Ive been waiting for a game like this to come for your channel for a long time! Hearing you talk about this subject and giving insight into what happens inside an ambulance and why its happening is very interesting. Would love to see a couple of more vids on the demo with different outcomes and cant wait to see you play the full game. Good stiff brotha Mike. So excited for this.
Such an awesome video! It's cool hearing your insight and experiences with each call. Definitely would love to see more from you if you're liking the game as well!
Great job Mike. I think the game is expecting you to do certain things in order which is why you got that D rating on one of the call outs. I find your experience makes this a great game for you to make videos or even live stream with. Thanks again Mike for giving this game a try.
Thanks John, ya saw a few mistakes on the D rating. Forgot to wrap one of the wounds etc. Of course in real life, you can't help but notice blood leaking all over the floor, so there is that too lol
@@BlueLineVibes It's pretty clear right there 4:14 and here 11:00 that your partner is stealing Ketamine from the ambulance and she's using it on the job! Maybe there is an option to report this to your boss or directly to your local police station? 🤔
I'm so glad RUclips recommended your video to me. Instant subscribe from me. I look forward to seeing more videos. I wish I could have been an EMT, but my health doesn't allow me to. Thanks for your service.
As a Type 1 diabetic, I totally get the thought behind refusing the hospital. Ambulance ride alone is gonna financially run me an arm and leg I'm already liable to lose thanks to the disease, and once my sugar is on it's way back up I'll start feeling better soon enough. That said I've had repeated low sugars which led to me actually needing to go to the hospital.
Exactly 100% Most people do not understand this, those that do not suffer from DM I - They think "You should go to the hospital" Personally I respect the decision of the patient. If they are able to talk to me and make a sound judgement, I usually just ask them to check their BS every few hours and make their own educated opinion. The ambulance ride for even a non emergency is close to $1k, if you throw in "checking vitals" well now ..... that will be an extra $100 every time I push a button. Sad really and I am not making lite of that. I wish you continued health my friend.
@@BlueLineVibes I get so upset every time I hear of the US medical system, this is not to lay it on you personally, but it is a shame that money has to be a part of the equation when your health is at risk. The decision should be made from a health perspective only, ie. how do I feel, vs how do I feel about the bill. Also, this is not a field where the costumer can always chose, and its often a yes or no question, as you can go looking for the best price when you are actively bleeding out. The most paradoxical about the US health care system is that it cost more per capita than in some countries which have universal health care. I know us europeans bash the US for their health care system all the time. In this exact example I could actually understand not wanting to go to the hospital, if you had episodes like this enough times to know that you were alright and how to treat yourself, but if the cost of the ambulance ride scared somebody away from going that later got hurt or worse it would be a really sad situation.
NY AEMT here. I actually enjoy the fact that the game doesn't allow you to grab vitals on site. The issue I see in Real Life is many EMS providers relying on their monitor vs the patient. I myself am a big offender of grabbing the monitor for many of my calls. I have been recently assessing my more critical patients in the patient compartment vs on scene. Overall I have enjoyed the demo. Not too simplistic but also not too realistic. This is going to be a great game for recruiting new EMS providers, which we always need more of especially in this age.
For a computer game it hits the mark. Yes the full release will have more to do, medic wise. I am a 30 year plus paramedic and this was very enjoyable. Reminds of the old PC DOS game Life and Death. That would be a good remake. Thank you for posting.
EMT for 5 years here - I don't mind being in the back, but I do prefer driving! Seeing the traffic and not having the different sirens would drive me nuts! We had one unit that was poorly programmed for the interface and was lacking the yelp, made it very difficult getting through traffic sometimes (not to mention my rig didn't have the air horn like some departments!). On the other hand, we had one unit that had the phaser sound programmed in and that was honestly my favorite rig! My OIC was a medic (also the assistant chief), and he hated driving, so it played in my favor! Hopefully, they can allow mods and you get your frequent fliers and have to fill out the actual PCR! Subscribed good sir!
One day, you'll be simulating complex stuff like Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation! We're already seeing games like this simulating Cardiac Arrests, Overdoses, etc! I remember when I was younger age 12, and I was playing Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2, and I remember I was doing an imaginary simulation, where there was a cardiac arrest! Obviously it wasn't a full simulation, but back then I was thinking how cool it would be if there was a game I could play where I could actually SIMULATE EMS response to such a situation. One time, I was sick, and I was feverish, and I had this VERY realistic dream of a game where I was simulating following the ACLS protocol. In my dream, the monitor/defibrillator was a Lifepak 10, as I was use to seeing a lot back then, and I remember how cool that dream was, and now look at where we are today!
