Great video, hard to quibble with that list of 7. I am a long time Tucson resident. Apson and Taqueria Pico de Gallo are my favorites. There are dozens of other places that are very close. Karamelo King, Aqui Con El Nene, BK , El Merendero. Hot dog cart on Alvernon called Sinaloasense. I think Tucson has so many great places that I will never be able to try them all. Especially south side. Glad you like the food here in Tucson!
Thanks for the great reviews. Rosa's on Ft. Lowell is pretty good too. Just a suggestion, Spanish words like costillas and quesadillas that have double L's should be pronounced co-stee-yas and kay-sah-dee-yas.
MY husband and I love the food at Leo's Mexican Restaurant on Speedway . Leo is a great Sonoran food cook and Maria makes sure everyone is welcome and happy. Many of their customers either know each other or Maria and Leo know them and old customers like us are greeted by name. Sometimes she even knows what we will order. I just made myself hungry. Maria makes the Chilis Rellano (Ray-on-O, double L's are pronounced as a Y) herself and they are amazing every time. Tucson has been named as America's Gastronomy City. No other city has that designation, and it's not just for Mexican food. We have great food period.
Next time you hit Aqui Con El Nene at 4415 Flowing Wells Road, try the Carne Asada Papancha. it is one of my favourite things to order and one of their specialties. For Mexican Street Tacos, one of the best places to get them is Calle Tepa at 6151 East Broadway Boulevard. The tacos there are packed full and packed with flavour. For a sit-down dinner, one cannot go wrong with The Guadalajara Grill at 1220 East Prince Road. I have taken friends from out-of-town there, and they loved it.
UNESCO Designation of City of Gastronomy for Tucson is well earned. We have had agriculture practiced here since the Middle ages, perhaps longer. Just had the very best Saturday late morning brunch at the traditional hipster Mexico City higher end border to border cuisine with world class green, red or mole sauces on tamales, tacos or enchiladas. Like Charro's, just a few blocks away, in price and a fresher more modern environment with live evening. music at La Chingada Mexican Cuisine. Incredible!
El charro is strait nasty theres no mexicans eating there ever they pre cook all there tacos early in the morning aka sand bag there carne asada isnt grilled they havnt been good since my grandma days lmao!!😂 they strait sold out owner is a gambling degenerate
Out of all the Mexican food I’ve eaten in the US Arizona has THEE best representation of the Mexican cuisine hands down. Tex-Mex Texas doesn’t even come close.
OMG... YES... I moved from Tucson in 2016. I will never never go back... but I LOVED MiNiDito and knew all who were there and they knew my family. Thanks for your review!
I'm glad you include my favorite, Nene. That chili taco is ridiculous. If you're around again and want something quick and good, Paco's has a drive through and is pretty damn good. Right next to it is Quesadillas- they have an incredible rib eye taco. I'm from Santa Barbrara, a super wealthy town. The food in Tucson is so much better.
Paco's is solid/decent. But I absolutely hated Quesadillas. They use mozzarella for quesadillas, don't make their own salsas, and there's just no mexican food at all to be found there. :(
Oh awesome! Mi Nidito. My favorite!! Wonderful staff, amazing food!!🙌👏💫💫💫💫💫💫💜💜💜💜💜💜 Personally the Sonoran Hotdogs at 36thvand Park is much better than El Guerrero to me!!
Ugh el guerro… I live here and won’t eat there! Everyone swears by it but I know their secret. They cook the dogs on a wood/cardboard grill. That processed cardboard really adds that extra flavor! I’ve seen it while waiting in the drive thru at 2 different locations. Gross. El Sinaloense Hot Dog Cart is my go to 🤤🤤
@@TucsonHipHopHeadSince78 El Güero Canelo Restaurant, my bad you probably know it now. There's 2 or 3 locations, I just really don't like them enough to not care about messing up their name after seeing them stoking the grill with cardboard.

Sad that you missed all the good places relying on long standing known restaurants and the reviews already posted. Notable misses - La Frida, El Antojo Poblano, El Terrero all are far superior to any of these well known places.
Born in Tucson. Moved away years and years ago. Live in PNW. Miss the Mexican food from Tucson. Grew up going to Midway Molina’s and having Mary as our Waitress. Red Burro and best Guacamole. Tucson has changed. Love the people…..but have to say….Go Sun Devils!!!!!
It was fun to watch a non resident try to eat tacos while spilling the contents all over the place. This feels like a paid promotional video not to say that the restaurants are not amazing because they are and I value the staff more than most other professions.
My man! Hit up Losbetos, Grab some tamales/Sonoran dogs from a roadside vendor, some roasted chiles from outside a grocery store, an escamocha….all the best food is hidden…all this is like telling someone to go to Primantis…
You gotta pound a 6 pack of Tecate while doing shots of backyard bacanora right before hitting the drive thru at a Losbetos!! When you sleep that off hit Pacos for a chorizo, potato, egg breakfast burrito and a couple Pacíficos!!! CHINGÓN !!!

Miss Tucson. Grew up there and ate a lotta great Mexican food
Hands down Tucson has the best Mexican food in the whole country
No doubt about it!
Agree
I just moved back from Texas an those Texans don’t have any idea Tucson literally has the best!!!
Guero is ass!! The bun is ass, to much bun. Over priced. Rosa’s Mexican food has the best flat enchiladas.. can’t argue with a Tucson native
I’m Mexican I don’t eat “Mexican food” in Tucson
I recommend two other restaurants. Jalisco and Karachimaca. And for Sonoran hot dogs some of these street vendors are pretty delicious!
Although your Spanish needs work, you picked some of the best places. Try the Carne Seca at El Charro next time.
Hahaha yes. I'll make a note
Caramelo king, taqueria juanitos, taqueria rapidos, porfis, taniass 33 are all mexican good classics worth trying.

Rib eye taco!
I’ve been here 6 years and all my hometown friends ALWAYS Say Mi Niditio is the very best by far!
