- The work done for this video is not the "not-so-fun" parts of building, but man, am I super excited it's done! One of the most important things I need for my sewing studio is, of course, electricity! In this video, you'll see me digging a trench for the wire, go over some design ideas and progress, and share what this project means to me in this moment. @lindaquinn2404. My mom often used the phrase "I get tired just watching". I think the same of the free yardwork and cleaning people I watch. They go the extra mile and some go many extra miles at one place. I say aloud sometimes I would have had to leave already.

I have a shed for my quilting machine. I love it. We had to burry the electrical 20” deep. We eventually hired help.

Girl, go rent a Ditch Witch to dig that trench! You will get done so much further much faster! And maybe a paint with primer in it would help cover those dark spots!

Looking great! Glad you don’t have deadlines to complete your shed so you can enjoy the process. I would go a little darker on the out color and definitely the blonde flooring. As you mentioned, the lighter color won’t pick up all the fun threads and creativity that will be happening inside.🤗 Loved your dad peeking on the opposed of the shed! 😂 Slowly but Shirley it’s all coming together and you made it happen! 👍🏻

I most definitely vote for blonde flooring - it won’t show all the lint and threads as drastically as the dark floors. Dark shows every single thing. You’re doing a great job. Will be worth all the time , effort, planning and hard work! Congrats!

I think a darker hue on the outside would give the best results. If you put a 2nd coat of the same light color, the dark shades of original paint may STILL show through some, requiring a 3rd coat!!! I've had that happen before!

Go with the lighter floor. Dark floors are pretty until the smallest amount of dust gets on them. I believe us who sew are a certain type - and would go nuts seeing dust or dirt. The constant cleaning will take away from sewing time! Good job on your progress.

You are making great progress! I really like the color. If you like the gray/peach color, you could do the trim in the gray. The white looks great too. I think you’ll be happier with the lighter flooring. I’m looking forward to your next video!

It's going to be awesome!! And you will love it even more because of all the hard work you personally put into this. I like both floor plank colors but you will probably be happier with the lighter color just because of fabric dust. My son in law painted a cabin on a lake in MI a very similar shade as your studio. It probably had a little more red and brown undertones but still a bright color. It was a very happy color. It had been previously painted that typical cabin red so I'm sure that affected the outcome but overall - very similar. I really liked it. It looked great in every season. Looking forward to seeing your free motion quilting on the custom quilt you are making. You are quite the multi-tasker!! I just finished my Lady Lancaster quilt jacket hack. I'm pretty proud of it. I tasked my brain above and beyond what it wanted to do since I didn't have a pattern. But I didn't make any fatal mistakes and I like it. It will be my house uniform all winter. Always enjoy your videos!

Hey Miriam!!! Great progress and smart dad with the plastic! Getting the dirt out of the grass to backfill is a big mess and that plastic took care of that! 🎉 The color looks good on camera, but if you want to adjust, now is the time! 🤗 I like dark floor BUT I do believe the lighter will be a great choice and it looks beautiful! You’re doing a great job and I bet learning so much, keep it up and thank you for sharing this with us!! ♥️

As we get older, my sister and I hear of so many problems with friends and family as well as our own "getting older" issues. I joke that we might need to go in search of good news. Hi, just found your channel & love it. I have the lighter wood type in my tiny house, I really like it. I live with 3 cats, 5 dogs & 1 lovely dove so you can imagine what comes in on their paws. The floor doesn't show the dirt & is very easy to keep clean. Cheers!

So nice to see how things are moving forward and looking wonderful. I’ve renovated many houses, doing siding, plumbing, electrical etc, and know how much energy it takes. I would suggest the lighter flooring. I like the color of the studio but if you decide to go a shade darker, if you get paint that has a primer in it, you may be able to get by with only one coat. Nice job. I love how things are going. You will love having room to quilt.

I have three blue ridge mini splits in my quilt retreat areas they work really well. I have two wall units and one ceiling mounted unit. 😊

I agree about going a bit darker on the exterior paint. It looks like a shade of melon, and I visualize more of a light pumpkin. As fir flooring...not dark. I have 3 dogs and quilt daily. Dark shows everything.

Love the color although a tad darker may be easier to put another coat over the darker grey. I would definitely go with the Blonde flooring color. The Lighter the items inside your shed the larger the shed will look. If you put darker interior it will make the space seem smaller. At least this is what we were told when choosing colors for painting the interior rooms in our house. Looks great and I am super excited to follow your progress. Take your time and enjoy the process. The heat is horrible to work in and you do not want to over do it and end up hurting yourself. It will all get finished in due time. Be well, take care and stay hydrated!!

Great to see the progress on your studio, Miriam👍💪 Yes, you might want a darker or more muted shade on the outside if you are finding it's very luminous in the sunlight. Paint colours can very hard to get right, for they always look different in situ than on the card😕
I loved both floors - choose whichever fits best with the scheme you have in mind. It'll be great.

i would build like a pavillion to sit in, instead of a picnic table. I've seen where people has built like a solid floor on paver blocks and then use old doors for the walls and ceiling. Have your dad put a plug in on the outside of the building and you can plug in lights for your setting area.

Lighter floor! It will reflect light back and make space seem larger. Dark floor will absorb light, making space seem darker.

o - and you won't have to drive over that trench with anything, the dirt will settle all by itself just fine in a few weeks to a couple months. You can't believe how jelly I am of that beautiful black dirt!!! So much better than the old red clay I have here in Virginia

SO very excited for you Miriam! TYFS your progress along the way with your followers. Hard work will pay off in the long run, and doing it right the first time is sometimes extra effort but it certainly protects eliminating future problems that can occur👍🏼💕💕💕
One suggestion, the buried electric cable needs to be photographed and marked so it can be watched periodically for wash away of the top soil😩 Ask me how I know😱 We did the same thing in our pool area, several yrs later, we needed to gently till around the inside of privacy fence to place planters. My sweet hubby found the buried cable WITH the tiller!😱😱😱 Thankfully he was not injured but the cable was sliced and had to be removed, replaced and covered with a protectant pipe for future protection.

I am enjoying this project. You will have a great studio that you will be very proud of. I think a little darker paint would blend in the background a little better. Also the lighter floors would make you happier. I have had the darker floors and they had to be swept every day. Sometimes more.

I was going to do the same thing but I moved my husband office to my long big long bedroom that I had so much space in the spare room I put my long arm in it and out of the garage plenty of room in my studio so happy but I did do homework about the sheds thank you

I don't know how this would work for you but I think I would try to put in big ceramic tiles. Like 12 by 12 or 24 by 24. Tyler is so much easier to and it will help brighten it up. We have a habitat for humanity store here where I live. Many times you can pick up small quantities like you would need for that at a very small price