Those dreams are starting to become a reality. I remember way before massive multiplayer games, I use to have daydreams of how cool it would be to play a game with 100 other people in a war simulation. You could drive tanks, jeeps, people running all over the ground to get to objectives with bombs going off over your head. Jets and helicopters fighting in the sky ..... that was years before Battlefield came out. Here we are years later and it has surpassed all of my daydreams.
Anamnesis, in a medical context is a patient's account of their medical history. It's usually used in a philosophical context referring to a recollection of events from a supposed prior existence.
@ no worries, just providing insight in case anyone watching thought it was made up or something. It certainly sounds made up. I’d never heard of it until this game and a quick google search
When you "hit the pedestrian" it was clearly visible that he ran in front of you... That's a thing I see every now and then, people running across in front of emergency vehicles instead of waiting for 10-20 seconds... I always look where the siren sound is coming from and walk when they passed...
Ok, I am seriously intrigued with this. I am a MS/AL medic that’s moved to industrial medicine/firefighting. I can’t wait to see how jacked up this is! (Posted before I watch the video).
I think this is a very interesting game. I did not know we can do tourniquet and neck braces like that. That’s definitely something I’m gonna try out. I enjoyed getting your perceptive of the game. I’ve enjoyed the couple play throughs that I’ve played. Looking forward to seeing the finish game and you react to it.
I am looking forward to a more open style of gameplay. Bigger and better Callouts, unlocking new equipment to help with the larger callouts, better access to medication and procedures to help with the bigger callouts that you get with that type of equipment and medication. Once you complete a section of the map, then things open up even more, giving you that sense of accomplishment. After you complete everything there is to do, then the daily life starts as a medic. You might get an anxiety attack in one call, a scraped knee on another call and then a cardiac arrest the 4th call.
Right off the bat you already have given a medical tip about having the blood pressure cuff on the right arm, VS the left. That's why I wanted you to try this game to see your IRL experience.
Well you can put the BP cuff on either arm technically, but it is advisable to put it on the opposite arm of the SPO2 (pulse Oximeter) as the cuff can get rather tight, it can potentially give a false reading for several seconds of a critical O2 level that you are watching. Usually it gives off an alert when that happens, pretty much the same alert if the Pulse Ox becomes detached. The game actually did something cool that I didn't talk about, if you have a tourniquet on both upper arms, you can't get a Pulse Ox on the patient :)
Other than the temp being in F, this looks interesting, if a little US centric. I started as a medical scientist in a hospital pathology lab and mortuary. In 2009 I went through the recruitment for Ambulance Officer/Paramedic in my state, in my country, which is a fully government run service. Sadly, right at interview, I'd successfully completed all the testing, and was about to interview, when I developed a major illness and require the removal of the ileum. I self declared medically unfit to continue, due to the possible um issues during a long incident. I even had to step down from a direct firefighting with my volunteer firefighting role, though was able to volunteer in comms. I did manage to volunteer with St John First Aid in my state as a professional first aider, as, being event based, I could work around my condition in safety. Unfortunately, my partner suffered a CVA and I had to lose that as well, and am now her carer. Just goes to show how life can bowl you for stumps. Anyway, thank you for your service to the people of your city/town.
Thank you for your service as well. The great thing about being apart of the medical field is that each and every person that is part of the field all share a comradery even if they have never met before. Whether they are employed in the states or across the pond so to speak. The end goal is the treatment of an individual that is in need of help. Even if it is supportive care, it is just as important as the individual seeking a surgical or drastic intervention. By the way, even though Ambulance Life a Paramedic Simulator, is sort of based off American Medicine, the developers want to bring the option for different reading formats(I.e. Celsius and Kilograms for example) I am already use to medication conversion with kilograms and pounds anyways, so I welcome the optional settings.
I've been wondering if you were gonna do a video on this game since you had mentioned being a real paramedic before. I saw Faviano's video about it the other day and it made me think this would be a great game to see Mike from BLV play. Would love to see a full series of this game from you when it is released, assuming the gameplay is atleast as good as it appears to be in the demo.
it's so good to see a real paramedic play a paramedic game. A question, in a multiple casualty accident, won't they send multiple ambulances. Won't you be able to ask for an additional ambulance? I am washing a paramedic tv show and whenever they get multiple casualties they ask for additional. Although I know a paramedic TV show won't be 100 percent accurate and also is based in Poland. I think I will download this game for myself and see how much am I gonna mess up.
