A few months ago researchers at Anthropic managed to isolate the neurons in their Claude AI that were responsible for the concept of the Golden Gate Bridge and amplified them. The resulting AI, "Golden Gate Claude", is obsessed with Golden Gate Bridge, and pretty much any subject given it will end up finding a way to relate it to the Golden Gate, and constantly yaps about it as much as it can. Was not expecting that a similar operation was possible to also be done on human brains... but Golden Gate Ursa seems to now be a reality that we have to contend with.
That trade route was so satisfying! I've tried using the GGBs gold multiplier effect on trade routes passing through while stacking with other modifiers (eg great zimbabwe, torre de belem), but always find at that point in the game that existing trade route networks have already created the trade route pathing. Maybe someone in the comments has gotten this to work?
actually, i had been using golden gate for the appeal boost for many many months long before this sudden popularization of it. didn't know it was that big a deal / underappreciated til now.
Cristo and Seaside resorts make the strategy even stronger, its an additional +100% modifier on them on top of golden gate. way harder to place optimally and tougher to stack up with Reyna though unfortunately since you have to chop the woods, it can't be snow or tundra and it has to be flat land, meaning no woods. Technically Brazil might have a higher appeal potential than america if you include biosphere, since all rainforest would then be a whopping +3 to all adjacent tiles, but getting that much rainforest adjacent would be impossible in practice, plus you lose out on the film studio so its definitely not worth it practically.
I still don’t know despite thousands of hours…is there any significant difference between coal and oil power plants other than the resource used for power?
I think there's a difference in the building effect, the coal one also gives production based on adjacency iirc. But the main difference is their CO2 emission if that's something one cares about.
Coal gives production equal to the industrial zone to THAT city Oil gives a flat production to the city and all other cities in 6 tiles So oil can be more reliable and can apply to multiple cities - but coal is epic if you've built up the industrial zone
That trade route across Golden Gate made the whole Golden Gate side project worth it.
That did bring a bit of Christmas joy to my heart I won't lie
It hurt me so much knowing Kandy could be suzereigned before the earth satellite was sent, It could have been 9 relics!!!!

Could this be the series where Ursa reaches 2000 population? You're already 25% of the way there 😋.
