Theme Spotify using Spicetify V2

- A SPOTIFY UPDATE BROKE SPICETIFY CURRENTLY, IF YOU HAVE A BLANK SCREEN, TYPE IN “spicetify restore” INTO POWERSHELL AND WAIT UNTIL SPICETIFY GETS A NEW VERSION.
This is a quick updated tutorial on how to make your spotify look significantly better than before using themes. For the customization, I am using spicetify which finally got released as a V2 which works for the latest version of spotify. This tutorial will help you apply any theme available in the github link. Moreover, this tutorial will also help you change the color variant of the theme to match your taste.
PS: Please have the spotify.com version of spotify installed before continuing installation.

also a workaround for this ive found is just downgrading spotify- installing a previous version instead and then running this fixes the issue

Thanks! Although I don't dislike the new UI, the Spicetify themes are far better. This tutorial summed up the process perfectly.

I uninstalled spotify a few months ago and just have been using the browser version because it was taking up to 10 GB of my limited space. Having watched this now I'm tempted to go back and install it again... Anyways, this is great work! Congrats to you and everybody that has worked on it

@@avocVOD I am not sure what the problem is but you either didn't properly check to see if it was a basic theme or a complex one or something went wrong.Did you see any error during the install?I would advise you to redo it and see if the problem persists.

i’m gonna wait until more dynamic themes are added. there are just some parts of the old spotify that i can’t live without, like a tab on the left side for accessing local files
there's a workaround for that, you can create a playlist containing your local songs and it would show up on the left side.
@@Samych02 yeah but i’d still have to navigate to a subsection of ‘my songs’ to put the local files into that playlist. plus i have a LOT of local files lol

There is a small issue when you have a lot of folders, more than the viewport can handle, then there is no scroll.

I'm trying to install Dribbblish base, and all I get is a green window with no UI. Anyone know why? I'm following the steps exactly.
Spotify did an update and it broke "spicetify".
Just use "spicetify restore" in a powershell window and wait for a update from the spicetify team.

@@20cnVision But you have to make the update folder read only, otherwise it will update, if you close spotify, the next time you open it. I just felt its simpler to wait for a majority of people.

When I tried to install spicetify, my spotify went to the color of the background, but nothing else appeared. I can still use the media keys with the app open, but i just see a solid color as spotify. Is there a way to fix this?

I think it doesn't work with spotify premium. read in the read me file that it doesn't work with the "ad-blocked" version. Which I'm guessing is premium
@@jedh.6741 I have spotify free and the same happens to me, so it seems to be some other thing. Also I can notice in the screenshots they don't have the upgrade button that takes me to their page to buy premium, and I get that on the normal version and the web version. So it must be some other thing

To install them, just type in powershell
spicetify config extensions (ExtensionName.js)

Hello, i have a problem while doing this tutorial
When i install the spicetify, in the end i saw an error message saying "Cannot find symbol for Custom app React symbols" below the "Applying additional modification" in the Administrator: Windows PowerShell, so if i open spotify and it show a blank white only, already try reinstall but the error is still show, already follow all your steps but it still showing the error thing, when im applying the theme and restarting spotify, it just changing the background color and full of blank, i have restart my computer but it didnt work and it still show error until i restore everything back to normal, the spotify is working well with the Spotify default theme
If you can help me, please reply this comment, if you cant then type that you cannot fix this problem.

Hi! when I go to install Soucetify, I get an error called: "Cannot find symbol for Custom app React symbols". When I open the spotfy, it is 100% white, with no buttons. Only the button to close the program appears. Do you know how to solve this?

he said that the recent spotify update broke spicetify so you just have to wait for him to release a new version
yep as others point out in the comments, this theme thing no longer works with the new update. As the React components can't be reached during installation, so avoid using this until there is a fix. That can take some time.
is there a platform for updates on this? (discord, reddit, etc?)

and after installing the window is just one color with nothin in it but minimize or close buttons, i reinstalled everythin, but doesnt helped

My Spotify updated and it reset to default theme. I tried to apply the dribbblish theme again and this appears on powershell "Applying additional modifications:
error Cannot find symbol for Custom app React symbols" and Spotify goes blank with only the color of the theme
Had the same problem. Reverting to an earlier version of Spotify (from May in my case) and then reapplying worked for me.
FYI you'll have to disable updates or Spotify will push one automatically after PC restarts.

Hi! I installed Dribbblish and it's working fine but I don't have the playlist covers on the left panel. It only shows the playlist name. Is there a way to show them as they did in your video? :)
Unfortunately that's a bug that happening with dribbblish and when it gets fixed ill update the description.
im pretty sure its only for folders, but im having the same issue. No covers are showing for playlists and folders for me.
WARNING: THE DRIBBBLISH THEME IS CURRENTLY HAVING ISSUES WITH ICONS ON THE LEFT. ONCE IT GETS FIXED I WILL EITHER UPDATE THE CODE TO MAKE IT AUTOMATICALLY WORK OR I WILL PIN AND POST HERE THE STEPS TO FIX IT.