Absolutely, they would have had a ton of medical response on scene. I think when the final game comes out, for a major catastrophe, they will have like small tents set up.
What I like to see in a demo I would like to see how to treat a gunshot wound and somebody having a heart attack in order how to treat it and all the steps you got to take This is gonna be an awesome challenge for me and I’m gonna get it when it comes out in February.
That would be very interesting! Not sure if they will add GSW, but the will definitely have Full Cardiac Arrest and I can see how it would be high tension for sure.
You know, I can honestly say, I hate going code 3 to the ER in the back, lol. I also worked at an agency that actively encouraged medics to stay on scene and perform all treatments you physically could then go code 1 unless the PT was very unstable or code STEMI or code stroke, etc. We even drew blood and started wide spectrum antibiotics on code septis. And we carried whole blood on QRVs, but somehow a lucas CPR machine was "just not in the budget" for the county lol 13 years before I just couldnt take being paid 12 bucks an hour and had to leave I miss it every day
At that point you should have suggested to the medical director, that the ambulance could carry tents and start an urgent care center as well 😄 That is crazy the treatment options your department offered. We only have one area that is far from our jurisdiction that we have to assist with and it's 30 minutes away. Gotta love those 2am tones. If there were no cars on an open freeway for 10 miles we usually just leave lights on and cut the sirens as they can give you a headache for sure
@@BlueLineVibes 100% lol 😆 we also had 18 "skilled" nursing facilities in our county and I swear to God they had cameras in the bunk rooms soon as you went to sleep boom 90yo female confused
I worked as an EMT 20 years ago so I am no where near current but them throwing you into a triage situation without explanation is dirty. The fact you can’t transport 2 patients is crazy.
I know right. I had to play the demo a few times just to see what the game was wanting me to do. I mean you and I both know what the colors of the triage mean, but people will definitely need to study the handbook a bit to get this game down.
@BlueLineVibes it's a new state protocol added beginning of 2024. But I've had the opportunity to give it twice myself this year and yes not all agencies in Pennsylvania are doing it. It's alot on the back end to be a participating service.
The developers behind Highway Police Simulator made this, btw per Jeff Favigano. They've redeemed themselves for sure. The game looks fun, and I will consider pre-ordering or buying it when it comes out. Thank you for your service, Mike! 😁🫡
Im a medic too and in all the tests and classes I've had I've also never heard the word anamnesis either lol. Also they do need different tones for the sirens. Love flipping through the tones at an intersection. The dumb AI drivers might actually be more realistic, you know what Im talking about!
I think the patient with the D rating also had a bleeding arm/shoulder on the left. The first time you checked out that person, there was blood running down the upper arm before you switched sides and looked at the leg
Ya, saw that at the very end and should have wrapped it. I forgot to mention that in the final game release, they will have a setting that you can treat patients longer and not get penalized. I think in my head I was trying to prevent my partner "Angela / Natalie" from yelling at me that we need to get going ...
Firstly, greetings from a German EMT. Its a bit funny, this Game simulates a US Ambulance but is made by a German studio, so when you're a professional, its look like the studio had asked German Paramedics about how they do stuff and just put a US Skin on it. For Example: “Anamnesis”... interesting, you never used this word. I use it literary use it at every single call, because one of the first paragraph in my patient protocol is "Patient Anamnesis". Its its called like this a lot of Times, especially in Training... "what was your Anamnesis of your patient". If you dont use that... what exactly would you call it, especially for such interaction markers? So, second call, some kind of explosion. If you wanna make further Videos, can you explain how Triage works in the US? I know this Game is a huge gamification about that, but i find it interesting to learn about different concepts on how to deal such calls. One thing we have since a few years is the SpCO... so we can measure CO with a big clips, looks like an PulsOx... is that a thing in the US too? We especially use them to looks for seriosnus of an CO Intox, so if its above 20%, we have to call a flight ambulance and gets the patient flewn into a pressure chamber, lower then 20%, transport into a burncare unit. The Car accident for is very weird... i know... a game... but what about "stay and play"? The patient has a severe B-Problem and a critical C-Problem thats needed to be treated. From the kinetic, i would assume spinal and pelvis injuries, so she would need immobilization with a backboard or a Vacuum mattress and definitely a pelvis cuff. I get it, some things are not simulated in the Game, but just drive her code 3 to the ER with unsolved B- and C-Problems feels very wrong. its sounds a bit like i want to say "oh, you make everything wrong and bla bla..." i'm sorry, i didnt mean it that way, i'm just interested in how things are done around the globe
Does the game include the winter weather mode, where the homeless all suddenly develop the magical short of breathing complaints for the warm ride to the hospital?
