  • The George & Barbara Bush Foundation hosted a special book signing and reception with Jean Becker, former Chief of Staff to President George H.W. Bush and New York Times bestselling author, plus friends of the 41st president, on Tuesday, May 7, at Annenberg Presidential Conference Center in College Station, Texas. The memorable evening began with remarks from Becker about her highly anticipated book, “Character Matters … and Other Life Lessons from George H.W. Bush.” Friends of the 41st president then joined Becker on stage to share heartfelt memories and humorous stories about President Bush during a panel discussion.
    Speakers included Secretary Andrew H. Card, Jr., CEO of the George and Barbara Bush Foundation, former Secretary of Transportation for President George H.W. Bush, and former White House Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush; Chuck Hermann, founding director of The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University; Fred McClure, former assistant for legislative affairs for President George H.W. Bush, and associate vice president of Leadership & Engagement at Texas A&M University; and R.C. Slocum, former head football coach at Texas A&M University.
