Just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. It's always a special treat seeing the concepts and collaborations come to life with brands you like. I got Iron Rangers and JK boots because of you guys. Iron Rangers 4 years strong and the 300s look like they'll be as tuff if not more.
I'd love to see a PNW jungle boot. Sunbrella fabric upper, Thurman last, silicone infused leather lower, mesh drain holes, rubber midsole, honey vibram unit sole or panama sole, 360 stitchdown synthetic thread. I think it'd be great for hiking, backpacking, and camping where you might have to walk through mud and water and not be able to dry your boots out each day.
They’re not my thing but I can definitely appreciate them, just really unfortunate timing with releasing them at the exact same time as nicks released their Builder Pro HD with pretty much the exact same feature set 😅
Liked the stealth stitching on the v2s, wish that was an option. Came very close to buying a pair, probably would’ve but got a pair of the smugs and needed to chill on spending 😅
Why? You only need wool in shoes in areas with snow and ice. Leather is not good for snow. Why not just get the bunny boots (rubber and wool construction)? What you are recommending will be too warm for spring summer and too wet for winter. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
@@InGrindWeCrust2010 under the insole as the fill from the void created by the Goodyear welt. Usually it’s filled with cork but some have wool or a combo of the two
Were these inspired by your Chippewa boots from the elk hunt? Just more enhanced. A full Vibram sole is all you need to run around the woods. All that stacked leather just weighs you down.
I didn't realize that these were going to be a limited time thing. I wanted a pair so bad, but I'm always at my brokest during May. I only wear bison boots and these were perfect.
I like your transparency and honesty. My issue with the design is the speed hook/eyelets layout. I don't think the boot should be designed for an easy breakin because once they break in you're stuck with the strange lacing system for the life of the boot (years). Just my thought, it's cool that you're trying new things, but I think over a hundred years of building these boots have honed them down to perfection already.
Ah! The 1st prototype looked the best! 😂 I’d rather have the Munson last and 360 stitch down and try the best to combine the barefoot minimalist world into a nice Bison leather boot. Ideally composite toe so I can wear it everyday at work.
Very cool boots. I prefer the narrow lasts, I’ve noticed over the years that most boots will stretch width wise a bit, so going a bit narrow works good for me. Of course all feet are different so find what works for you. I’d like to see the bear slayers in all black, or maybe even JK’s grey leather with a black vibram.
I bought a pair of smoothout bison ots about a month before these came out and I love them and prefer the look of the smoothout. However I would have heavily considered these instead if they were out.
What does Weston have against Frank's. Boot Company? Everyone knows there are four FOUR PNW boot makers in Spokane but as of this video, Weston is acting like Frank's does not exist. Both near the beginning of the video and again at the end where he even names them, Weston refers to the "Big Three" PNW boot makers. What is up with that? DId Frank's piss off Weston? Did Frank turn town his offer to do a collaboration boot? I would love to know why Weston refers to the Big Three and not the BIg Four. Thanks.
I also love franks, especially for the money. So it would be nice to see him compare them to the other PNW brands. None of those brands are very big compared to like Danner so I knew he knows of franks
Hopefully someone can help me out. I normally where LEMs boulders but looking at a pair of these boots. If you get the wide option, does it still push your toes together?
Yeah, I didn't watch the Cut in Half vid yet. I still think the OT last WAY too narrow. I like the idea of the cutaway cut out bits, but wonder how they do more than just roughly 100 miles or whatever since that's only about a season or less for somebody an avid hiker? Pretty sure won't be much rain here any time soon now, either, that which the bison would shed better than roughout? I already know is more flexible, etc.
Pretty sure I will need t' get OTs rebuilt for more arch support as I've mentioned in other vid comments already, but might as well touch the bases here. No rush.
If I didn't already buy those maybe I woulda bought these, but oh well. Maybe the next iteration I like even better but still might want to rebuild or redo and still want taller and not roughout, but not sure about the weight factor because I definitely wanted something more heavy duty than the glorified sneakers that replaced combat boots, etc.
“Bear Slayer.” You’re prancing around the forest in camouflage fashions with hi-tech rifles and cameras, nav aids and boots with Bear Hug arch supports and flex teeth, shooting bear cubs and imagining you’re the mighty warrior. At some point it’s just prissy Dan’l Boone cosplay for RUclips views.
Your boot kilties are more expensive than the other ones on the market also alot more thin than the others. Hope you didnt cheap out on these boots aswell.
Last chance to get a pair of Bear Slayers here - bit.ly/3yGKHGu

Sick. I wonder if Frank's could pull that off.
@@InGrindWeCrust2010 Nick's definitely could as their tactical boot is close
That would definitely be better than Rose's "Jungle Boot" ND4s.

Would love a black version with maybe a stiffer outsole and definitely synthetic laces. Was never a fan of leather laces. Looks great!

I like the full sole for this type of application - no worries of water getting into the leather heel stack, just my two cents.
Nice, congratulations!
Perhaps one day I can get me some Bear Slayers. Looks sick though!

The smooth out are really nice. The shrunken patterns are beautiful. I'm probably going to buy a pair since I missed these.
@samsneed7979 they are beautiful, I for one also think I prefer the 8 inch over the 7. But then again can't say I've worn a 7 inch boot.
Can it come with steel toe?
I want these. No link on their website to subscribe for next batch run.
Wish flex teeth were available on regular jk’s

Half size down and more width where I landed, but still maybe slightly wider than necessary if looking for more side support?