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I was informing the EMTs that play this game that you can't do any monitoring outside of the ambulance. Meaning, I was giving advice how to "Play The Game" - this is a game mechanic, I have no control over that. Of course we bring the monitor outside the ambulance. I usually have most vitals done in the first 1 minute of being on scene.
@BlueLineVibes oh ok gotcha, cause I was gonna say lifepack 15s aren't that heavy, and zolls are awful, but they are pretty light. But yeah, it's weird that you can't do a full set in the game outside the box.
I can't wait for this Gabe to come out hey do you think you could help me out with this game? Maybe try to play with me since your a licensed paramedic?

love to see a couple of more vids on the demo with different outcomes and cant wait to see you play the full game. Good stiff brotha Mike.
So excited for this.
Glad to see people like it. I was afraid it would be a wash as per usual if anything is different on this channel lol
27:45 " That's the least of your worries; sorry I shouldn't have said that out loud" (continues to ask questions) 😅😅😅😅😅
I was about to mention "Months of physical therapy and ..."
Sorry, that is how I have always dealt with Stress and morbid stuff 😄
@@BlueLineVibes me too 🤣
@@BlueLineVibes
It's pretty clear right there 4:14 and here 11:00 that your partner is stealing Ketamine from the ambulance and she's using it on the job!
Maybe there is an option to report this to your boss or directly to your local police station? 🤔
Love the video ! Excited to see you play a game like this since you experience it in real life add a cool perspective! Keep up the good work benzo
Great video. I loved how you explained about real life information. Very interesting info. Hopefully you make more like this with your IRL knowledge.
I was waiting for this one!! Great play through!
It's a decent game to be honest.
@ yeah it definitely looks like it could be fun.
I'm so glad RUclips recommended your video to me. Instant subscribe from me. I look forward to seeing more videos. I wish I could have been an EMT, but my health doesn't allow me to. Thanks for your service.
Thank you
Great to see you play this buddy.make a series of gameplays on this live to hear about your experiences as an EMT
loved this gameplay!
I really enjoyed the video, I’m gonna have to give the demo a try! Always cool to see a professional give games like these a try.
Danged pedestrian ran into the ambulance! Locals! This was fun to watch.
Exactly 100%
Most people do not understand this, those that do not suffer from DM I - They think "You should go to the hospital" Personally I respect the decision of the patient.
Wow, that's great youtube recommended me this. I do like such games both playing and watching letsplays.
Cool. Welcome to the channel. I have this already purchased, so stay tuned for release in February. Hope to see you back!
Really really hope to see more of this on the channel great video and game to watch
Thanks
I remember that game actually, I guess we are showing our age.
I like how you treat the patients like real people
I definitely would be more interested in watching you play more of this game after its release, hopefully they add more sirens lol 🙏
Haha " HE RAN OVER ME" was gold.
"I was an emt for over 20 years..."
Me: How??? Do you live in a box??
"... And I'm also a trauma nurse"
Me: Ah that's how.
So I can literally say I have spent half my life in a box :)
Thank you for your service buddy!!!🙏🏻
Appreciate that!
My dad has been a Paramedic for about 30 years or so. I’m an ER Tech. I would so love to play this game and I’d love to see you play this also!
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this review
Well an EMT game is a actuly a very nice variety from the other stuff :D
Indeed it is!
Awesome video my bro!
Ooo I like this. I've always been interested in medicine. Please make more videos on this :)
Would love to see you do more of this!
even tho i am not in the U.S.A thank you for your service as a paramedic and happy new year
Appreciate that! Happy New Year to you too!
I do like this, definitely would love to see more of it.
The only demo I played 4 times lol. Not bad actually.
This looks awesome dude!
Game looks good. Thanks for an awesome video 👍🏼
Bro! I didn't expect that intense ending!
Ya pretty cool. Game releases in February and can't wait to play that scene!
Been waiting for this
So far, the demo is pretty decent. Game release I am hoping it will look even better.
Anamnesis, in a medical context is a patient's account of their medical history. It's usually used in a philosophical context referring to a recollection of events from a supposed prior existence.
I didn't say that I did not know what it was, I am just telling you that it is NOT used in the field. Or at least in Texas
@ no worries, just providing insight in case anyone watching thought it was made up or something. It certainly sounds made up. I’d never heard of it until this game and a quick google search
Thank you for all that you do
I didn't know you were a Paramedic brother so am I. Small world. Stay safe out there!
