Ballrooms of Mayo

A new TV show will remind viewers of the period when Mayo was the ballroom capital of Ireland. The three-part documentary, ‘Mayo’s Ballrooms of Dancing and Romance’ is produced by iMayo TV and fronted by Henry McGlade. The programme looks back on Mayo’s ballroom heyday. It will feature people who danced and romanced in the ballrooms, some of those who performed on stage, as well as former ballroom promoters and owners. “Mayo was the ballroom capital of Ireland,” said the programme’s host, Henry McGlade. The programme is funded by Creative Ireland and Mayo County Library.
