Thanks for this walk in San Diego! The "Unconditional Surrender" statue reminded me of a famous photo taken in Times Square on the day WW II ended. I particularly liked seeing the Bob Hope memorial. I still have snapshots from the 1970 Bob Hope Christmas Show in Da Nang, South Vietnam, where I was stationed when I was in the Army - 53 years ago but seems like yesterday. Again, many thanks!

Excellent! It’s funny because not long before the Midway was decommissioned I wrote letters to a sailor on it regularly. He was actually from San Diego.🌴🌴 Even then the Midway was a really old ship compared to the rest of the Navy’s fleet. But it’s cool to see she’s still serving a purpose as a museum.🏛
