Kick Start My Heart was written by bassist Nikki Sixx, after he did a fatal dose of heroin and he actually was pronounced dead until they gave him a shot of adrenaline straight to his heart to bring him back to life.

TWO shots directly in his heart. Paramedic was a Motley Crue fan

As a retired FDNY Paramedic I will tell you that he was given 2 doses of 1/1000 of Epinephrine via Intracardiac injections into his left ventricle. This procedure was taken out of protocol a long time ago because most paramedics were missing their projected target and puncturing the lung causing more damage. Especially on obese people. You’re supposed to insert the needle into the fourth intercostal space between the ribs. Which would work out perfectly on the average size person. But doing this procedure on an obese person especially in small quarters like the bathroom of someone’s home will almost always present a problem.
As a Motley Crue fan I’m glad that paramedic went the extra mile with Sixx. But I’m not sure if that was in protocol in California in 1987. I know it was not part of nyc REMSCO remac. So had this not worked out that paramedic would have opened himself up for multiple lawsuits and probably termination of his employment and possible sanction of his certification. But like I said I’m only speaking from a NYC paramedic. Whoever that paramedic is I know I speak for a lot of people when I saw THANK YOU 🙏. Sixx is the most talented member of Motley Crue the first 4 albums of Crue are amazing and Sixx as an amazing song writer.

A talk box runs the guitar sound through a surgical tube. You put the tube in your mouth and stand in front of mic. When you open and close your mouth, it modulates the sound

My two favorite musical memories are seeing the Crue play this in person, and being at Darien Lake in 1990 to see Tesla play Heaven's Trail. There is a lyric in that song that refers to it starting to rain. As they started playing the song, the clouds opened up and dropped about 3 inches of rain, lightning and thunder (it was an outdoor concert). Talk about special effects!