You as well
When you "hit the pedestrian" it was clearly visible that he ran in front of you... That's a thing I see every now and then, people running across in front of emergency vehicles instead of waiting for 10-20 seconds... I always look where the siren sound is coming from and walk when they passed...
Mike, more of this please, you gained a sub!
Excellent narration! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Please do more of this!!
Please do more of these I love this video
Good stuff buddy!! Try not to let the AI run into the box again! 🤣🤣🤣
I will try, I need to show that video to my lawyers now ✊😄
Loved this vid on the game so, please make more videos on the demo!
Yeah, I'm going to try to do full walkthroughs of this game when it's released.
As a former AMR EMT in Tucson I also had no idea what amnesis was lol
We actually just introduced a statewide protocol for blood in the field in WV. Now supply is a different story.
Anamnesis according to google is basically patient history, not strictly a medical term though as it has other meanings depending on the context.
it's so good to see a real paramedic play a paramedic game.
Great looking game mate hope to see more of it
Maybe when the full game comes out they'll have an update to the ELS which has other sirens and an ability to use the horn.
23:36 took ambulance chasing to the next level.
True 😄
I worked as an EMT 20 years ago so I am no where near current but them throwing you into a triage situation without explanation is dirty. The fact you can’t transport 2 patients is crazy.
I know right. I had to play the demo a few times just to see what the game was wanting me to do. I mean you and I both know what the colors of the triage mean, but people will definitely need to study the handbook a bit to get this game down.
love this
We just started doing prehospital blood at the Medic level
Interesting, we are not allowed to do that in our department. Might depend on the agency and training in the field.
@BlueLineVibes it's a new state protocol added beginning of 2024. But I've had the opportunity to give it twice myself this year and yes not all agencies in Pennsylvania are doing it. It's alot on the back end to be a participating service.
@@EMSGuy Do ya'll do a cross match and then store it in special areas of your boxes?
The developers behind Highway Police Simulator made this, btw per Jeff Favigano. They've redeemed themselves for sure. The game looks fun, and I will consider pre-ordering or buying it when it comes out. Thank you for your service, Mike! 😁🫡
Actually they are behind the Police Simulator: Patrol Officers game. Different company than that rechid Highway Police Simulator game.
enjoyed it i definitely want the game i worked in the medical feild for 9 and 1/2 years they did good job with the medical and it being a game
Heck yea bringing it on bro
Im a 20 year UK Ambulance Clinician and never heard of Anamnesis before.
@@GooseMcSwan My friend's a Russian emergency feldscher and he says anamnesis all the time, and other Latin terms too.
Can you play the full game when it is released?
Absolutely, I will get the pre-order today.
Can't wait to see the full release of this game, very interesting! 😀⚕️
Very cool!
so about given blood in the field, my department has a whole blood program while allows us to give blood in the field
I would love to see more of this personally
Im a medic too and in all the tests and classes I've had I've also never heard the word anamnesis either lol. Also they do need different tones for the sirens. Love flipping through the tones at an intersection. The dumb AI drivers might actually be more realistic, you know what Im talking about!
4:48 Am a paramedic myself and was like what’s that word mean 😂😂
I think the patient with the D rating also had a bleeding arm/shoulder on the left. The first time you checked out that person, there was blood running down the upper arm before you switched sides and looked at the leg
Ya, saw that at the very end and should have wrapped it. I forgot to mention that in the final game release, they will have a setting that you can treat patients longer and not get penalized. I think in my head I was trying to prevent my partner "Angela / Natalie" from yelling at me that we need to get going ...
Yesss plzzzz play moreee ❤❤
wat up Mike good seeing you man I'm gonna try this game to as a former EMT I'm kinda wondering how accurate this game will be
It has some issues of course. It's not 100% on par for real life, but it does come a close second :)
@@BlueLineVibes oh ok gotcha ill keep an eye out for the issues
great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Firstly, greetings from a German EMT.
I get it, some things are not simulated in the Game, but just drive her code 3 to the ER with unsolved B- and C-Problems feels very wrong.
its sounds a bit like i want to say "oh, you make everything wrong and bla bla..." i'm sorry, i didnt mean it that way, i'm just interested in how things are done around the globe
if you make another epsode, tell us about some halloween nigths calls that you have over your carrer, it would be fun
Oh my, I got some good ones involving fake blood and lacerations 😂
Does the game include the winter weather mode, where the homeless all suddenly develop the magical short of breathing complaints for the warm ride to the hospital?
Yes, the Ped ran into your Ambulance.
Thanks, I'm gonna use you for my witness lol
what service did you work for that you couldn't take your monitor out of the ambulance with you?
Really cool
