Sultan mehmed vi wasn't a bad ruler when he came to the throne it was too late even before his reign begin it was certain the ottoman empire would fall he tried to install some stability but it was too late

5. Ibrahim: destroyed the economy, enabled corruption through bribing way to power, was insane. 4. Murad V: Ruled for only a few months, went completely insane and thus not able to rule at all. 3. Mehmed VI: Kinda unlucky as he was the last Sultan of an already dead State, but Constantinople was occupied in his reign, he was forced to accept the humiliating Treaty of Sevres (which Mustafa Kemal Paşa; later Atatürk replaced with lesser Treaty of Lausanne) 2. Mustafa IV: Conspired with reactionaries to depose the modernising Selim III. As Sultan, the Capital was in total chaos and the Janissaries ruled instead of him; killed Selim III and almost killed the last surviving member of the Dynasty Şehzade Mahmud (later Mahmud II), and ruled for less than a year 1. Mustafa I: Arguably insane, was a complete puppet of his mother and then the Grand Vizier, got deposed twice, ruled for around a year overall. Key themes are ruling for a very low period of time and also being a puppet; often due to mental illness
Mustafa I and IV were terrible, although the 1st one is not his fault as he was enthroned by others to become a puppet. Mustafa II and III on the other hand were actually pretty good overall, but made a few mistakes that cost the former the Sultanate and the latter a heavy defeat at the hands of the Russians. Both these men would've made a greater impact had they lived and ruled longer though
@@aha3652 I think it was the Sheikh ul-Islam he let rule the state, not his mother. And I say he was good as he was a more warrior-minded Sultan, and the last to ever go out on campaign. Unfortunate he wasn’t as lucky as other Sultans like Suleiman I and even Murad IV
After The Dethroning of The Sultan AbdulHamid Han 2 Caliph the empire was just history you know

I don't think Mehmed VI deserved to be on this list, he was just a figurehead.
Exactly the reason, failed trying is better than not trying at all
@zaid Saleemi It was the Pashas who sealed the fate of the empire.
Probably every great empire's last king/sultan/emperor was worst a few exception
@@asmrnaturecat984 honestly his brother Mehmed V is worse, he didn't even try to do anything. Mehmed VI at least tried to save the already-dead state
Fun fact as a turkey we dont even get teached these sultans because they were so inconpedent and fitting 600 years to 1 year is hard
Many of them were bad because of the political situation
you forgot selim 2
Agreed
in my opinion Mustafa (not the first) should be the worst
But overall nice ranking!
there are 4 Mustafas lol.
@@hussainsultanzada6123 oh yeah, sorry.
I meant the 4th one
Sultan Mehmed III left the chat
He conquered Eger and won the battle of kereshtes,he was also going to March on the savavids before he died, how was he bad.

I have too the sultan is hoax
I agree with your opinion
What did each sultan do to be on the list?
The things that i notice among them are
1) inactivity
2) weak
3) puppet figure

Tuborg selim nerde
Where is Cem Sultan
he was never crowned as sultan, he was only a prince at most
technically not an Ottoman Sultan, just a pretender
It's funny that foreigners talk about Turkish history without knowing it, everyone is talking nonsense in the comments.

You

Starting from Salim 2
After 1595 all are worst 😂
No there were some who were good but not as good as before
Well murad 4 arguably are one of the best but he ascended to throne too early and half of his reign rules by his mother
