It is locked. Obviously, having found this, I do not have a charger. I would like to do your method of unlocking it, so here is my question: Would a generic watch charger do the trick? They sell them on Amazon for like 7 bucks, or do I need an actual APPLE watch charger. You help would be greatly appreciated. Rob

Thanks. I'm new to Apple but, to me, you shouldn't have to do an actual hard reset just for the passcode. There should be a way to restore passcode from the owner's iphone.

Do as he says at first -set watch on charger -click side button until it shows up the power off button But instead of doing as he says now u will press down and hold onto the “crown” aka that circle button above the side button we just previously pressed. Now u will have the option to reset There will be a pop up on ur phone that will ask to pair with the watch click yes
why doesnt anything happen when i hold the power off slider, its already charged and everything looks the same but when i hold the power off slider nothing happens nor does it zoom out like how your watch does
Found a series 4 in the box in the garbage, it was used but they put it back in its box and threw it away, I reset it thanks to this video and it works good as new

In this case it works like you show. Your watch was on before you do this. In my case in can not turn on the watch because it is locked with the iCloud code from the old owner and i can not contact him again. rrrrrrrr.
