Looks delicious. Love strawberry rhubarb. I think it would go very nicely over ice cream, yogurt, pound cake. In the US, the jam would be water bath caned 1/2 pints for 10 minutes.
Hi Elaine. Yes I think it would be good on ice-cream. particularly if not set as firm. Yes I have seen a lot of canning videos from the US. In the UK it is mostly jam/marmalade that is made and then stored in sterilised jars, and thing like pickled onions. I think for other foods it would be important to use a water bath method.
Oh I love a jam making day... I am in my very chilled mood doing this,,,, never done strawberry and rhubarb so this is new to me.🍓. I've made classic rhubarb orange and ginger... This looks delicious... I always make jams and marmalades for presents especially at Christmas for adults as we have all stopped the usual shop bought present giving... 🍊🍋🍓Much nicer I think..... 🤔Anyway GEOFF I HOPE YOU ARE WELL IT CHUCKED ☔IT DOWN HERE LAST NIGHT VERY WELCOME RAIN FOR THE GARDEN 🌧️🌧️🌧️COOLER AS WELL MUCH NICER YOU TAKE CARE GEOFF 💋
Hi Henrietta. It looks like it might rain here too. But nothing so far. Hopefully it wont be quite at warm today either This would be a nice jam to give as presents.
This is a staple in my jam collection when I can hunt down some Rhubarb... I am still looking for some in the shops and I am even starting to peek into unattended gardens... Nice recipe by the way! Thank you Geoff.
Hi Miss Dream. Fig jam is a possibility. I have a video for Blue Cheese & Fig Tart which is very good, though I don't think I tasted it since I don't like blue cheese. But family members enjoyed it.
Hi Geoff, brilliant tutorial, thanks so much…….your jam looks so good……the jam I usually buy in the supermarket has gone up by £1 per jar, that’s a lot……It’s a few years ago now, but I decided I wanted to make a load of jams and bought everything in sight to make it, all the equipment I needed and probably a load I didn’t! Well, I still haven’t made any! It’s all at the back of the cupboard, but it’s coming out because I’m making this for sure! ……..do you mind me asking where you got the pectin from? We usually shop at Sainsbury’s, I’ve just looked on their online shop and they only have something called Certo - liquid pectin - it says once opened use in 14 days too which I probably wouldn’t …….thanks again Geoff, for all your recipes, tips and hard work……lots of love Jan xx❤xx

Hi Julie-joy. I hope you find some rhubarb. It. used to be grown in abundance, rather like gooseberries were. But not so much these days.

Hi Jan. I bought Tate & Lyle pectin from Ocado. I see Waitrose stock it too and it is on Amazon. 3 packets in the box.

Hi Jean. No I haven't. I think Jello is available in North America but not so readily in the UK.
