool yourself into believing that anyone is above being harmed.

@@krizzz444 Ok, I'm 16 y'o as well, and if they're mature enough to debate on sexualizing, they're mature enough to get sexualized.
If they are dressing to impress themselves who is even stopping them ? Their outdated parents ? That's ok. But that won't stop me from thinking what I want, I'll objectify. Even if a girl is fully covered, I get attracted to her. How am I wrong ? I'm not groping her or anything. I'm not even calling them names.

It shouldn't matter what the girl is wearing cause the men at they party shouldn't be objectifying her either. Team A is debating the statement with facts.
