This took two hours to do but I finally got it working, the first time I installed it, it wasn't working but after i did everything once more it was working and I'm literally obsessed with how cool it looks. I am a big music lover (considering I play 3 instruments), meaning I'm always listening to music, so this just makes it 100000x cooler when I do listen to it. This works! If you've got a problem with the path go to your folder and locate the spotify file then redirect the path there. If it stops working after a week or so just redo the Powershell spicetify steps that should fix it if not then redo all the steps and check the problem I mentioned above^^ :)

Hey, i closed my computer and after i started it up the spotify tags went away the bar still plays sound but it does not show what song and whatever it just says 'N/A' how can i have it so when i start up my pc it just goes normal to the song?

Hi, I managed to get everything working except the album art won't change from the monster cat logo. I can still pause, play, go prev or next song with the monster cat logo, but it won't update to show the album covers. I uninstalled Spotify, but I didn't know how to uninstall the visualizer
So from what I recall, as it’s been awhile, the album artwork was contingent upon the exe version of Spotify as opposed to the windows App Store version which i think the exe was depreciated? Don’t quite remember. To uninstall though, you’ll want to uninstall RainMeter which should just be in add/remove programs for windows.

I managed to solve it here... First you need to clean the backup using the command: spicetify clear After that, apply again with the command: spicetify backup apply I hope it helps

Well i have the same problem and have fixed it by uninstall and reinstall webnowplaying plugin. Follow these steps to uninstall: Step1: go to C: -> Users -> (for me it is: C:\Users\PhamDuong) Step2: find and completely delete these folders: ".spicetify" and "spicetify-cli" Step3: reinstall the plugin (make sure you have already installed Spotify from the executable file on their website). Hope it works for you.

I went through the steps and when i entered, "spicetify config extensions webnowplaying.js" It said, warning Config "extensions" unchanged: webnowplaying.js is already in the list. So i just continued, with the other steps and all proceeded like normal. Spotify is installed, Rainmeter is installed, then i loaded the visualizer, then did the powershell steps. Thoughts? Do i ignore the warning message or do i need to configure something? Artist and Song still not showing up. Still shows N/A. Restart computer?
For people who have never ending problems correctly installing Spicetify for Spotify support in Windows 10, like errors regarding "prefs" filepath or "handle is invalid" error, I may have a solution. An error regarding the "prefs filepath" may have something to do with the fact that Spotify is or in the past was installed through the Windows App store, which does not install Spotify in the normall location on your drive like you are used to. So even if you deleted the store version and reinstalled the desktop version, the error still comes up. This has to do with the fact that after uninstalling the store version, Windows keeps some of the Spotify appstore data, which tells the Spotify desktop version installer not download any desktop version files, but to download the app store version files. You can see if you have an app store version after installation by logging into Spotify and go to your settings. Look at the option at the bottom and click it, it will tell you if the app store version is installed. If so, follow the steps below. If not, you will only see a version number, but you could still try the steps below. This is how you completely remove the app store version: -Completely close Spotify -Delete the app store version the normal way -Go to the user and %appdata% folder with your explorer and delete any Spotify folder you find in the Local and Roaming folder. -Go to /Program Files/WindowsApps/ folder and delete any folder containing Spotify information. My spotify just broke or smth. It has no menu or such, just three dots on the upper corner left :/. After doing the spicetify install with the powershell :/
@@vibupuvvala2041 its cuz of the new update, spicetify no longer works with it and you need spicetify for webnowplaying. however, there is a workaround, which is to downgrade spotify to a earlier version that works with spicetify.

Im having the problem that when I close spotify the visualizaer dissociates frome the player, and I got to do all the process from the powershell to get the visualizer working again with spotify, and im reading the page from monstercat and says that spotify is no longer supported so I dont really know if that is the reason of my problem or other ones problems with spotify trying to associate it the visualizer
Same problem with me, I just go into the powershell and simply enter "spicetify backup apply", then spotify should restart and everything will be ok. Unfortunately when you close Spotify you have to do again this passage from the powershell

i copied and pasted the command into powershell but it doesn’t recognize the term “invoke web request” as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. so, i had to update powershell to version 4.0 because i’m on windows 7, but even though “invoke-webreqest” is fixed, it now says the same thing for “invoke-expression” even though it is an invoke command

I've searched everywhere for solutions to my problem but I haven't found any so the visualiser it's self runs perfectly but the song info doesn't, I've tried all of the known fixes like changing my perf folder, running powershell commands and all that but instead of the song title and artist name being n/a like when it doesn't detect anything it is instead always 0, idk why, I have the browser extension and have tried many things to get it working

You can also right click on the visualizer and unload it if you don't want to see it for a bit.

First you need to clean the backup using the command:

How do you make it on default that it would only be on the side upon start up? Every time I turn on my PC, the visualizer would always be on the center, and I need to manually drag it every time to the side. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@@actu right click on skin>open variables file> ctrl+F search for FontSize1. Change the sizes then save the file. then refresh skin.

do you have spotify premium because it was working for me fine and then I got premium and it completely just broke
@@vibupuvvala2041 its cuz of the new update, spicetify no longer works with it and you need spicetify for webnowplaying.
however, there is a workaround, which is to downgrade spotify to a earlier version that works with spicetify.
It works if you downgrade it but it's album and title won't work though.

Im having the problem that when I close spotify the visualizaer dissociates frome the player, and I got to do all the process from the powershell to get the visualizer working again with spotify, and im reading the page from monstercat and says that spotify is no longer supported so I dont really know if that is the reason of my problem or other ones problems with spotify trying to associate it the visualizer
Same problem with me, I just go into the powershell and simply enter "spicetify backup apply", then spotify should restart and everything will be ok. Unfortunately when you close Spotify you have to do again this passage from the powershell

I followed this tutorial step by step and everything works perfectly except for the visualizer itself. Ive tried messing with the sensitivity and my computer audio and I cannot get it to work. Can you possibly help me?
My only guess would be to make sure you have the default audio device set correctly in windows, and the same one in the visualizer.
i cant move the meter of visualizer height and rotation angle it keep refreshing and coming back to default values
i copied and pasted the command into powershell but it doesn’t recognize the term “invoke web request” as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. so, i had to update powershell to version 4.0 because i’m on windows 7, but even though “invoke-webreqest” is fixed, it now says the same thing for “invoke-expression” even though it is an invoke command
run internet explorer while doing this fixed it for me

I've searched everywhere for solutions to my problem but I haven't found any so the visualiser it's self runs perfectly but the song info doesn't, I've tried all of the known fixes like changing my perf folder, running powershell commands and all that but instead of the song title and artist name being n/a like when it doesn't detect anything it is instead always 0, idk why, I have the browser extension and have tried many things to get it working
