- Two ex-KiwiRail DBR class locomotives haul passenger services on the Goldfields Railway between Waihi and Waikino in New Zealand. This stretch of track used to be part of the East Coast Main Trunk, linking the Waikato with the Bay of Plenty, until the Kaimai Tunnel was opened in 1978.
Great to see!! I miss seeing DBR 1213 on the Hokitika line.
Wow this is really awesome I will have to have another ride
Crazy to see DBs in the coromandel
Great video 👍🤙. You frame it well.
There appears to be a little jitter within the footage. It could be mismatched frame rate between footage & project settings with your editing software, or also export settings. A slow speed data card in your camera is another possibility.
If only they will ever connect the line back to the NIMT again...
DBR Forever. Good to see these in use. Will they be restored?
@@peterfinucane8122 They are privately owned and on lease to the Goldfields Railway, I believe, so I guess it’s up to the owner whether they’ll be restored!
Ex Kiwirail, but like ex Tranzrail.
