If you read the book after Anna died Vronsky went to the war going on and it was said he had a death wish so I think if shows he truly loved her otherwise he would have married and moved on
As a man, i view death wish is not true love, but regret. When an adult woman and an adult man give their pure heart and soul each other to build romantic relationship, that is (romantic) "TRUE LOVE". but True Love will need sacriface from both side, to keep balance and survive. (becarefull coz a lot man are too smart to fake their heart and soul to seduce woman ahahahhahaha) if we skip moral : Anna is not wrong to choice Vronsky as her true lover, coz Vronsky is gentleman who never fake all his heart and soul to Anna. Vronsky fell guilty coz when anna fall into depression, he was not always stay with her and gave more sacriface to heal Anna's depression. i think Vronsky just need a few more sacriface (and help from his friends) again to get Anna legally and happy ending, like Vronsky want. but he was fail !!! sometimes this is make me annoyed..... (in this era, u can use psychiatrist or psychologis to heal depression). that is the only reason, Vronsky had a death wish. i had watch at least 4 versions (movie+mini series) versions of anna's story, and tolstoy's book i love Anna's story ("Dark Version of True Love"), which very original and unique. i just wish (maybe imposssible wish), someday there are sweet version of Anna's Story, which Anna cancel her suicide and married legally with Vronsky........

I saw this movie with Christopher Reeves as Count Veronsky and Jacqueline Bisset as Anna Karenina and it was 100% better then this production!! That guy that played Count vronsky looked like a little 14 year old gay boy, he was not in any way masculine or sexy. He actually for me ruined the whole show! If you want to really see this movie in all its Glory then see if you can Google and get the movie with Christopher Reeves and Jacqueline Bisset in it and then you will see how really bad this was compared to the real story of Anna Karenina!!
This version is a pain to watch. Keira Knightly has a funny face (and they’re all terrible actors here) - that’s not how Anna is supposed to look. This version suffers from comparison from the BBC adaptation the actress is very convincing as Anna, beatiful yet tortured soul, fine portrayal. Knightley’s face and acting comes across as a joke to this story.
